It depends on the alt coins you want to buy, how high you value security or privacy, the means you want to use to make a deposit, etc.

STP has been having major problems since the crackdown on liberty reserve.

I think they were never alive, therefore they are not even a zombie. I doubt they had any merchant accepting their "money" as payment.
