Seems at this point we're totally absent from this ranking. Yes. This is significant because the recent moves don't show up here yet. Probably some recent days appear in the top 50 though.

What exactly are they going to talk about at the Senate meeting? I'm not from US so did not follow any of that news... tnx
It's just an investigation. A learning process for Senators about a new economic phenomenon. A report of their findings is probably months away, legislation (which needs to be initiated in Congress) - a year or two after that. Other countries may follow this course independently or use anything coming out of the US to shape their own legislative response. Meanwhile Bitcoin grows and the price fluctuates based upon market conditions and sentiment as usual.

That's because it is worth $10,000, not because it is 25 bitcoins. 10k is the declaration threshold for cash (foreign or domestic currency).

Panel II
Ernie Allen President and Chief Executive Officer The International Centre for Missing & Exploited ChildrenI think there is a chance the bitcoin representatives may have to walk out on this hearing. Nothing good can come of this if they have already decided bitcoin is directly associated with child porn. Here's a website with some background on Ernie Allen. http://bringvarvarahome.org/ernie_allen.php"Mr. Allen is running two cash cows, one of which even dares to masquerade as an "international" entity without any recognition of its claimed status from the United Nations or any other multinational body."What does the Senate do to find panellists? Dart in the phonebook?

Again you are giving the foundation too much power.

Bitstamp just made an alltime high.
...and rising now 434. EDIT. These 300 BTC's buys are now like 130 000 USD =D Yes. A lot of coins have disappeared into the shadows. Used to be that 3,000 was a noteworthy buy and 300 just noise.

Here's an updater. I haven't updated for a while because I feel it is no longer interesting seeing these consecutive all-time highs, as it's a sea of bold. However, if you want an update, feel free to ask. Don't pay me for it; this takes less than 5 seconds to generate. I'll look into automating it in the future. 1. 2013-11-14: 0.40977 USD/mBTC 2. 2013-11-13: 0.37891 USD/mBTC ....... 20. 2013-10-28: 0.19485 USD/mBTC[/color] This is very good, but could you also do another list of the top 20 by % change from previous day? It will normalize the dataset.

14 BTC already! If it gets to 225 BTC then it will be larger than the donation made by the Chinese government.

The liquid magma pool of trapped fiat in MtGox seems likely to erupt again soon.

On the topic of wall observation... This is UNREAL The sky-high valuation predictions that have been in this forum for a few years are now percolating into the mainstream. For example: Fox Business repeating that Bitcoin might go to $1 million http://video.foxbusiness.com/v/2841813371001/is-bitcoin-the-currency-of-the-future/This type of headline/hype is certainly keeping the world's best asset right in the face of every investor.

I'm sure that many traders in China just love Bitcoin because it's something that keeps going up. It could represent black pearl encrusted tigerskin handbags for all they care. However, when it is generally realized that it is the perfect currency for international trade settlement, then expect a wave of factories to begin accepting btc for their exports.

How about we vote him off the foundation?
For an error in judgment, describing a tracking/taint method as a response to tackling crypolocker? No. Why not? Because that just seems over-the-top. Giving up the chair in the legal forum should be sufficient. He has done fantastic work for Bitcoin over years.

And for the last time I don't give a fuck about Bitcoin's legal status, and neither should anyone else. In fact, we should assume that's illegal and make sure our infrastructure is robust enough that it doesn't matter.
Sometimes I think you're about the only MAN on this forum, Justus. I know I'm not the only one thinking that, but since I've already long ago resigned myself to being on all the watchlists anyway, I don't mind saying it out loud. Justus: the John Connor for Bitcoin.

They forgot about the part where the virus also accepts GBP/USD/EUR payable with a moneypak or whatever...
I had never heard of moneypak until this happened, and lived in the EU for many years. Maybe Bitcoin is more famous than moneypak now.

Awesome. Thanks for the information. That seems like a great idea putting that on the miners.
I have another question, I've asked this before but I don't quite understand why it wouldn't work. Couldn't the protocol be changed so that once an address is spent, it also becomes invalid? ... What am I missing? Wouldn't this work?
The place for this is in wallet software, not the protocol. There should still be freedom of choice where someone who loves their vanity address more than their privacy can still use it (send from it) as long as they like.
