Yeah the Beretta 92FS very nice pistol (I fired it when in the Army) used a lot by Riggs in Lethal Weapon.

The more Crimecoin's you have then I guess the closer you get to the likes of Scarface maybe? :-)

Shouldn't the conf be named "crimecoin.conf" instead of "crimcoin.conf"? Wink

lol yeah, I will line it and fix it. This really is a Crime ANN :-)
563  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / [ANN] Crimecoin Released Version 1.2 09/08/13 on: August 01, 2013, 07:14:56 PM

Hi everyone,

I am pleased to announce Crimecoin - The Coin developed to be Crime and Black Market Resistant.

The aim of this project is to address the current major issue with Crypto-Currencies for their increasing use for illegal activities. You might now be thinking how would this work and is the name of this coin counter productive towards the projects aim but sometimes the more simple the solution, the higher the chances of it working.

This is just my opinion but I do not believe that many users would actually use a dedicated "Anon" Crypto-Currency as that is going to be the first in a list of digital currencies global authorities will be monitoring, just like what has been happening with the Tor network.

What makes things even more interesting is that the Tor network is being indirectly "promoted" by many third parties as a secure and anonymous "darknet" which I believe is not the case but in fact the Tor network is monitored actively by governments probably using the Terrorist Act to get around any red tape.

I wonder why the .i2p network hardly gains any official publicly, even though it is very effective at keeping your anonymity providing you configure everything correctly and use a secure browsing policy; I imagine is is partly down to the fact that .i2p does have a steeper learning curve than Tor which is available nicely packaged with Firefox (Where are the Action Lawsuits?) but is also given a bad reputation for a long list of issues even though many of these people are heavy .i2p users and as I have used .i2p many times to see how the project is progressing, I can say that it is although not perfect (Nothing is) it is far from deserving the reputation is has in certain community groups.

With the above in mind is seems that with Reverse Psychology and a small amount of targeted marketing, a Crypto-Currency can be less likely to be used for illegal activities but can also use a basic Wallet Client with no extra "Anonymous" functionality but only some custom in client icons that any user trying to use it for illegal activities would not want anyone else to see.

No "Panic" boss button to be found here :-)

Would you believe it, I manage to sort it. It was just getting a connection from my new VPS to my Home Rig on the testnet. Now to get some mining on. If you want to get involved in this coin you are more than welcome.

The coin I am working on is going to be a strange one lol, but I like on the fence type things.

Hi everyone,

I am testing out a new coin I am developing, one command line client is on my home pc and another one a vps but I cannot get a connection between them. Only at testnet stage right now. Can anyone help please? (don't worry its not a copy and paste or premine job)

Thank you

I contacted these guys a few days ago, didn't feel like joining their forum until I think about making an order.

They emailed back saying that the 50,000 KH/s might be an overestimation due to size constrictions. I guess they want the unit as small as they can get it, reminds me a little of BFL with unit size.

I asked if they are not releasing something a little smaller and they said one was in the works.

I guess only time will tell but still they are not even asking for any money or pre orders, I take that as a good sign,

I have spoken to a few owners of websites and they will not touch VLC until the premine is sorted out.

The Bitcoin666.org has changed yet again.
573  Other / Off-topic / Scrypt Asic International on: July 30, 2013, 08:11:23 PM
As I am based in the UK I have contacted them as asked if can go for a visit and maybe take at least a photo of one working and the outside of the case. That's if they even give me their address.

I am so tempted to spend even just a small amount of BTC's of this site, even more so if there claims of a SHA/Scrypt hybrid are true.
574  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bitcoin 666 on: July 30, 2013, 08:08:40 PM
From what I have read the Bitcoin666.org site has moved one to other more in depth things now. Like the death of most altcoin bar just a few.

I am not a fan of that site due to the fact it is right about certain things and also nobody knows who made it or why.

I don't think even the bank is real.

Yeah this and your post made me laugh :-)
578  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A list of pointless points and ones with a future? on: July 30, 2013, 11:54:59 AM
That's a silly question. The only answer is an opinion. All coins take something from previous coins, whether as a benefit or just simplicity (i.e. being able to mine them on programs that already exist).

You pick one you like, then mine it. If you're going by a feature list, Bitcoin itself would be crap. It's established and valuable though, including many ways to actually use it unlike other coins. It's mostly perception and awareness and guessing which will gain either of those.

What do I mine? A few of the "new" coins off and on for the sole purpose of profit. Aside from that, if you don't know what to mine, go with a pool that offers multiple choices, like multipool or middlecoin (this one doesn't net you alt coins, but gets the profit from them by auto-converting to BTC).

I tell you want, that multicoin site look great. Thanks you letting me know about it.
579  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / A list of pointless points and ones with a future? on: July 30, 2013, 11:38:43 AM
I was wondering if we might be able to come up with a small or in this case large list of coins that are pointless and offer nothing. And then another list of the coins that are worth mining at the moment.

I have ADHD and all these coins in sending me into a multiple mining frenzy lol.
580  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XNC] XenCoin | Instant | Stable | Long term Support - New UPDATE!!! on: July 30, 2013, 11:17:51 AM
Xencoin is really nice to mine, I think the block reward is a little too high though.

Is there any change at this point that the Dev's can alter the reward amount to something a little lower and less Germany in the early 20th century?
