@qwk

Something like this ?   :

   or better like this

I do kind of like this tally mark idea. Maybe a tally mark for each 100 valid reports submitted, and then introduce a special icon once 1,000+ reports are made? The color of the icon can symbolize whether it's 1,000, 2,500 or 5,000+ reports?

I do also like the star badges to coincide with the existing themes.
122  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Bitstarz scammed me! unsolved on: July 26, 2018, 07:53:34 PM
This is the nature of online casinos. They'll gladly accept any deposits without proper KYC documentation, but make it extremely time consuming to withdraw any large earnings. Is it annoying? Yes. Is it illegal? Nope.

Sorry that you're going through this process, but all of your complaints are clearly addressed in their terms of conditions on their site: https://www.bitstarz.com/terms

I'm fairly confident that you will get your earnings, given that you follow their requests and be patient, but it's going to take weeks or months.

I think it's a bit aggressive that you're calling BitStarz a scam because you have an open withdrawal. Just continue contacting their support team, and if the issue is not resolved after all options are expired, then come back here (with supporting documentation) to let us know that they're holding your funds hostage.
123  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcointalk Merit Winning Methods & Proposals on: July 26, 2018, 07:03:14 PM
For us newbies, perhaps before we try to hunt for merit I think it would be best if we should learn more about the forum and its cycle as a whole.

This.

I don't know whether yours is a new account after having an existing account tagged for solely hunting merit, or you're an actual newbie who cares, but your statement, as simple as it is, hits the nail on the head.

Merit is a byproduct of great posts and activity on the forums, not a given right. A lot of members tend to believe that they have a RIGHT to 'earn' merits. This thought needs to be eradicated from people's minds.
124  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] ChipMixer.com - Bitcoin mixer / Bitcoin tumbler - mixing reinvented on: July 26, 2018, 06:54:31 PM
Does chipmixer planning to share some information publicly?
How many coins have been mixed?chips sources? Plan if there is a government decision against it? bitmixer's mistakes, or whatever happened to that mixer? How long will keep advertising here? Future plans?

While I love the idea of knowing the stats behind ChipMixer's service, I highly doubt they would release such information, as it would jeopardize the nature of the company's privacy and security. I'd rather keep my privacy/security in tact, vs. appeasing my curiosity.

They made some interesting comments in their service thread at the time. The owner decided it wasn't a business that they wanted to be involved in any more.

IIRC, there was also a notice that was publicized by the US gov at that time, regarding the seeking of information regarding crypto holders in exchanges and bitcoin service sites. When I read the statement made by BitMixer when they shut down, I thought something else was going on... Something more fishy. Maybe the owner's information was disclosed or discovered, and was extorted or threatened? When you're dealing with such volumes of profit, you become a target. Hence why I think it's safer for everyone if the site's data wasn't disclosed.
125  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Common Q&A about bitcoin: non-technical edition. How much do YOU know? on: July 26, 2018, 06:50:19 PM
Many people around me ask about whether btc trading is the same as gambling because guessing price in the future? What do you think..?? Because I can only answer them casually and say that it is not a gamble. It is a real money and knowledge.

Technically speaking, Bitcoin isn't a currency, and that's the argument that most noobs throw back at me, because they've seen it on the news, and how the SEC or US gov doesn't qualify it as a currency or "money".

When I'm asked about the volatility of bitcoin, I tend to steer them towards the conversation of precious metals, and how they're valued based on the supply and demand at any given time, along with the limited quantity available. Gold isn't a currency, but it's still bought and sold as a commodity, much like bitcoin.
126  Other / Meta / Re: Seeking reporter badge images on: July 26, 2018, 06:43:44 PM
Alright, I like the handshake icons a lot. That might be a more friendly icon than the nuke icon. Shaking hands could represent a few things too such as saying thanks, but also helping each other out. Nice one BTCforJoe.

I did just notice, however, that the gold solid handshake icon is hard to interpret if you don't already know that it's a handshake. I might use the regular icon to depict the granddaddy icon:

127  Other / Meta / Re: Seeking reporter badge images on: July 26, 2018, 05:46:32 PM
Got a couple more ideas for icons. Colors can be changed, obviously.

Clipboard/Report

Handshake

It's hard trying to choose a graphic or icon type to use to depict reporting. I do like the chevrons, but I'm not a fan of using such military-based images. The hats and detective idea is good. And I do like the lightning bolts. But everything else to me is kind of "meh", imo.

Who would have thought choosing an icon was such a hard task Tongue
128  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Selling Abobe Invites to access Complete Adobe Suite for $10 Only. on: July 25, 2018, 06:49:16 AM
I have received a vouch subscription from OP. The subscription is for Creative Cloud All Apps.

As you can see from this screenshot, before I received the subscription, I had a free membership:

After receiving the invite, here is my account now:

As you can see, I also have Photoshop opened while I'm logged into the account that OP has sent the subscription to:

Please note that the time and date in the upper right corner are current.

I am also able to open all Adobe Creative apps on my computer. Please feel free to private message me if you require proof.

While some subscriptions also include Adobe Stock usage, the one that OP has sent me does not.

I will update this thread weekly with the subscription status to show how long the account lasts for. So far, all is working well!
129  Other / Meta / Re: Seeking reporter badge images on: July 25, 2018, 06:35:42 AM
I suggest something like this just to give an idea but a better version:

A police hat in general could give the idea of reporting imo

If you hadn't said that that was a police hat, I wouldn't have known what it was. Unfortunately, it's hard to depict an object with that much detail within 16 pixels.

-

Regarding the counter issue, you could solve it by creating a 'title' tag with the amount of valid reports that were made. The number of results can be displayed when rolling over the icon, such as in the following mockup:

130  Other / Meta / Re: HOW TO GET BCT ACCOUNT UNBANNED??? on: July 25, 2018, 04:46:35 AM
After reviewing the last 5 pages of your post history, it seems a bit odd that your account was banned. Maybe it was because every single one of your last 100 posts were in boards that are thought of to be spam attractors? All of the threads you've posted in are megathreads, and anyone reviewing your account can easily use the argument that your posts lack substance and don't contribute to the overall health of the forums.

Maybe there was a post where you plagiarized something beyond your last 100 posts?

I think a staff member could give you a definitive reason, but to me, you're an obvious shit poster.

-----

Edit: Thanks, @TryNinja, for clarifying that it was, in fact, plagiarism.
131  Other / Meta / Re: Seeking reporter badge images on: July 25, 2018, 04:36:09 AM
I think that I'm going to add some badges for people who report a bunch of posts. Maybe one for 300 good reports, one of 1000, and one for 5000. Does anyone want to make or find these images? They have to be exactly 16x16 px (like ), and if you find them online, then they must be copyright-free.

Where would this badge reside? Next to the View Profile and Personal Message icons?

If so, then here's a couple of icon designs for the three different types of badges:

(300 reports)
(1000 reports)
(5000 reports)

And some mockups with the icons in play:

300 reports

1000 reports

5000 reports
132  Other / Meta / Re: Account banned, not sure why on: July 23, 2018, 08:11:12 PM
Lol, I can assure you that my ego has nothing to do with my response. I'm not the one that broke any rules. Regardless of which post you got banned for, you did ultimately break rules.

- Forum Idiot

P.S. Good riddance.
133  Other / Meta / Re: bitmover Merit Source Application - and thoughts on Brazilian Bitcoin Community on: July 23, 2018, 08:00:23 PM
I'd like to endorse @bitmover to be a merit source, as well. Based on their post history, as well as their selection of posts that have been merited, they seem to have a great understanding of how the merit system operates on the forums.

Good luck, bitmover!
134  Other / Meta / Re: Pop up ads really annoying on: July 23, 2018, 07:56:41 PM
To be clear, because other's haven't stated it directly, these forums don't have popup ads.

A starting point for you should be to download the free version of Crap Cleaner: https://www.ccleaner.com/

Then check out Malware Bytes: https://www.malwarebytes.com/
135  Other / Meta / Re: Account banned, not sure why on: July 23, 2018, 07:52:58 PM
I didn't realise there was any rule

But the ban is still not a good enough reason to read the rules? You're beyond hope.

Are you for real? When did I even say that. I can see where I have gone wrong and although I think its pretty harsh I understand that rules are rules.

You on the other hand are just looking for a way to stick the knife in to feed your own ego and it is utterly pathetic.

Uh, he quoted you exactly to the post where you said that...

In my defense though, I'm not a shit poster like a lot of the people on this forum posting 5 word posts to just get their bounty signature requirements, I did actually try to contribute.

I feel that a flat out ban without even a warning is a bit harsh. At the time of the two posts you just quoted I didn't realise there was any rule against copying sections of other articles and while ignorance is not an excuse those posts are not indicative of my posting behaviour as a whole.

I realise there is absolutely no reason for me to get my account back but I just thought I would use the opportunity to defend myself while I still have it.

Peace

Plagiarism is plagiarism, but you have stated that this work that got you in trouble was your own that was inspired by an article, and that you had not copied and pasted it from anywhere:

It was my work inspired by a post I read elsewhere. None of it was copy and pasted though.

When you got called out, you changed your tune to say that at least you're not a shitposter, but in my opinion, plagiarizing is more offensive than shitposting.

There's no need to get defensive when others call you out based on your own actions. I can assure you that from a third person perspective, @suchmoon wasn't trying to feed their own ego with what they stated. You just took offense to it because of the nature of the way you tried to prove your innocence.

If you think that your plagiarism is justified because "at least you're not a shitposter", then maybe you don't belong on these forums afterall.
136  Economy / Services / Re: Seeking Core Team Members for Great project on: July 23, 2018, 07:43:21 PM
Hello
I'm from the marketing team for a very ambitious ico project
And our project gets very great interest and great demand even before the initial sale
We are only in the beginning, and we aspire to create a very strong society. Our projects are almost completed and will be announced before the ICO.
unfortunately, our team is from a country that does not allow this type of projects so we chose not to reveal our names That is why we are looking for new members to join us from other countries
For more information please contact me telegram: @Coinwd

Sorry, but in this day and age, I think coins and ICO's like yours are worthless. There are so many shitcoins already out there, and unless your coin serves some sort of utility, the only people you are going to attract for your team are going to be cheap inexperienced people that are just looking to make a quick buck.

Additionally, unless you're creating an anonymous coin meant for privacy, your coin may not excite professionals, especially because there is no transparency as to who the founders are.

Sorry to be so negative, but I'm just sharing my opinion.

137  Economy / Services / Re: [btc] FREE ESCROW SERVICE [btc] on: July 23, 2018, 07:27:06 PM
Hey mate,
You will get red tag from the DT members. Have a look on my trust page, you will get idea.

PS: Not sure about your true intention however it won't get count.

You got a red tag because you offered an escrow service that was different from the original terms as required/requested by the original poster. You won't get a negative tag for offering escrow as your own standalone service.

But as @OgNasty has stated, it would be more beneficial to establish trust before being able to become a trusted escrow.
138  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Common Q&A about bitcoin: non-technical edition. How much do YOU know? on: July 23, 2018, 07:11:45 PM
You all don't need to answer these questions so technically. Chances are that most bitcoin noobs won't understand any of these terms, and that they'll be more confused than before you answered the question.

Review the original list of questions, and try to answer them in terms that are easy to understand for people that have never experienced crypto.

Good luck, all!

Don't know where the troll is coming from, but sounds like a disgruntled campaign reject, if you ask me Roll Eyes
He's been trolling ChipMixer's campaign thread for as long as I can remember. He started trolling here only a few hours after he tried applied for BitBlender's campaign:
Username/UID: Gyrsur/62358
Enrolled on probation.
thank you, Sir! I'll try my best.
His posts aren't good enough to join ChipMixer's signature campaign (just 25 Merit earned in 6 months), and now he must reach a minimum of 20 posts per week to get paid.

The "Sir" was a dead giveaway.

I've added him to my ignore list.
