801  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin ok in Viet Nam? on: December 20, 2023, 04:34:37 AM
There are crypto jobs in Vietnam and crypto companies that are based there like Sky Mavis for their game Axie Infinity.

That means, if they are able to operate there means to say that cryptocurrency in general there is legal and fine. Which also means that Bitcoin is totally okay there.

So, there you go and about the exchanges as suggested those can work for you but wait until a real Vietnamese comes and reply to this thread on how they do the exchange into cash.
802  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which one is fun, watching with bet or without a bet? on: December 19, 2023, 09:46:15 PM
Just take the losses and move on. There's no need to stay on that feeling when you've lost the bet while watching the game.

While it is to be enjoyed when you watch games and you want to see them win because you'll also win your money. But there's no need for you to stay on that shoe.

Look to the next games, bet again if you want to and from there start your next expectation and tune again to the game.
803  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: When do you take out your investment when in profit? on: December 19, 2023, 11:43:46 AM
Just take your profit whenever you think that you're good already. When we think that there can be more profits that is awaiting us, this makes us greedier and the result can be more disappointing when we're like that.

Speaking of my experience, it's best to take profits when you're satisfied. Take out your initial and let your profits on its own. Or take your profits and leave your capital there and let it move until the next bull run comes.

Congratulations if you have made a profit already. Just a reminder to take profit whatever it takes.
804  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to get 1 eth or 1 btc on: December 19, 2023, 04:48:00 AM
Let us get real OP. You really have to go through the old pattern.

Like what everyone suggests is to buy it. What do you need to buy it?

Money.

What do you need to have money? A job or a business. The typical things that we do when we want to buy something or if you have something to sell, you can do that as well and use that money for buying bitcoin or eth.

Or if you want, you can buy an asic miner that will cost you still money then mine BTC.

If you haven't heard of DCA or dollar cost averaging. You can follow that strat until you reach 1 btc or 1 eth through continuous and consistent accumulation or purchase of either btc or eth.
805  Economy / Economics / Re: Overleveraging, cheating, shadow margin, prostitution, crime on: December 18, 2023, 11:19:18 AM
Since your holdings are visible on the blockchain, anyone that knows your internet or wallet address can leverage your holdings against you on the corrupt exchanges for crime, prostitution, or worse.
Yes, it's visible and made public but....

But that doesn't mean that everyone who has their Bitcoins or cryptos can be known. It's all just public addresses and you won't get to know the person behind it until you know him personally and shows you that he owns it.

And for the side of exchanges, that's done through KYC. That's why it's impossible to know someone who's behind that address or wallet unless you actually know the person.
806  Economy / Gambling / Re: Betcoin.ag-🎉Celebrating 10 Years🎁-$25k NFL Promo-🎰#1 Casino-Horse Racing🐎 on: December 18, 2023, 08:20:42 AM
Two days from now, another big tournament comes for the Dota 2 community which will commence in Kuala Lumpur, the ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023.
This tournament is done yesterday and it's Team Azure Ray that has been hailed as the ESL ONE Kuala Lumpur beating the strongest with majors this year of 2023, Gaimin Gladiators.

I hope that this post did took some attention for some that are into Dota 2/esports. Anyway, there are still some small pool leagues that's happening which is the European Pro League Season 1, still this is for Dota 2. So good luck bettors.
807  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Should I buy bitcoin ETF now? on: December 18, 2023, 06:19:03 AM
Like the suggestion of everyone instead of buying a Bitcoin ETF, why not just consider of buying an actual Bitcoin that you can hold out of these exchanges?

I'm still confused as to how they work, are they like stocks or bonds?
There's not that much difference on it. It's like that you're buying but not from the crypto exchanges but from the traditional exchanges.

Bitcoin ETFs are exchange-traded funds that track the value of Bitcoin and trade on traditional market exchanges rather than cryptocurrency exchanges. They allow investors to invest in Bitcoin without having to go through the hassle of using a cryptocurrency exchange while providing leverage to its price.
808  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Secure your crypto wealth by not having it all in crypto on: December 17, 2023, 10:21:33 PM
once you have made enough, secure it, diversify in real estate, gold, etc.
I agree and thanks for the reminder. I've got some plans already and I'll diversify my profits with this coming bull run, maybe some in real estate if I can afford it and will some small business for which I think will work for me.

Everyone who's in here should also know the other investments because with crypto, while we all know that it is here to stay. You may want to diversify and explore into something new.

It's like a back up investment and asset that you may seem to want, gold? Not for me but who knows in the future if many of us from here will get on it because before we can't afford.
809  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you have a "gambling problem" which you can sometimes control for years? on: December 17, 2023, 08:43:38 PM
I know myself better so there's no gambling problem for me. I have the idea on which state of mind I am when I gamble and that also reflects with the amount of money that I use for my bankrolls.

If you can sometimes control and sometimes not your gambling activities then you clearly have a gambling problem. You're still in the denial stage because you fairly think that you're still in control of it. But no, you're not in control of it and that's just making yourself think that you are in because you still can.

Eventually, you're going to be out of it and you'll have the idea that you can't control it anymore when it becomes too much.
810  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why does the halving increase the price? on: December 17, 2023, 07:16:00 PM
An old desktop or laptop if you have will be enough. The important thing is to download the official wallet of Electrum from its official website because too many clones and fake out there.
Yes an old computer is good in a way that you will remove the wifi and bluetooth modules. Sparrow can also be used, it is a good bitcoin wallet.
Yeah, a total disconnection from the internet. IIRC, I've done this I think on my early days when I haven't bought yet my hardware wallet.

It's still realistic and the same questions will rise again when we're gone far and the prices are too much already.
How many people have $40 000 they can miss? I'd say 0.01%

I personally had about 70k in savings and spent 13k on 0.3 BTC. I was interested the whole year, but I was chasing the 10k low that we never hit.
I'm in doubt, whether I should buy 0.2 more or there will be a better opportunity.
I've seen a lot of people talking about that low and they'll start buying. But it seems that we're not going to see it anymore and this how the progress on this market is. We see higher lows every time the cycle is in and it's your call whether you'll buy soon before the halving or you'll wait a little bit longer.

That's your money so, spend them wisely.
811  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: RED ALERT:- AVOID USING ANY CRYPTO DAPP UNTIL FURTHER ANNOUNCEMENT OF SAFETY on: December 16, 2023, 08:41:59 AM
It's said that the issue with the Ledger library has been fixed. But to those that are still in fear of doing so then you just let it pass and wait for more info with the dApps that you're using.

These dApps really are vulnerable to attacks based on the history that it has got. For most of them, that's what it seems always on the news whether it is the actual dApps or just wallets that can be connected to them.

The rate of scam these days is very alarming and we need to be very careful for those of use that love to use dapp everytime anytime we want to trade in the market. It is very important for us to keep to every warning because this can safe us from stress and prevent us from falling victim to the hands of scammers losing our entire funds. Everyone need to be aware of this information to safe a lot people from losing their entire wealth in cryptocurrency.
That's one reason to always engage with the community for some news regarding these updates.
812  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why does the halving increase the price? on: December 16, 2023, 05:59:01 AM
Buying 1 BTC was realistic for many people before the first 3 halvings. Now that is no longer the case.
It's still realistic and the same questions will rise again when we're gone far and the prices are too much already.

- Why would people invest loads of money in BTC after the halving and not before?
That is because they like more confirmation that the price have already increased than to wait patiently before it goes up. We're humans and only a few believes on what we're telling to buy now and wait until the price goes up, that's their approach and strategy that's so wrong but we can't blame them.

- What is a good price range for an air gapped wallet, for someone who only manages 0.3 BTC?
I take security very seriously. I'm in doubt between coldcard and Ngrave. Both are not very cheap. Ngrave will be over 500 bucks, which I think is a lot for someone who only manages a 13k portfolio. On the other hand, the value may increase and I want to take 0 risks losing my portfolio
An old desktop or laptop if you have will be enough. The important thing is to download the official wallet of Electrum from its official website because too many clones and fake out there.
813  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A gambler takes his own life after a loss. on: December 16, 2023, 12:28:03 AM
But I wonder why should someone take his own life  just because he lost  #2.5 million to gambling an amount  equivalent to just about $3k. I can relate to his loss but taking your life is something unimaginable and unjustifiable to do.
It's because what circles to his mind when he's lost that amount of money. Is that money really his or it's just a money from another person and he gambled it with the thought that he might grow it but then ended up losing it all.

We don't know what's exact on the mind of these people when they seem to be hopeless because of their actions.

No matter the regrets suicide isn't an option to be taking as a solution , you are only leaving bigger pains  behind for your loved ones.
[...]
Question: Is there any amount lost that can make you commit suicide?
[...]
It's never been an option and no matter how big the problem is, gambling related or not, don't ever think of it. And now the question of what amount lost can make someone (not me) do it? I think that's a disturbing question and prefer not to answer.
814  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Type of gambling and Intelligence on: December 15, 2023, 06:54:42 PM
Does the type of game you play at a casino or sports you bet on show an individual's level of intelligence or how smart a person is?
Blackjack, Poker, slots, roulette, baccarat, sports betting, horse racing, betting on sociopolitical events, keno, etc.
I don't think that there's an intelligence intervention between all of those games. Many of them are luck based so, you just have to bet based on your decision and there's no integration of it with based on someone's intelligence. If you're a gambler and you think that you're highly intelligent, it won't make you feel that you're wise just because you're winning with any of those games.

And with those games like sports betting and poker, someone can make himself feel the validation that he/she might be intelligent because of the analysis and strategies that they might do. Well, on that case, it's all on you guys but IMO, there's really no association with it from it.

Much better to think that the experience is helping you out with those strategies and decisions that you'll do.
815  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Binance reaches deal to pay $4.3B settlement to American regulators on: December 15, 2023, 11:02:26 AM
IMHO, there's not that much difference at all whether they chase Binance or CZ since he's part of the company, owner of it when all of the acts had done. But then, I am not a lawyer, I am not the government so let it all be to them.

I asked that because, from my little understanding of business law, there's something called "the entity concept". This means that the person/people who own the company are different entities from the company.
Elon Musk might have a charge against him but none of his companies would be in court. Likewise, his company might have a court case, but it doesn't mean he's the person standing trial.

I may be wrong, but if Binance was committing fraud and the company was involved in it, then the whole company would be sued or at least the board that was involved, but if CZ alone was committing fraud, either through Binance or other means and the company was not involved then he'll be sued alone.
The company won't be going to court, but it's still bad news for the company because it taints their image.
I think that you are right with that because with my understanding as well, either Binance or CZ have been on the track and eyes of the regulators. But since then the bail has been made, it was for Binance so, the company is already safe at all.

Now that the litigation goes to CZ and it was for the admission of fraud that has been done during his leadership. I guess on how the company bailed out, he can also do it on his case. Otherwise, people are thinking about the same fate or close to SBF.
816  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Binance reaches deal to pay $4.3B settlement to American regulators on: December 14, 2023, 11:57:31 PM
I guess that $4B settles everything and CZ won't be ending up behind the bars. Although we're not defending him as he admitted that he committed that he's part of the money laundering based on what I've read about this case.

The thing about these charges is that they may sound different than it actually is. He pleaded guilty to breaking the Money Laundering Act, it may not necessarily mean he did money laundering. He could have broken a law or two. Regulators want to make an example of him, they said that themselves.
And that thought of mine was wrong. I thought that everything was settle with that money but it's not at least for CZ, for Binance it is.

All of these money are going to the government and we might see a lot of continuation of this case against CZ now since the attention is already gone for Binance.

IMHO, there's not that much difference at all whether they chase Binance or CZ since he's part of the company, owner of it when all of the acts had done. But then, I am not a lawyer, I am not the government so let it all be to them.
817  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are you Spending more or less money on Casino this Holiday season on: December 14, 2023, 08:37:27 PM
Even if a person wanted to gamble a little bit I doubt they will have the chance, as not only the amount of money that is spent during the holidays is higher due to all the gifts that need to be bought, but also there are a lot of things to do, so it is not as if we have a lot of free time we can dedicate to gambling, even if the bonuses some casinos may give away during the holidays can be very attractive and they may entice some to try to make some time to gamble.
Depends on what you do this holiday season. If you're a single guy and don't have a lot of things to do and you barely go with your relatives then you can dedicate that much to gambling this time.

As for me, I don't have that much time and budget to allot in gambling this season. It's about the time that we should give to anyone that we have at most times, in good and bad times.

It's not just all about the money but why not if someone's going to gift me money and tells that I can do anything with it. I'll get a portion of it and will bet on it in basketball and dota 2.  Cheesy
818  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What according to you should be the age to retire from gambling ? on: December 13, 2023, 02:40:40 PM
If the person have experienced much with gambling and he'd always ending up with losses, he had enough already and much better to have a wiser choice to retire.

But again, we go back to what you've said and combined the two of it. Anyone is free to retire whenever they think there's a valid reason and the same goes for continuing and there's no retirement age on it as long he can avail to take losses.

Actually there are still quite a lot of other alternatives that they can choose to enjoy their old age, especially if gambling activities only interfere with their lives in the sense of experiencing financial problems due to defeats that always dominate, if you are in such conditions then obviously there is no other choice but to retire and look for other activities that are also fun but not risky. Yes, that's right, it's really just a matter of choice, basically it's about whether they can bear the risk or not, if they can then please continue anyway you also feel all the good and bad effects.
It's certain that there are a lot of other things that they can do with their age and money but if gambling is one thing that makes them happy, you just can't take away on them.

Too many choices for them as they get older and that makes us also think of what fate we're going to have when we get older and if we're going to retire or not.

But I guess only time will tell when come to that point of our lives.
819  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Can you recommend a web wallet other than blockchain.info? No KYC on: December 13, 2023, 12:08:18 PM
Why a web wallet? Because you don't need to download any app for you to use them? If that's one reason, they also have their own mobile apps that their users can download. As you've mentioned blockchain.com's wallet, listen to us, any web wallet is not recommended because you don't own the private keys there.

820  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Tips on How to respond to family financial needs on: December 13, 2023, 01:43:45 AM
Those parents or people that sees their relatives, children or family members as their immediate retirement plans are part of the sandwich generation. It's hard to change that idea when you're too old enough and don't have opportunities anymore or they're limited.

But as part of the new generation, you have to break the cycle from your family and it should start from you. I agree about not to be showy that you've got a lot of family.

You're always there as a support but don't be there at all times even with nonsense asking of financial need because that burden will be entrusted to you forever even you have your own family.
