Well, both sides in the Islamic internal war between chia and sunni countries hasn't stopped interfering in others political matters. They deserve each others. No one is better than the other.

Far from me to defend Iran (I dislike both in equal terms, well, maybe some more the glorious Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, since Iran has elections), but wasn't the glorious KSA that were asking the US to bomb Iran because of their nuclear arms program, as leaked in a document published by wikileaks?

Great, at 1 usds a day of profit, your perspectives of becoming rich are very high.

Now seriously, avoid making public your profits.

If it was a huge profit, you maybe calling the attention of hackers and even the IRS. If the amount is very low, well, it can be a little pathetic.
623  Economy / Speculation / Re: Okcoin just passed Huobi in trading volume on: June 01, 2014, 03:01:41 PM
That story has been around for some time.

It's clear that OKcoin did that in the past and paid the price in reputation. But since this, I never again saw any evidence of fake volume. I follow Huobi trading a lot and their volume seems clean.

Of course, since trading is free (they were talking about implementing a fee), that allows for a rate of trading much faster than in western paid exchanges. In other terms, the velocity of trading, using the same amount of coins, is much higher.

I read mixed reports.

Some stores (specially brick stores) that started accepting bitcoin as payment complain that they spent time and money training their employees, but no ones uses bitcoin.

I wonder if Mary Magdalene was a BBW.

The Gospel of Philip (one of the so-called gnostic gospels, that were excluded from the Bible: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gospel_of_Philip) says:

"There were three who always walked with the Lord: Mary, his mother, and her sister, and Magdalene, the one who was called his companion. His sister and his mother and his companion were each a Mary."

And, in a passage often quoted, but that has missing parts:

"And the companion of [the saviour was Mar]y Ma[gda]lene. [Christ loved] M[ary] more than [all] the disci[ples, and used to] kiss her on her [missing part]. The rest of [the disciples were offended by it and expressed disapproval]. They said to him "Why do you love her more than all of us?".

Also another excluded Gospel, the Gospel of Mary says:

"Peter said to Mary, "Sister we know that the Savior loved you more than the rest of woman. Tell us the words of the Savior which you remember which you know, but we do not, nor have we heard them".

Taking in account these passages, and others in other excluded gospels, many writers say that the beloved disciple, mentioned in the canonical Gospels, was indeed Mary Magdalene, and not John, as many used to defend.

I bet this post is way over the tolerance of the Op. But I'm just quoting religious texts. I leave the conclusions to the reader.
626  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do you know if bitcoin has an intrinsic value and where it comes from? on: June 01, 2014, 03:12:28 AM
Bitcoin as an idea, something that can be implemented, could have a value, but since it's open source, it's in the public domain, so has no economic value of it own.

Bitcoin as a currency can't be valued without a supporting network, because without it it's value is 0. Therefore, doesn't make sense to separate it from the network. The network, might have some value without bitcoin, in order to support other services, but right now it's value is very low. There are only a few offering registration services on the network.

since when did bitfinex become more popular than bitstamp? Or is that just the effect of leverage?

Bitfinex and bitstamp have been changing position between them as the first western/USD exchange. Usually, Bitstamps leads, but some of its volume is made by Bitfinex users, since you can trade at bitstamp using Bitfinex. So, Bitfinex is probably the biggest western (I call it western because is managed by europeans, but it's incorporated at Hong-Kong) exchange in volume.

Those conditions are fulfilled only if you live in the US.

In most countries, including in Europe, you can buy almost nothing with bitcoin. As long as this situation endures, bitcoin won't expand for purchasing reasons, but for investing/hoarding reasons. As a means to store value and not as mean of payment.
629  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do you know if bitcoin has an intrinsic value and where it comes from? on: June 01, 2014, 01:57:18 AM
If think you meant "you can't separate that from the value" or your sentence won't have much meaning.
630  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Husband of Pakistani Stoning Victim: I Killed My First Wife to Marry Her (Video) on: June 01, 2014, 01:31:45 AM
When so much people support these practices, you can forget about external pressure being able to stop them fast.

Even the end of impunity (obvious first step), with harsh punishment with publicity, won't be easy to implement.  And people that are willing to kill their own daughter won't back down easily.
631  Other / Meta / Re: Just a question about begging [Lending section] on: June 01, 2014, 12:53:09 AM
We could have a subforum for newbies beggars, where liars could tell their stories and people would laugh out. It could be fun and, who knows, maybe sometimes one would get lucky and receive some satoshies from me (don't even think about PM me begging).
632  Economy / Economics / Re: Store of value and medium of exchange on: June 01, 2014, 12:36:28 AM
A medium of exchange should also be a measure of value. The fact that goods are priced in the same currency helps a lot making purchase decisions. Having to do all the math to be able to decide and pay daily groceries or similar items in gold or silver wouldn't be helpful.
633  Other / Meta / Re: Should bitcointalk account trading be banned? on: June 01, 2014, 12:23:28 AM
Of course, allowing it makes selling accounts much easier. Selling them outside the forum would limit the number of accounts sold.

But in doubt the rule should be freedom, not prohibition.
634  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Christians’ Love Of The Warfare State Is Killing Other Christians on: June 01, 2014, 12:10:07 AM
Lets face it, religion has been a good and general acceptable pretext to conquer, rob and kill others, but we have always found other pretexts to do the same to people of the same religion.

In medieval times, the church was able to end or strongly limit slavery of Christians. But after the new slaves of modern era converted to Christianity, our ancestors decided to keep them as slaves.

If the religious pretext ceased to apply, there were plenty of others.
635  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do you know if bitcoin has an intrinsic value and where it comes from? on: May 31, 2014, 11:59:42 PM
Important or not, the intrinsic value of bitcoin can not be disconnected from the value of its network. They are both part of what makes bitcoin.
636  Other / Off-topic / Re: Would you rather:... on: May 31, 2014, 11:43:05 PM
As Bob Dylan said "What’s money? A man is a success if he gets up in the morning and goes to bed at night and in between does what he wants to do".

So, nothing like doing what we like.
637  Other / Off-topic / Re: google shit plus on: May 31, 2014, 11:39:07 PM
I can't see the interest of people to expose their life to the world.

And even if they limit access to "friends", that usually is about 100 or 200 persons.

Besides, Google gets all your information to add to the tracking they usually try to do on all of us.

they just want to make you work for them for satoshis.
640  Other / Politics & Society / Re: How long would it take for Anarchy to start working? on: May 31, 2014, 11:21:47 PM
Studies suggest that paleolithic, and even the societies of the first part of the neolithic, before the first accumulation of wealth, were egalitarian societies, probably without power structures. Even the existence of a leader isn't clear. We can't find on their homes or burials any signs of power or difference of status.

So, the question isn't if we have a hierarchic nature, in the sense that we can only live in power structured societies.

The question is if a complex, urban society, where people trade daily with other people they don't know, could functioned without power. It would be great, but I don't think so.
