Any proof of "your" plane?
We have to be cautious, just in case.

I am a bit lazy to search the post where BFL state that their asic chip are already overclock and that there is still a bit room left for further overclocking.
I might search it tomorrow when I am not lazy anymore.
1185  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BTCFPGA bASIC updated from 54GH/s to 72HG/s on: November 24, 2012, 11:51:05 PM
BFL single has 8 asic chips per cluster.
Their boards and enclosure are already at final stage.
I don't think BFL has enough room to overclock the chips within a safe working enviroment.
The easiest way is give every customers 2 BFL singles for the price of 1.
2 BFL singles*8 asic chips per board=16 asic chips
Same amount chips as the bigger bASIC unit and we are all happy.

No offense Easy2Mine but as much as i'd love 2 Singles for the price of one this isn't going to happen.  You should read up a bit more on BFL's actual process and I think you'd realize that BFL shouldn't have an issue bumping up the speeds of their chips to match this...  Currently at 7.5GH per chip at 500Mhz and able to generally reach 1Ghz (if there was proper cooling).  *From the information that's been given I think it'll just take a firmware tweak to bump it up no problem.

I'm certainly no fanboy but I'm quite sure it's not an issue.  That said if I can find a way to come up with some more $$ I'd like to pick up a few of Toms bASICs asap.  Tom is using the 90nm manufacturing process for his ASICs and will generally use more electricity than BFLs 65nm process thus giving off more heat (in general) but, I think he's doing pretty damn well with what he has, and will be keeping ever other ASIC Company on their respective Toes.  I hope we all end up getting more GH/$ because of this as well as keeping our Electric bills a little more reasonable in the near future.

Now we just have to keep waiting as there're more delays from both companies because of changes made.  I hope they are minor and finish up sooner than later... Huh

BFL already overclock the asics.
If they overclock to the maximum, the singles will do 8*10 GH/s=80 GH/s.
Not all asic chips will achieve that speed and I don't think they will last long.
Despite the smaller manufacturing proces they use, BFL asics seems to run slower per chip.
BFL chips are full custom made, I think they have plenty of room to optimize teir design at the next batch.
Cablepair is using already proven and optimize design technique. I don't think Cablepair has much room left to clock their chips higher if they want their chips to be reliable.
I think he will switch to a smaller proces at the next batch to stay competive.
Just my humble opinion.

The smaller unit is upgraded from 6 asic chips in a cluster to 8 asic chips for a total of 8*4.5 GH/s=36 GH/s
The bigger unit has 2 clusters of 8 asic chips. 2*8*4.5 GH/s=72 GH/s

Each BTCFPGA asic chip can do a maximum of 14 GH/s, but it won't last long at that speed.
6 chips per cluster are more difficult to implement than 8 chips per cluster.
I personnally think that they took the advice of the board designing company to change it to a 8 cluster or 2*8 cluster board.
Cablepair has already say that he is hiring one of the best board designing company to do the job.
In my humble opinion, I think they will have a greater chance to deliver on time if they go for the 8 chips per cluster board instead the 6 chips per cluster board.
But who am I?
Only time will tell.

I vote anonymous
I vote on the video that is in my humble opionion is the best one.
There are too many good videos.
I only can vote only once.

I don't have any video myself for the contest
I respect the people spending time and effort to create the videos.

This guy invested 180k and is totally calm.
I have read so much garbage in this thread, because of what?
Because a looser can't miss a lousy 163 dollar for 1 Jalapeno.
No direct answer, only ask you to read this and read that.

I am not wasting my time anymore on this shit.
1191  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: 2-3 weeks to go until the first unboxing of a BFL ASIC?? MAYBE? on: October 26, 2012, 03:15:55 PM
I collect my bitcoins on a dedicated laptop inside a VMWare image and backup the wallet and put that backup in another house.
Just in case if my laptop got stolen.

One thing I just 'love' is people explaining their security measures. A healthy dose of paranoia goes a long way with the back stabbing that goes on these days

If you only have a few bitcoins, then I wouldn't bother to take some extra security measure.
But if you already collect more than 1k like a lot people already have hoard.
I don't think it is wise to keep your wallet unprotected.
Why would the developers of bitcoin adding a encrypt funtion into the client if NOBODY going to steal it.

Antivirus gives a lot false positives on CGminer.
If you don't trust it, then installed it only on a dedicated miner.
CGminer is TROJAN FREE.

Sorry, I can't help.
I have never seen it before either.

I restarted 1 of my rigs last month with TEAMVIEWER on my mobile phone and after the restart my 7950 in that rig only hash with 50 MH/s while the 6970 are hashing normal.
I never had any problems with TEAMVIEWER before.
Everything I try, nothing help until I uninstall all the drivers and install it again.
I also have CGminer 2.7.5 installed on that rig.
I already upgrade CGminer to the latest version now.
You try uninstall en reinstall GPU drivers already.?

I hope reinstalling drivers will help
1194  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: [Poll] What have you doing with the coins you mined? on: October 26, 2012, 03:32:05 AM
I used the coins to buy pci-e x1- pci-e x16 extenders.
My last GPU rig was built on 21 august 2012.
I am not going to build GPU rigs anymore.
I hoard most of the coins.
I used a small part of the coins to place preorders at BFL and bASIC.
If the ASICS are true and hash as promised I will order more.

I believe my prediction of 65nm will be shown to be right Smiley

Smart thinking.
I believe you are right about this, after reading BFL posts.
45 is still too expensive, even AMD is stuck at 32.
Only Intel is capable to do 22 at the moment
1196  Economy / Marketplace / Are people honest in their preorder numbers and what they have preordered? on: October 24, 2012, 01:53:58 AM
Let your thoughts flow freely.
1197  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: here's just how screwed ASIC buyers are - READ THIS if you have a preorder on: October 21, 2012, 02:05:20 PM
I have a low IQ and after reading this, I am scared now.
I fall into a scam by buying BFL asics and also buying bASIC equipment.
Will I loose my money in the near future?
Or will I aggressively adding more units to mine mining operations?
Only time will tell.
1198  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: is butterfly labs mining with those ASICs at the moment? on: October 18, 2012, 09:21:48 PM
I don't know who, but I can see that someone is already capable of turning 6 Thash/s on and off.
Probably one of the asics manufacturers doing burnin test
1199  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Is this a good rig? on: October 16, 2012, 01:38:10 AM
This is not exactly as cheap as possible in my opinion and many others.
Many miners don't buy a computercase to save money.
I myself buy the cheapest computercases I can get and modified the sidepanel to fit a 20 cm fan for cold air intake.
I then put a metal gauze in front of the fan to keep the components in the computercase dust free.
Once in a month all I have to do is to use a vacuum cleaner to get rid of the dust from the metal gauze.
Almost no dust inside the GPU fans and other fans in the computercases.
I remove all unnecesary slot covers from the computercase.
I mount the PSU upside down and use the PSU fan to blow air out of the computercase.
Together with the rearfan heat has no chance to build up because the intake and out take of air happens so fast.
When I finished building a rig, I turn the computercase upside down.
Why?
Heat moves upwards, but the heatpipes in the GPU point downwards.
Because of a stupid legacy from the past most of the motherboards are wrongly designed.
To correct this mistake I turn the case upside down.
You can check it out yourself with MSI Afterburner.
Look at the temps. when the computercase is in normal position and then look at the temps. when you turn the computercase upside down.(Cases most have good airflow)
Many miners have their GPU in the open air.
Their GPU are about 3 degree celsius lower then mine when they are new, but after 1 month it will be hotter than mine because dust is building up inside the fans.
My rigs stay at the same temps. and I don't have to shut down my rigs to clean the dust.
Beside dust building up in your GPU fans, electronics components have a much shorter life span than when you place it inside a computercase.

Save money and install your OS on a USB stick or disassemble a HDD from a broken computer.
The price of a 7970 will not rectify the increase of speed compare with a 7950.
Overclock the GPU core for faster speed. (This will increase power consumption)
Downclock the memory speed (Faster memory will not increase speed but will use more energy)
Undervolt your GPU (Your maximum speed will be a bit lesser but you save a lot energy)

A 7950 will do about 550-575 MH/s with some overclocking and undervolting when you are using CGminer.
Keep in mind that you want to pay off your rig as fast as you can, don't under estimate your power cost unless it is free.
Everything has to be build as cheap as possible.
When you have two 7970 and a sempron processor, your system will not use more than 480 watt if you overclock and undervolt it.
Your PSU is overkill unless you have future plans.
A good 850 watt PSU can easily handle 3 7970.
Save money on your motherboards and use pcie x1 to pcie x16 extenders.

Sorry for my bad English.
It took me a hour to write this shit.
Dutch was easier for me Smiley
1200  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Hardware question on: October 11, 2012, 03:57:39 PM
I don't have any 7970.
But even my 7950 don't have any problems with BF3 at highest settings.
Sapphire Radeon HD7950 - 3GB.

There must be something wrong with your drivers.
