Get prepared to buy BACK!!

No fckng way. I got a couple of bitcoins back in February, just to play and test what is this. I got rid of them last week, and I am not going to buy any bitcoins or any other crap coins anymore.  If an e-currency which is actually useful for something comes up, let me know guys.

1322  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: BitCoin is NOT a Currency on: July 04, 2013, 06:11:24 PM

To my knowledge, my bitcoin last week is still a bitcoin today, so GTFO.

And what can you do with your bitcoin?
1323  Economy / Economics / Re: How long can the US dollar ponzi scheme continue? on: July 04, 2013, 01:24:47 AM
I like how boy scouts apply term "ponzi scheme" to everything they don't understand dislike.

To my understanding, the Boy Scouts is an Americunt organization designed to molest little children, isn't it?

Yes, this is what I meant. When little Americunt kids do not understand what are they talking about, they apply template words, which they heard from adults in a boy scout camp, to everything. Like with a "ponzi scheme" case.

I agree with some points of OP, but would like to make some clarifications.

Many people think that mining is about printing money (BTC). But actually, mining is about serving the network. And it is absolutely fair if p2p network is served by every peer in the network, not just by few monopolies. This is evidently not happening with bitcoin.

Did anybody think about altcoin, where transaction fees are paid with hashes cracked (or flops, or other pov), instead of coins? I mean, before being able to make a transaction a peer needs to provide some amount of computing power to serve the network. Initial distribution could be made by splitting X coins equally to each peer currently online, regardless of their hash rates, every minute or other time interval.

This way, early adopters would benefit by getting more coins, while there are few peers online. Guys with a lot of computing power would benefit by being able to make transactions faster. And nobody would be put out of business.

But, where I live, I take the money and live freely, not being a servant to anyone... so, your statement dosent make much sense...

If you're allowing the banks/government to monitor your purchases of BTC so they can track who has them and where they go just so you can make a few bucks, you're in service to the government. It's also a waste of a perfectly good P2P, decentralized, pseudonymous currency.

I don't care if a bitcoin is worth 1 cent if govt/banks keep their greasy mitts off of it.

US dudes hate their government so much. Why the hell do you happily run to vote for it every 4 years?

1328  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Somebody mining with solar panels or wind turbines? on: June 18, 2013, 09:48:46 PM

Sunny hours are not sufficient, you need to know your Insolation. Some approximation can be made of this graph http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:SolarGIS-Solar-map-Europe-en.png
Total photovoltaic pharm efficiency is about 15%, so if you have the insolation (on m2) multiply it by 0,15 and you have power which can be made by your solar system within 1 year, using 1 m2.

There is actually no need to go through such complications. Solar panels on sale are usually rated by their nominal power, i.e. maximum power which they produce under direct sunlight at normal temperature. All you need to know is a number of effective sunny hours for your area.

1329  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Somebody mining with solar panels or wind turbines? on: June 18, 2013, 09:40:04 PM
First, you need to finish a high school. In higher grades they explain what is energy and what is power. This will help you to understand what people from solar company tell you before setting up your system. And also, you will understand, that units Kw/h have no physical sense.

Assuming the crypto-coins use the same hash algorithm and only look at the proof of work rather than some other stats like % of known transactions included in the block.   51% attack is not a threat at all except for some small potential for double-spends.

No, they should not use the same hash algorithm. As long as network is vulnerable to 51% attack, a cluster with enough GPUs can crack it. The fact that neither  governments nor banks attempted to perform 51% attack on any of crypto coins while their hash rates are low means that they have no intention to do war against crypto currencies.
1331  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How governments could destroy bitcoin (for most) in one day on: June 18, 2013, 08:14:50 PM
I imagined it in more straightforward way - grab some pool owners by the balls, find where majority of asics are located, seize them and make 51% attack.

I double this point.

To hack bitcoin network you need ~70 Thash/sec cluster. GPU based cluster with this power would cost about $70M, ASIC based - just a few million $. Not a big deal for a government of any developed country. If they seize some ASICs, it would cost them even cheaper. After that they could continue to destroy every cripto coin which pops up in the future.
1332  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin should be at $13,500 ? on: June 14, 2013, 06:00:31 PM
  Have you tried using WU?

I use it every month, never had an issue. Fees used to be high in the past, but now they are quite acceptable.

I seriously considered using bitcoins or other e-money for sending money to my relatives in Ukraine, but this adds nothing but complexity.
1333  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin should be at $13,500 ? on: June 14, 2013, 04:13:52 PM
The cheapest Western Union fees are 5%, and it takes several days.

BS. Currently, WU is much faster, cheaper, safer and more convenient than bitcoins.

Sending bitcoins from address to address is easy, but getting bitcoins and converting them back to fiat is pain in the ass (at least in USA).

When price goes down People say xx sold their thousands of bitcoins so price went down
Stupids, if they sold it, someone bought it too..

When somebody wants to sell thousands of bitcoins, he needs to ask lower than market price, because otherwise he will have hard time to find enough buyers, you stupid ass.

You are the stupid actully and if that's the case why price is low, why don't all you fucking idiots place their sell order at 500$ and wait for some days.

Because some people need USD now, you stupid ape.

A lot of nice story telling.

Yep nice story telling 2000 years ago that is all happening word for word during last 10000 years.

Fixed. Don't thank me.
1339  Economy / Goods / Re: Buy Knives with Bitcoin on: June 07, 2013, 02:56:51 AM
So, instead buying bitcoins  on MtGox, a guy buys knifes for fiat and sells them for bitcoins. Not bad way of getting bitcoins. Smiley
1340  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: I asked Chipotel to accept Bitcoin... RESPONSE! on: June 05, 2013, 03:00:13 PM
Anarcho-libertarian looneys are so funny. Completely separated from reality. You really think that if you spam working people with moronic emails they will start to like stupid bitcoins? They will begin to hate you, idiots. You want your cripto-dreams to come true? Then go and produce something useful. Grow cattle and sell meat to Chipotle for bitcoins. Go grow some coffee beans and sell it to Starbucks for bitcoins. All these goods are not teleported from Mars into your local stores. They are produced by hard workers who need to eat every day, live somewhere, take care of their kids, and pay with fiat for all these services.
