1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Bitcoin's Price Surges and Drops Unexpectedly on: October 20, 2023, 09:24:17 PM
When Cointelegraph sneezes fake news, Bitcoin catches a cold... to the tune of $100m in short liquidations! 🤧

Anyhow, volatility of anything that has value attached being a 'good' or a 'service' is dependent on supply /demand dynamics. The mere  'fake' SEC approval of BlackRock's BITCOIN ETF was nothing but a 'TEST' if you can call it that though an insightful one since is demonstrates the seismic waves the real SEC approval will send.

Ahh, for a funnier explanation, check this: volatility is just Bitcoin's way of keeping us on our toes, at least a short-break from all these 'hacks' and 'wallet drains attacks'.
2  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Oppenheimer And The Atomic Bomb... on: October 15, 2023, 06:53:51 PM
I think the movie was a great educator to those not familiar with the concept. I feel it helped in making this a more 'known' truth.

Regarding the actual fact that Oppenheimer, the 'father of the atomic bomb,' was at the epicenter of a groundbreaking scientific achievement, is

I for one command the steadfast and conviction that Oppenheimer, the 'father of the atomic bomb' had ultimately leading him to champion the wartime.

To me the most heartfelt moment was that he also grappled with the weight of its aftermath. It's like being proud of baking the world's spiciest chili and then wondering if it was too hot to handle. Assessing his moral compass is like splitting atoms - complex!

But one thing's for sure, he was looking out for his nation's safety first and foremost & if he wasn't the one to do it the Russians would have done it anyway. It was all a political war and it wasn't of question of 'If' but 'when - and Oppenheimer with his group of elite scientists did it first, and then left pondering on the significance of his breakthrough.

If this is not bullish for you, you are a DOGE.

Agreed! And the bullish rally continues .... If this is not a sign of strength I don't know what is.

Looks like after 1/2 days of Bitcoin being rejected at above $41,000, there's another momentum building up likely caused by the Ethereum London upgrade.

Currently looks like a strong support is forming at well above $35,000. It looks to me that the cooling-off period for Bitcoin was brief and that the market is looking green again.

Three consecutive buy orders was enough to send BTC on another raly.

The orderbook confirms this bull where we see that majority of the people want to buy Bitcoin and accummulate more for what's to come ahead.

Unless we see a sharp sell-off (at this point in time this seems unlikely), we're not likely to go back to under $30,000.

So get your Bitcoin ahead of the institutional buys, and you will be glad you bought at $37,000.

5  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin current stage and price on: August 03, 2021, 04:33:38 PM
There are some people that are very bullish lately. Don't know if you guys follow options trading on Deribit but someone opened 2000 Calls with a $140000-$200000 options spread. Now for those that don't know. This is called a bull spread. What a bull spread does it makes the call option cheaper but limits the max amount of profit. So the $140K calls cost 0.02BTC while $200K calls cost 0.01BTC with year end expiry.

So somebody bought 2000 of the $140K calls for 0.02BTC and sold 2000 of the $200K calls for 0.01BTC. And their overall cost was 0.01BTC for the $140K calls. Now obviously bitcoin doesn't need to go to $140K+ for the option to make money, it just needs to start moving up way before year end and its premium will increase. So if BTC goes to like $50K in the next week, most likely this options premium will go up 50% or so.

Since 0.01BTC was the net cost, at $400 an contract, they spent $800,000 just to perform this trade. Wonder how it will pay off.

I won't pretend to fully understand how all these derivatives work but yeah, actually, bullish bets have been increasing, not decreasing since April. There is a bookie bet on BTC being above 100k price at Christmas which only pays out 1.01... 1 per cent! But there were already 150+ takers. So these are guys so confident of Bitcoin they are willing to hodl til Christmas and get it back only at 1 per cent profit. That's of course because they will have made much more on dollar appreciation.

Moves the last week are positive even now below 40k but the sense that something is coming gets a wee bit stronger every day.
A strong sentiment for BTC not too distant future is there, even with this latest rally to over 40K people held a strong sense of growth and with current prices

being between 40-37K is not a sign of weakness.

Heck, for the past months BTC stabilised around 30K which makes it possible that this Christmas will be a good time for HODLers. To my view, the markets are looking positive, wouldn't you agree?
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum where to go?? on: August 02, 2021, 05:51:35 PM

Now whats your opinion about EIP-1559 can this hardfork being a game changer for ethereum?  And whats your thought where this upgrade reach ethereum price.

The upcoming hard fork is going to improve the fee system on the Ethereum blockchain and as such I believe that the price near it's time of launch (now only a 3 days away) is going to be pumped. Many people anticipate this upgrade to results to more usage and because token utility increases by default the price too will pump. So hold on bois, something good is coming...
7  Economy / Gambling / Re: If you loose your funds don't loose the fun on: March 25, 2021, 03:01:47 PM
I risked more than I could loose

Fun is only limited when you are still playing and still has the funds but the moment you lose everything and all the money that you cannot afford to lose, I don't think its still fun to gamble. Gambling is only fun if you are always in control and that you have to be discipline as that's the only way to manage the risk effectively.

unfortunately, not many gamblers can stick to the rule about using funds that you can afford to lose.

and yes, should move to this gambling discussion board

btw, the OP becomes a poet sharing his personal experience in gambling.  Tongue maybe he can find a job in the poetry business instead of gambling. theres fun in gambling, that is, if you are not conscious with the amount your are spending, because you can afford to.

It takes a big self-discipline to respect this rule, I can't count the amount of times I completely discarded this thought, it took me a lot of time and disapointments to finally perceive gambling as a way to have fun, not to make money.

If there will be a sportsbook, I will give it a try. I only like to play on sports. I am not a bog fan of casino.
Well, yeah even I am a sports bettor and it's better to have more options on the same site, I sometimes roll dice at wolf.bet but then have to withdraw and play at another site for sports betting so if they implement sports betting soon that would be really cool.

I would also request the team to consider adding some slots if possible because although dice and other provably fair games are good but having some 3rd party slots will add a new flavor because I have to admit sometimes it feels boring to play the same game and roll dice all the time.

Really excited for the new update and also hoping that sports betting counts towards wagering as it does for other casinos/sportsbooks.

Third-party slots are definitely coming soon to wolf.bet  Smiley

Can you share the providers coming to the site?

I'm afraid I'm not exactly sure, but the team will obviously pick the most popular ones  Smiley

Got it, thanks for letting me know! If playcent is coming I'm already in!

12  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why I am confident Bitcoin price will still rise A LOT before the next big crash on: March 04, 2021, 09:57:37 AM
The thing is, we humans are defined to see patterns, and sometimes we create them where we want to see them, not doubting your prediction at all, but comparing this market with the 2017 might be an error, things can take a huge turn (even for the better) since we are seeing actions without precedents such as big companies joining in, a bigger afluence of people getting aknowledgable about bitcoin, and what 2017 did to the world was showing that going full ape into any bitcoin related business would be a mistake because most would turn on to be a scam, so people are more concerned about understanding it before buying whatever it is, which is the best outcome we could ask. In my opinion we will never see bitcoin going as down as it once was, perhaps half of what it is now would be the max, but I feel there is more trust in this ecossystem as the days go by. I believe we are far more advanced in a worldwide adoption. I won't say I'm completely bullish in the current market but I'm not as concerned as I once was. 100k is realistically possible, but I'm hoping an armageddon won't happen any time soon, if ever.

Price can not go over 20k for months.

Why not?

Because we have this problem here right now.

Looking at the markets right now, either this or something else caused/contributed to the big downtrend.

Dump it!
15  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin reach 20k $ in 2021? on: December 08, 2020, 11:30:20 AM
I think it can still happen, but now is a turning point if we consider the past. Bitcoin is a bit down already, and it can go for stabilization somewhere around $15k-$16k; it might go up again after this correction and reach $20k even before the end of 2020; it might go down and down, like it did the previous time back in 2018.

If you look at all the markets you can see that there is a small dump across all of them. This is part of a correction and I'm positive that it won't last longer than 1-2 days.

I think the stabilisation following this small correction will be around 17-19K and I think the attempt to reach over 20K is still in sight. Christmas rush is approaching and with restrictions in place people will turn to other ways of investing including crypto.

Needles to say that I believe there is still hope.
16  Economy / Speculation / Re: 3rd times the charm 20K on: December 07, 2020, 06:51:46 PM
here comes the 3rd time for 20K I think it's going to do it. Then 30K pretty quick

It failed again, I'm afraid people will start to liquidate and bitcoin will start to drop soon.
Then bad luck for them. It often happens that when you think you're done with something, that that's exactly when things start moving.

Quote
We've seen many times bitcoin have tried and failed, so I guess the confidence of investors are slowly getting lost, and we might not see an ATH this year.
We have seen many times before but not like this. This time BTC is hanging strongly and despite the resistance at above 19.5K it still manages to stabilise around 19K. It had done so for nearly a whole month - that's a sign that will either break and enter ATH or that its 'normal' level is 18-19K and there abouts.
17  Other / Meta / Re: Avatars discussion on: December 01, 2020, 09:43:35 PM
I understand that you want this option or even better a generalisation to all signature campaigns as a whole.
So this isn't going to be just for you but the rest of the users to be more easily recognised - I get it!

To be honest, you're right that personal avatars will make users easier to remember, spot, or follow but as I see it there's no much that it can be done about it. Signature campaigns are optional anyway, and if you really don't want to change your avatar you can say so (some people might accommodate for that) but in my opinion not wearing the avatar just doesn't get the full attention deserved by the signature. This is why I think on this topic you might be representing a minority...
18  Other / Meta / Re: Plagiarism as a result of cultural differences on: November 22, 2020, 01:07:24 AM
I think plagiarism on this forum is more similar to being utterly lazy in your job than academic plagiarism.
And the truth was spoken!!!

On here, most of the members are from countries where this cultural difference doesn't apply as an excuse. Even if people come from a country where plagiarism isn't a common spoken theme. The fact that they're on here means that they know something, or at least they know how to imitate that they know something, and by definition alone this means that they're at least aware of plagiarism. NO excuse!

Quote
Most of those bounty hunters treat this as a source of income AND don't want to put effort into it.
For some bounty hunters this probably applies but for those who practice plagiarism, even their career as a bounty hunter wouldn't take them far. There will be no constructive comments or contributions, no new knowledge generated and in the end this is reflected in their merit.
19  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🎲 VipGame.io - 🃏 Unique Games ⭐ Low House Edge 💲 Multi payment options on: November 15, 2020, 03:25:50 PM
Given that this casino has recently been launched the UI looks decent and I think they did a good job at the games that they provide. In addition to a

good selection of games they have also introduced some giveaways.

I'm glad to see that new projects like this do their market research and implement the strategies they need to attract traffic to their platform. Good job!

I suppose to some this doesn't look all that, but I suspect this is likely only the beginning of many more generous ones to come.
