> Зачем вам биткоины?
Для удовлетворения любопытства. Ни как валюта, ни как средство накопления они непригодны.
Накамоты совершили прорыв в технологии виртуальных денег, за это им честь и хвала. Можно с уверенностью утверждать, что за интернациональной цифровой валютой будущее, но это будет не биткойн.

IP address will be the same. So don't forget to change it. And never use these coins with ur old IP.
Is IP address recorded in the blockchain? No, but http://blockchain.info does it. Just checked my last transaction cffb723e5dc2c0176d1deb0739b5126403c6d603d5456474450838c2884bb7f0 , and I do not see IP address where this transaction was made from. The one on the "relayed by ip" line is not mine. Can you determine my IP using this info? P.S. Anonymity is not a big deal for me, just curious if it is really true.

couldn't BitInstant just save my bitcoin address to my name and be able to track exactly where those coins go forever using the block chain Just send your BTC to a new wallet and delete the one you used to buy bitcoins. Nobody will know, did you send your BTC to yourself or to somebody else. IP address will be the same. So don't forget to change it. And never use these coins with ur old IP. Is IP address recorded in the blockchain? No, but http://blockchain.info does it. Shit. I did not know this.

You just don't get it do you?
I am not sure you get it. Fiat and bitcoin transactions can run within same production cycle without converting BTC<->Fiat. But, currently you can not completely avoid BTC<->Fiat exchange because miners need to pay their electric bills, and they can't pay those bills with bitcoins.

Breaking the loop is most directly tied to adoption of the bitcoin Economy.
Loop: FIAT->BTC->FIAT->Consumption
Broken loop: FIAT->BTC->Consumption
Both of your loops are wrong. Correct loop would be Production -> BTC -> Consumption

It would limit the entire Bitcoin economy to just those products which can be produced completely with a Bitcoin supply chain, all raw materials, production, labor, etc solely in Bitcoins.
No, it would not. If a company can get some of supplies for fiat and some for bitcoins, then they need to sell part of their goods for fiat and part for bitcoins to cover supply costs.

I would bet every mBTC I have that Bitcoin never reaches $10. But since you can't prove that something will never happen, I will just say it.
You can still bet. When it hits $10, you lost

Safest storage for bitcoins? Make a tattoo of your private key on your penis, and tattoo of blockchain on your ass. All of us will be safe.

If you want just to track coins in your wallet, check it on blockchain.info Wallet can be offline. You need to bring it online only when you need to spend money from it.

Hi, just one more newbie emerging from the water! The question on the subject is a honest one. Usually they are early adopters of all kids of technology (even 3d for g*d's sake). I believe bitcoin, for them, would increase revenues (due to "anonymity") and decrease costs (with payments). Also it would greatly increase the bitcoin economy! Anyway, just my 0.2(BTC) Union http://stripcoin.com/http://www.strip4bit.com/

Earlier in this topic someone suggested an appreciation of less "than 5% per annum against another major currency" (basket) would be desirable. Now that seems to me to be trying to make Bitcoin like any other currency.... I would have thought that appreciation of 3 times per annum would be quite acceptable - giving appreciation of an order of magnitude (ie x10) every two years. That seems to me to be quite reasonable with a growing BTC-based economy.
If the majority approve this level of volatility, it is perfectly fine. Everybody should be able to set this limit in client settings.

Surely "adjusting supply" can be done by BTC holders themselves. Isn't that the whole point?
Yes, this is pretty much my point. And this can be done by voting. Whole order book for every currency in the world could be kept in the blockchain (from bitcoin wiki I understand that you don't need any changes in protocol for this). This book would be updated every 10 minutes. Every peer could explore this book and instruct his/her client on how bad disbalance between bids and asks he/she is going to tolerate, and confirm or reject orders based on this decision. If the community vote for crazy volatility, fine, let it be. If crazy conservatives win, slow down the horses. You would still need central exchanges. If all of them use same order book, approved by BTC community, they will not be able to affect exchange rates.
