81  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [GPUC] GPU Coin | Mandatory Wallet Update on: August 25, 2014, 02:05:46 PM
I haven't had a syncing wallet in a long time? Any ideas Capt?

Hi there,

try addnode=31.193.130.77

It's my dedicated 27/4 one and your GPUcoin client should sync.

Any GPUcoin fans out there we should get voting for this on an exchange, it has an nice coin spread I would imagine.

I bet all the coins listed are the ones that are / were on lower difficulty and the dev's have hoarded millions of them.

1000000% pre-mine.

Create your own unique coin and don't get other coins involved in your pre-mined launch.
83  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [GPUC] GPU Coin | Mandatory Wallet Update on: August 25, 2014, 09:08:47 AM
Why?

This coin is running fine, with dedicated seednodes, a small but dedicated community, why would they "swap" their GPU coins there have spend days, maybe weeks mining for some random coin, that cannot even have it own unique release and instead sucks like a bat from other coins.

I like GPUcoin and you are having none of mine.

Thanks.
84  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Extremecoin (EXC) - MANDATORY UPGRADE VERSION 1.5 (Kimoto Gravity Well) on: August 18, 2014, 05:48:11 PM
I have moved quiet a bit of my cold storage commodities (Platinum, Gold and Silver) to raise the capital needed to get Extremecoin where it deserves to be.

A coin with a fair launch, two months worth of a 200 block reward, of which I mined like everybody else and then the drop to a 1 coin block reward, the reason being is that only dedicated supporters of EXC and others invested in Extremecoin would mine.

IMO for POW coins, mining should not be for profit but for EXC's network security, that should be a miners main priority, to help secure the coins that they already have.

This is the main reason that I find Auto-profit pools detrimental, this then makes mining just all about making profit and at the same time getting good but smaller coins stuck at high difficulty levels.

You can quote me on this:

"Extremecoin will only be profitable for the dedicated; The individuals who support it and help to secure, protect and expand its goals, in the present and for the future, as only then can we truly make a difference."

All of my focus and my efforts are going to be dedicated to Extremecoin from this point onwards.

The Extremecoin supporter forum will be online in a matter of days so we can all understand the short and long term goals of this long standing Crypto-Currency.

If anyone would like to help support this coin with services then please use the contact form on the website which is almost ready for the theme and content update.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to read this post.

Hi all,

I am back and working on Version 1.6 to fix the difficulty adjustment.

Then I will be working on the next version with a big and interesting change for the better, hold onto your EXC everyone :-)
86  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FoxCoin - A Fully Dynamic Cyptocurrency [DYING] on: August 06, 2014, 07:07:08 AM
Interesting coin.

The syncing issue is probably a hard fork due to a client update the block after it hangs on so the earlier client can sync to that block and the updated one can carry on where that finished as the checkpoints will match the blockchain with the respective clients.

This can be easily fixed with normally a line of code, maybe two to get the client to download the whole blockchain from scratch.

There is also alot going on with this wallet isn't there? It is functionality central, might aswell add in there integrated IRC chat too boot.

Very interesting coin indeed.

I can have a look at the source code if anyone wants me to, post a few suggestions?
87  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [GPUC] GPU Coin | Mandatory Wallet Update on: July 20, 2014, 01:49:55 PM
I might see if I can get this on an exchange.
88  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Extremecoin (EXC) - MANDATORY UPGRADE VERSION 1.5 (Kimoto Gravity Well) on: July 20, 2014, 01:39:13 PM
I am back now after taking some time away to clear a few things up legally do to with a none Extremecoin issue, of which is now closed.

As for Extremecoin, of which I am very passionate about and by the fact that it is still listed on BTER.com there is still interest in this coin.

My plan for the next 1.6 Version update (The code stress tested on the testnet) will get the difficulty adjustment fixed and get the blockchain moving again.

The next stage will be to set a timetable for Extremecoin to change from a POW crypto to a POS based coin, as a 1 coin block reward under POW alone is not really worth it.

More updates to come in the following weeks as I start work on the coding side.

Thanks.
89  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Biebercoin - A Crypto-Currency for all of the fans out there. on: July 18, 2014, 11:27:36 PM
any News about your plans to Switch to proof of stake ?

Omega6, who owns so many domains right now it is beyond belief, is going to hand over the logins for Biebercoin.org so I can get the development side up and running again.

I was away for a while with meeting with Lawyers etc, which I have to do time to time with successful user side only website pen testing.

All sorted now though.

I want to get Biebercoin down to a lower block reward first and get more traffic to the pool.

Its hard at the moment, as they are some fantastic coins out right now that have truly innovative future plans.

BRC is not forgotten, I am just letting everyone have a fair change to mine a load before we move on to a testnet POS or POSv system.

My advice, mine or buy BRC and hold on to it for as long as you can.

Thanks

Quiet a few people on Reddit are having problems with the client not downloading the blockchain from scratch, I am having the same problem.

Was there a change in the source code or something to make it so they these newer client will not download a fresh chain or a fork maybe?
all wallets work if you give them time, they are just slow to start. please give them hours, it will work properly

Do you know why it takes a few hours for the client to get a connection? This is a long time to have to wait for a connection, do you have any seed nodes at all?

Most new users would give up after an hour of waiting and still no connection.

We could do with an updated OP.  Some graphics, better layout etc.

We are nearly at block 20,000 which is the first halving.  Shocked

The OP has been banned so I would suggest that Twitter or the actual website be the best place for updates.

Even though I have nothing do with development in this coin, I do see a coin with potential and I will be mining / buying some.
93  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] Biebercoin - A Crypto-Currency Devoted To The Fans. on: June 29, 2014, 07:00:19 PM
Captain Chad is the dumbest and shittest developer in Crypto history.

How so?

I brought the price of BBQcoin upto it highest ever and got it added onto multiple exchanges and from at the time an overlooked and undervalued state.

Lots of people made money from Extremecoin profits and BBQcoin profits.

How did that make me a bad developer?

I left the development side, sold most of my main domains and then moved on for a while.

As many of your know that I was involved in the ScryptASIC.org website, I whoever did not run their operating but what I did in fact find that Crypto-Stocks was wide open to attack of which could have been a major one.

In the real world, nobody can just start issuing out shares to a company that is not registered and definitely not with just a 1 Bitcoin payment and an email address.

I started out in the IT work as a user side penetration tester, and Crypto-Stocks at that time failed on pretty much every single way; their T and C were just a blank "we take no responsibility" which you cannot do if you are acting as a third party.

Since then Crypto-Stocks have improve their security to an almost acceptable level but it is their responsibility to ensure that users who have lost money, be kept informed and keep records.

As it turns out, back then they kept no records of who owned which shares, how many and from who, so I had no way of compensating individuals back, of which I would do and was trying to do but Crypto-Stocks stopped replying to my emails.

Even the Police told me that it is down to the owners of Crypto-Stocks to pay back any money lost due to negligence, of which their website was riddled with it.

At this point there is nothing I can do at the moment, as I honestly do not know who bought shares and who did not, Crypto-Stocks will just not tell me and that is probably due to the fact they don't have the records.

Every company I test, always pays out to any party that has lost out due to the testing procedure, Crypto-Stocks at the time seemed to just pass the buck and leave it all to me, with no records of anything.

In order to try and build some bridges here, I am going to try and work out some way to pay back to the community and hope that one day I can build some form of trust.

Thank you all for reading.

94  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / [ANN] Biebercoin - A Crypto-Currency Devoted To The Fans. on: June 27, 2014, 04:53:00 PM
Hi all,

Now I know a one of the members of my Dev team already posted this one the other forum but since then he got banned and no reason was given.

Anyway, this coin has been out only a few weeks now but is already heading towards the 20,000 block mark, which is where the block reward drops from 10,000 BRC to 5,000.

As soon as I found this forum, I wanted to give everyone here a chance to mine a few of them 10,000 blocks before it halves.

It is already the top 12 voted coin on HitBTC so it will be good to see how it performs on there, combined with my Twitter campaign a few of us are doing, it is a serious test to see if a coin can be successful just on the name alone and not based purely on innovation, like Primecoin or a marketing machine like Dogecoin.

The website is basic as the fanbase of Bieber is varied and so I want to keep things as simple as possible which is why we are currently working on a Getting started You Tube video.

Here are the basic details:

Website : http://www.biebercoin.net (Forum link on the website)

Twitter : https://twitter.com/BiebercoinBRC

Current Global Network hash at the time of this post is : "networkhashps" : 21950060

It has been proven that there is no interest in this coin, to just dump the coins as soon as it hits an exchange, which is not a great long term profit tactic or they might be planning to slowly rise the price of this coin.

And least of all, it only takes one tweet from Bieber himself about the coin, negative or positive and it will trend like no other.

I have always used Blockchain.info and have had no problems. Maybe they are just having to expand their infrastruture to copy with the ever increasing new userbase?

I get the feeling that certain "powers" do not want to happen with Exchanges that has happened with coin creation?
98  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Extremecoin (EXC) - MANDATORY UPGRADE VERSION 1.5 (Kimoto Gravity Well) on: March 08, 2014, 08:07:18 PM
Yes I am going to be doing something about it, I am never going to stop supporting or developing this coin.

Version 1.6 is going to be released, which I am working on now, which will improve the KGW code, as the difficulty retarget is too high, add in some checkpoints to protect everyones coins and I am going to have to make it so that everyone is forced to use Version 1.6

I will also be purchasing a second dedicated server to act as another seed node now that we have more EXC users.

The website will also be getting an overhaul, making the look slicker and adding a lot more information / links to help new users get up and running faster.
99  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Extremecoin (EXC) - MANDATORY UPGRADE VERSION 1.5 (Kimoto Gravity Well) on: March 07, 2014, 09:51:06 AM
I am going to be adding a second dedicated add node and over this weekend, due to the amount of new clients EXC is getting each day. If AllScrypt.com read this, can you try downloading the block chain again but just use the main seed node and delete the peers file.

If the block count matches the block explorer but still says that it is out of sync that is normal if the current block is taking longer than the target time to be found.

This coin needs more dedicated miners to keep the blocks being found steady, 1 coin per block might not sound like much but at the moment the tread for EXC is that it retains its value even when Bitcoin increases in value and is getting more rare with each passing day so at the moment I feel that Extremecoin could be a good investment coin, I have even bought some EXC to help support growth and as I believe in what I am developing.

Once again, to let everyone know, as I did write it in bold.

Only version 1.5 of Extremecoin is valid as a client.

If you mine with any other version you could lose your coins.

As I said before, this is mandatory.

Thanks
