1  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Satoshi's 1 Million Bitcoins Legal Court Case Kleiman vs Craig Wright questions on: November 21, 2021, 01:33:30 PM
Where did you get the idea that Bitcoin developers could do something like that even if they wanted to?

No of course not, sorry if I was not clear in my reply above. This is a long con to get access to the BSV coins.

(I think) Craig’s game is:

  • Get a UK court to order the Bitcoin Core developers to move the coins
  • Obviously that will fail. But he needs this for the next steps
  • Then take that order to his BSV fork
  • Convince the miners, devs and community of BSV to give him the Satoshi coins on BSV
  • He makes millions and maybe cashes out just before BSV finally craters to zero

Of course Bitcoin is never and was never affected in the slightest. But Craig’s con involving making some idiots in the community feel that he has that power. So that they give up the Satoshi coins on his BSV fork.
2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hillary Clinton: Nation states should pay attention to the rise of crypto on: November 21, 2021, 10:27:50 AM
Funny thing is Bitcoin is more of threat to USD when the USD is handled poorly. For example when the US government prints trillions and trillions more dollars than they can recover in tax revenue, thus inflating the currency.

Basically what Hillary wants is the ability for the Gov to mess around with the US dollar without a viable alternative for their citizens.

Bitcoin changes that landscape, allowing an alternative for when their citizens say enough is enough.

So conversely it’s the government’s mismanagement of the USD that makes Bitcoin attractive and gives it more power. Hell Satoshi likely built Bitcoin as response to runaway USD inflation and printing by central banks. Satoshi spoke about that around the inception of Bitcoin and made a great point about the inflation control built into Bitcoin at its core. Not just core code but core philosophy.

Bitcoin would have less power, less reason to exist if fiat currencies like the USD were managed in the best interest of the population and not in the best interest of government power and banks power.

Hillary intelligently deflects by saying Bitcoin is the issue.
3  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Satoshi's 1 Million Bitcoins Legal Court Case Kleiman vs Craig Wright questions on: November 21, 2021, 10:17:09 AM
If Craig Wright loses, he will have to pay Kleiman 500,000 Bitcoin or the usd value of that amount.

So it is entirely likely that Craig will owe billions in USD if he losses.

Then he will use his other court case in the UK to try and force the Bitcoin Core developers to move Satoshi’s coins so he can pay the fine and profit.

Make no mistake Craig is one of the stupidest people I have ever read about. He is as dumb as they come. He is not Satoshi that much is clear even the Australian Tax Office concluded Craig was a fraud and a liar.

Craig thinks he will be able to use some court order from a uk court to move coins on Bitcoin that he cannot prove ownership. Even as others have already signed messages on old addresses Craig said were his.

(Edit: of course this isn’t possible, no court order could ever move any Bitcoin in the way Craig wants, but his long con isn’t really about Bitcoin at all, rather it’s about controlling old addresses, some of which might be the Satoshi coins, on his BSV fork)

At most he might convince the BSV devs, miners and community (nodes) to allow him to "recover" Satoshi’s BSV coins. Of course that would collapse the BSV price even further to zero. Which is also good as the only people dumber than Craig Wright are his supporters and BSV holders. Those people truly are the dumbest shits ever to walk the Earth and deserve what’s coming.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Tezos discussion on: February 11, 2021, 10:15:35 AM
God may hear you and push up XTZ value in the coming months ...

I am very impressed that Tezos does not react at all to the market situation. It feels like it's a stablecoin and the team is balancing around $ 2 on purpose.

calm among storms Grin Grin Grin

Yeah a bit too much of a stablecoin haha. Tezos could really do with an order of magnitude jump just to keep up at this point.

$30 Tezos seems like goals.
5  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Hardware wallets still aren't secure, and they never will be. Use paper wallets on: August 08, 2019, 05:38:53 PM
Stop trusting hardware wallet manufactures to protect your money.

We do need them for mass adoption however. Paper wallets can't take us the whole way.
6  Economy / Speculation / Re: Max Keiser claim Bitcoin Will Cross $15,000 This Week on: August 08, 2019, 05:35:59 PM
Meh, Max Keiser was there last time screaming about Bitcoin going up past $100,000 as thousands of people lost their life savings in the last crash.

Seriously the guy is a broken clock, ignore him.

Regarding short and medium term price movements, no one ever knows, and anyone saying otherwise is a loon.

Long term the trend is still up and that trend seems to hold water. But anything else is moot.
7  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price will go below 100 $ and then > 1,000,000 $ on: August 08, 2019, 05:33:11 PM
Bitcoin price will go below 100 $

Never ever ever going to happen for any reasonable length of time.

Outside of outlier events such as market crashes, where Bitcoin might hit $100 for a microsecond, I can't imagine any scenario that Bitcoin could sustain a price anywhere near $100.

The lower the price goes towards $1,000 the more people see the opportunity.

However I do think sub $2,000 Bitcoin is possible in the event of a Tether crash.
8  Economy / Speculation / Re: CSW apparently will dump 1M Bitcoin to crash the Market on: November 11, 2018, 03:04:40 AM
I've heard rumors from people saying that CSW (Craig Wright) will be dumping all of his "APPARENT" Bitcoins onto the market thereby crashing the market.

If he has 1 million bitcoins, or close to it and he starts to dump, in the short term (1-2 years) we will hurt a little bit, but in the long run this is the best thing that can happen to Bitcoin.

Anyone dumping a large holding does the community a good long term service. For they are redistributing their coins to many other people.

If he dumps 1 million btc over 2 years, it's likely thousands to hundreds of thousands of people will buy up these cheap btc.

This means the average holding per person goes down (makes the distribution a little less weighted towards older whales.)

And this means that there no longer exists someone with that much potential bullying power, once they manipulate and sell, it's done and over.

Just make sure you buy as much of those btc as you can! Do your part!

Although i don't believe CSW is Satoshi , I think Nick Szabo is Satoshi Nakamoto.

In all honestly I do not believe either are Satoshi.

Nick was very public about all of his developments prior to Satoshi coming on the scene. It's unlikely Nick would have felt the need to be anonymous considering he had no issue with being public before.

I think that Satoshi being anonymous was important to stop any legal action being taken against him, but Nick was freely making various advancements with Bitgold and didn't care about law enforcement. Also Nick has a law degree so perhaps he knew that there was no need to be anonymous. (And I am too paranoid).

And for sure, Craig Wright is not Satoshi, he seems to be the complete opposite.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] QRL - Announcing the Quantum Resistant Ledger on: November 11, 2018, 02:55:36 AM
Is it possible to mine immediately to a bittrex wallet, and if not, how can I transfer coins into bittrex from the pool, on the exchange, the address qrl erc20

No, everyone abandoned the project aka scam.

This is not true, the team is funded and working on this project constantly.

The biggest issue with QRL is the lack of exchanges for the mainnet coin.

It's hard to advertise people to use this crypto when no major exchange lists it.

The PoW period before PoS is actually really good for onboarding newcomers, but the exchange listing situation is really causing a lot of issues to this coins growth.
10  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: All bitcoin addresses with balance on: November 11, 2018, 02:49:50 AM
Anyone have a script to get this out of a Bitcoin core node ourselves?
11  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Axiom of Resistance (Why Craig Wright is not Satoshi) on: November 11, 2018, 02:47:20 AM

In this article, besides repeatedly denouncing bitcoin and advertising for bcash, Craig Wright is crusading against:
Quote
... a group of misguided anarchistic socialists who refuse to work within the bounds of the law wanting to cry at the world and say, we do not want law, we want to say what the world is like. It is unfortunate that many grown men still act this way.

And yet another thing that pisses me off about Craig Wright, he has this massive hard on for following the law to the letter and if he was really Satoshi, he would have never created Bitcoin.

Back when Bitcoin was created it was debatable if someone could legally issue their own currency, especially one that doesn't have KYC baked in at the protocol level. You can be sure that the Government would have attacked Craig if they knew about him creating Bitcoin in the early days, as they could have easier deemed his 'rules' (bitcoin codebase) as being him issuing a currency (Bitcoin.)

Of course by the time people started to make cryptocurrency with their names attached, (Ethereum for example) the cat was out of the bag and it was too late to do anything about it.

Like the EtherDelta founder being targeted by the SEC, if Satoshi was not anonymous it's likely they would have been taken to court in the US if they were known around 2009-2011.

Thankfully Satoshi's anonymity allowed the pandoras box to remain open long enough that by the time we get to 2013 it's too late and too many people around the world are using it. I also suspect the CIA made use of Bitcoin and thus was a reason not to make it illegal in the first few years.

Anyways, this to me points to Craig not being Satoshi. As far as the law goes he seems to be too law abiding to ever have even considered something like Bitcoin.

There is no way Craig is Satoshi, the two people are almost 100% opposites.

It's sad that some people follow him and believe all this trite.
12  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I Don't Like The Idea of BCH Being A Challenge to BTC on: November 11, 2018, 02:32:55 AM
As long as people associate CSW (Faketoshi) with Bitcoin cash we have nothing to worry about, that monkey is doing far more harm than good.

However, if the BCH community boot this loser out then perhaps this will show their community maturing and then we will need to keep a keen lookout as they could become future competition.
13  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: JUST TRANSFERED 20K USD AND BANK CHARGED ME $700 !!!! on: November 11, 2018, 02:30:43 AM
This is why we need bitcoin. I am soo sick of these central bank mafia scum controlling our finances.!!!

I just did a international wire transfer and the banks cuased me to loose $700 because of how the make a huge 3% margin with the conversion of the money from one country currency to another.Imagine those bankers sitting there in their Jacuzzis relaxing while their computers move money getting $700 or much more from all the people who send money.
D@mn mafia!!
What would you do with $700 for free??

These banks are building the own destruction by robbing people like that.It is very arrogant they should be in jail for theft and fraud.
This is why we need bitcoin!! If I used the ightning network I could have done the transaction for some pennies!

Unfortunately this is why Bitcoin isn't taking off in Australia.

We have instant (several seconds) transfer between banks in Australia which is also free.

International transfer to the UK (our most popular destination with existing family.) is about $20.

It's amazing I think Australia's banking system is the most advanced in the world.

But the downside is no one here really cares about Bitcoin, as there is very little point to owning it in Australia.

So there has been no news since the ICO? Where is the communication?

The website hasn't been updated since the ICO.

Also could you please make a discord channel, Telegram is rubbish.

If not, what board is best?
16  Economy / Speculation / Re: 2018 Cryptocurrency Crash (Elliott Wave) on: March 02, 2018, 03:55:50 AM
Cryptocurrency bubble appears to be over, and a spectacular crash and bear market seems imminent.

Man I am old! I've been hearing this for years! Haha it's like the children never learn and think they are born knowing everything.

There have been plenty of spectacular crashes, they are fun, get the heart pumping, but in the end it's all just a blip in the road ahead.

I am seeing so many people do meet ups and talk about Bitcoin and crypto currency it's is crazy. To see how far this has all come!

To think it's all over is insane, what world are you living in!

Bitcoin may bounce towards approx $15500 on Bitfinex, followed by a crash towards $7000-$8000, and then eventually to $2000-$4000.

Yawn. This is really not a novel prediction and even if it were to happen and turn into a bear market for 2018 it doesn't matter, it never has.

Are you really buying for the month to month price swings? That's a good way to get destroyed.

Try investing for a few years at least.

Majority of other cryptocurrencies may cease to exist.

And exactly what mechanic will cause this to happen? Not sure if you're aware but the founding principle of crypto is based on Nakamoto consensus which means that it's unlikely a decentralized system will die. Hell even 51% attacked coins continue to exist and process transactions.

P.S. It is most unfortunate that people of Reddit have chosen to bury, down-vote and delete all posts of this subject matter! Losses could be prevented and gains donated to charity!

Meh, anyone scared of short term losses shouldn't be in crypto currency anyway.
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [RNS] Renos - A community Based Cryptocurrency on: March 02, 2018, 03:45:03 AM
Hi,
Can someone technical tell me how you can withdraw rewards from a RNS masternode?  Do they need to stay in there for a period of time, or can I withdraw them when I want to?
My wallet froze and had to be restarted yesterday, it appears all of the rewards which were over a 100 coins each turned into multiple 2.10 rewards - where did the bigger rewards go?

Any help would be massively appreciated.
Thanks
Yes, you able withdraw your rewards at any time. and as for the bigger rewards it's not a reward it's a transaction and your reward is 2.10 RNS per transaction.

So the larger amount is a transaction that someone else has made and my node has helped succeed?  So I don't get any of that transaction amount? It seems the reward then for the masternode is smaller than for normal staking - Or am I missing something here?

Thanks

I think that the larger transaction is the entire block reward for that block and this is shown as the reward until the block is fully mature. Once it's fully mature you'll see the correct reward. On my nodes it looks like it takes a few days for this to show.

So just give it time and you'll see the 2.10 reward eventually.
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BBQCoin, the coin you want to eat. on: March 01, 2018, 05:55:20 PM
Has the codebase been kept up to date?

I wonder if there is any way to revive coins like this. It's still being mined isn't it?

Just looking at this thread is nostalgic for me.
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [RNS] Renos - A community Based Cryptocurrency on: December 19, 2017, 11:51:53 PM
All ok with Renos, but there is some lack of marketing now.
Devs are alive and working. You may see all in slack chat.

Yes marketing and word of mouth are areas that we all need to step up. Remember being on the ground floor doesn't mean what can this coin do for me, it means what can I do for this coin.

I think Renos has an exciting future ahead.
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [RNS] Renos - A community Based Cryptocurrency on: December 19, 2017, 11:48:54 PM
Why the whole team of RENOS are anonymous? Look at team section on their web-site.
Does anyone (RNS holders) bother about it?

I see no issue with the devs being anonymous.

I remember when this project stalled as its creator had some issues and could not continue. The current devs took over and rescued the project. Through their actions I can see that they are good people and I fully support their identities being hidden. Unfortunately our society attacks those working outside the norm and this can put some people at risk.
