61  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin declined 3% as the coronavirus spread in italy on: February 26, 2020, 07:40:20 PM
I highly doubt there's any relationship between the spread of the coronavirus and Bitcoin's decline.

Usually, when something significant happens that threatens to damage the traditional economy, then people often switch to assets that don't rely on the traditional economy to maintain value.

e.g. gold, commodities and other precious metals.

Because of this, cryptocurrencies like bitcoin should be surging if the coronavirus were affecting the economy.
62  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why are altcoins so fragile compared to Bitcoin? on: February 26, 2020, 07:23:00 PM
Altcoins have a much lower market cap, but are controlled by relatively few people.

Therefore even a handful of people buying in or selling out can significantly impact the price, which then leads to a ripple effect because of algorithmic trading bots.

BTC is harder to move with its $100b+ market cap.
63  Economy / Speculation / Re: Ex-Coinbase CTO Argues Bitcoin Will Likely Hit $100,000 Using Coronavirus on: February 26, 2020, 06:06:09 PM
Based on the fact that the coronovirus appears to be tanking practically every market whether traditional or crypto, I highly doubt it.

Today's bearish price action is somehow being attributed to the scare surrounding the virus, so whywould it suddenly change?

Lookslike he's just grasping at straws since his business directly benefits from such BS speculation.
64  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Keeping A Record Of Your Losses Will Make You Realize To Stop Gambling on: February 26, 2020, 05:03:18 PM
I really doubt it would stop people from gambling.

Most people know that addictive gambling will ruin them, and that they have already lost a crazy amount of money, I don't think seeing the numbers would change much.

Just how most people continue to smoke even after getting lung cancer—they just can't stop!
65  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do people compare betting and investing in bitcoin (in terms of risk)? on: February 26, 2020, 01:46:57 PM
Well, you also need to consider the fact that very few people bet their entire bankroll in a single bet, just like few people trade their entire balance at once.

They are both risky practices. Gambling is risky simply because you are always up against the house edge, while trading is risky because few traders have any idea what they're actually doing and the market can't always be predicted.

The type of risk is definitely different, since there is no house edge per se in trading, just the fees that are associated with the practice.

As such, somebody who is good at trading will likely not fair so well while gambling and vice-versa. They are just completely different.
66  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Wilder vs. Fury II: The Rematch is On on: February 26, 2020, 12:08:18 PM

You seem to contradict yourself here. I don't really believe his excuse but if it did effect him then it would have effected him from the start since he was carrying all that weight in.

What I mean is it surely had an affect on his performance overall, but the difference wouldn't be so great as to cause him to get dominated from the first round.

Deontay Wilder is a world class athlete, carrying around 20kg isnt a huge amount of weight especially when distributed over your entire body, even if he was wearing it for 15 mins.

As such, I can see how he would be slightly tired in the first round, but not to the degree that he should get completely smashed by FUry from the first 10 seconds of round 1.
67  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Wilder vs. Fury II: The Rematch is On on: February 25, 2020, 11:47:57 PM
You know what. This whole excuse about the costume thing has left a sour taste in my mouth. I've never really supported Wilder, and I'm definitely a Fury fan, however I left that fight having a little bit of respect for Wilder for the way he refused to give in. I've seem boxers take dives before, and from a much less of a beating than Wilder was given. However, waking up to the news of Wilder's excuses regarding the costume, and his statements of "Fury didn't hurt me" has made me lose all respect for him. He had a better response inside that ring when he was still concussed, yet a few days later when hes had time to absorb the loss, and the embarrassment he comes out with these absurd claims. The fact that he would have had to try on that costume, and he still decided to take about 5 minutes to walk to the ring. I knew Wilder was a one dimensional fighter, but I didn't expect him to be so blind to the fact that a heavy costume doesn't make you bleed, and not be able to throw your arms.

Its just annoying. Fury was hoping to retire after 3 fights, and we now have to wait for the "big" fight against Joshua. I'm a Fury fan, so I want him to beat Joshua, rematch with his old pal Chisora, and then retire undefeated. I don't want him to not go out with a bang, because I think Fury is the type of person that needs to do things his own way or he could have issues mentally, and not feeling fulfilled. Unless, its a loss I actually think Fury would deal with a loss very well, because he absolutely knows he would have been bested, but if he doesn't get this fight with Joshua at all I fear for his mental health. I want him to have the chance to prove himself to the world as the best of the division. Plus, us fans are going to be in for a hell of a show. I will say, the rematch with Wilder isn't going to be a boring fight. Wilder still has that potential to catch him early, and change the fight completely. Although, what I will say. He would need to knock Fury clean out, because whenever Fury has been knocked down he gets back up, and tends to win the rest of the fight. I've never seen him completely rocked. Even, when he got tagged hard by Wilder last time he got back up without his legs betraying him or anything. It was a bit of a miracle that he woke up in time as he appeared completely out for a second or two, but once he was up he was completely there, and went on to win the round.

Well if the costume really did weigh 20kg like he said then I can see that it really would have had an effect on his performance. That said though, it's his own fault and he should not be complaining about it.

I can't imagine that it would have had such an effect on his performance, considering Fury dominated him from the first second of round 1.

As far as I'm aware Fury said he still has three fights on his contract with ESPN, that's after the recent Wilder fight. So that means we will probably get another Wilder rematch, then Anthony Joshua, and then hopefully Dillian Whyte. There's absolutely no point him fighting Chisora who has already been beaten by both Whyte and Fury, so I don't want to see an old Chisora get sparked out once again.

I think the last fight should be with somebody who really deserves the title shot at the time. Maybe Usyk, Kownacki or maybe even Daniel Dubois.
68  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can bitcoin halving make cryptocurrencies reach all time high again? on: February 25, 2020, 11:28:45 PM
Unfortunately, it probably will lead to a global rally for all cryptocurrencies not just Bitcoin.

I personally don't think that Bitcoin should gain value in this way because it's not genuine growth.

Forcing value appreciation simply because of an even like this is a cop out really, and it will never be stable, hence why Bitcoin sees such crazy volatility.

Hopefully we see a slow and steady growth this time, so that it can be sustained rather than crash and dip periodically.
69  Economy / Gambling / Re: ➫ ➬ ➫ ➬ LUCKYB.IT ★★★ The legend is back! ★★★ Bigger and better than ever! ★★★ on: February 25, 2020, 11:08:02 PM
Congrats to Diku for that x130 on the red line!

It is nice to see a $13 win with a $0.1 bet, I hope to see the next x130 with max bet, that would be a 0.195 btc win or $1950...  Grin
0.195 btc max win on red line? Was it supposed to be much higher before? But too bad i don't remember how much max win we can win from red line before but it certainly much more than 0.195 btc since max win on red line with x999 was 100 bitcoin

0.195btc is the max win for the x130 multiplier on the new luckybit... But the max red for the red line is 0.0015x999... so, that's 1.5BTC.

In lucky bit classic, the max win on each line is 15BTC. So, if you want to win big then classic is the right way.

I remember those 100btc wins, but now with the current bitcoin price is complex to offer that amount to users.

Yea, most cryptocurrency casinos have now reduced their maximum bet in terms of raw BTC numbers.

But BTC is worth more than 10x more than that it was three years ago, so in absolute dollar terms, the jackpot is roughly the same size.

Overall, the odds of winning are roughly the same too.
70  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin hitting its steady price? on: February 25, 2020, 10:31:31 PM
is it safe to assume that Bitcoin is probably hitting a capped price(i.e $10k)?

Not safe to assume at all, Bitcoin is currently in a very volatile phase and it could either break up or down.

Right now, I am starting to suspect it will go down, since practically the entire cryptocurrency market has struggled for the paste week, after a month or two of solid growth.

Short term losses are likely on the horizon, but we'll probably experience a strong bounce after that.
71  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Current ICO Project Looks a Little & Is Different From Previous Years? on: February 24, 2020, 11:20:21 PM
There are fewer ICOs nowadays, because the ICO hype is practically dead.

Even developers and project managers know that nobody wants to through their money away through an ICO anymore, since investors have been burned far too many times.

I think the rate of new project development has just slowed to a near standstill, whereas those that are still going are now seeking funding from more traditional routes, such as venture capital and seed rounds.

That said, there will likely be a few outliers every now and then that still manage to pull off an ICO, but I wouldn't bother looking for these.
72  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have You Started Gambling Because You Want To Be Part Of A Gambling Campaign on: February 24, 2020, 10:17:53 PM
I'm not sure what you mean by "a gambling campaign?"

Are you referring to a signature campaign? Like the Luckyb.it one that I'm in?

If so, there's no relationship between whether you are an active gambler or not as to whether you get accepted into a campaign. The only thing that matters is your post quality and your contributions to the forum.

I'd say it's not a great idea to start gambling just because of a campaign, after all, there are more profitable ways to spend your time.
73  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Don't just hold your altcoins for a long time! on: February 24, 2020, 09:45:19 PM
Anybody holding altcoins from ICOs is probably completely wrecked by now. Most of these really didn't hold their value, particularly if they completed in the early half of 2018.

I think people should just set alerts for all their coins using something like tradingview, rather than checking all the time, otherwise that just caused unwanted anxiety.
74  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Wilder vs. Fury II: The Rematch is On on: February 24, 2020, 09:20:57 PM
Lets imagine next will be Fury vs Joshua. What Joshua could do or have, that might give him advantage over Fury.
Fury is heavy, strong, can survive destructive punches from tops like Wilder, despite he is heavy - he is fast.

Joshua vs Ruiz showed that Joshua’s defense is not perfect and 1 heavy punch can and the fight.

What Joshua should do to win Fury?

They're both big and strong, Fury is probably weaker than Joshua overall though.

However, the size and reach difference should be enough to compensate for that, plus Fury has a chin sculpted out of granite.

I think if AJ and Fury went toe to toe, Fury would probably know him out. After all, AJ goes KO'd savagely by Ruiz, there's no way that midget would do the same to Fury.
75  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Assess your gambling addiction level. on: February 19, 2020, 11:50:49 PM
Well I'd say that a lot of those descriptors are wildly inaccurate bro.

It's quite possible to plan to be a professional gambler, and even be a professional gambler and not be in debt.

Likewise, it's often possible to be warned about having a gambling issue, when actually you're a profitable player making an above-average income.

In any case, I'd say I'm a zero. I literally just play for fun whenever the mood strikes me.
76  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: So much for this "Defi" hype, BTC is on the only Decentralized Finance on: February 19, 2020, 11:32:25 PM
Code is law.

Their protocol allowed for this kind of exploit to happen, now they'll learn to do better.

Over time, these types of black swan events and hacks will weed out all the structurally flawed projects. It's for the best in the long-run.
77  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: [ANN]Cypherock X1 Wallet-Removing Single Point of Failure in Seed Phrase Storage on: February 19, 2020, 11:05:01 PM
Definitely going to be keeping track of this, I like the fact that it counters the single point of failure issue seen by the recently compromised KeepKey and Trezor wallets.

Will the price immediately go up to $299 after pre-orders are through?

Also, are you going to have an option that is supplied with only 2 or 3 CyCards?

2 or 3 cyCards are not an option currently, but we plan to make it happen in future.

The price is fixed at $299. It will definitely increase from $99 as we announce coin support and our first batch of 100 pre-orders gets done.

Don't you think $299 is a bit expensive? That price could severely limit your customer-base since it's like the cost of several other hardware wallets combined?

When do you expect pre-orders to sell out? I'm thinking about ordering one later this week.
78  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Wilder vs. Fury II: The Rematch is On on: February 19, 2020, 05:21:18 PM
2 draws in a row? thats pure  corruption.I also dont see the possibilities of knocking out Wilder and if he turns out to be aggressive this time then it would be still a gamble just like what others said on here.

I agree to the point or view that decision is somewhat isnt right but well all things do depend on judges itself and those decisions were final. This isnt the first time to see on seeing contreversial decisions though.

It do exist just like into other sport. Business as usual i shall say.

Looks like the odds of there being two draws on a row for this for these fights are only about 1 in 400.

Crazier odds have definitely occurred and still happen all the time. I actually wouldn't be surprised if it was another draw and we end up seeing a trilogy fight.

If that goes to another draw people will definitely lose interest. Realistically, I don't think it will happen. Either Wilder will straight up knock Fury out, or it will be a TKO based on the three-knockdown rule. Either that, or Fury will stay slick and not go down for a points win.
79  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: RIPPLE CEO goes on CNN , attacks Bitcoin on: February 19, 2020, 01:32:35 PM
Lmao, Brad Garlinghouse is a joke, they dump XRP on OTC desks and cause investors to lose money, but then say that Bitcoin is controlled by a foreign entity?

Brah, XRP is 100% centralized and controlled by Ripple.

If XRP is only supposed to be used to provide liquidity to banks and other financial institutions, then why the F is it trading on public exchanges?

There is no excuse to dump XRP in the way they have, such huge chunks at once with a discount too.

STOP HURTING THE COMMUNITY BRAD YOU BASTARD.
80  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Yes, the Keepkey is a worthless black bricklet on: February 19, 2020, 01:06:36 PM
I haven't suffered these same issues when using the KeepKey.

I was able to connect to ShapeShift using Chrome and you only need to register to ShapeShift if you want to exchange cryptocurrencies as far as I'm aware.

Realistically you need to balance the fact that the KeepKey is arguably the cheapest wallet on the market nowadays, the 50% off voucher going around makes it under $20 which is pretty crazy.

Sure it hasn't got amazing security and doesn't support many assets, but it's a decent first step for noobs and certainly more secure than most software wallets.

Definitely a decent stopgap for those savings for a better wallet like the Ledger Nano X.
