121  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I want to fulfill my mother's dream of building a house with Bitcoin. on: October 09, 2023, 01:01:32 AM
Good luck with your hard journey, but I would suggest that you not only focus on the trading that you've stated that you are earning on it because it is not stable, maybe the market goes your way right now but tomorrow don't. Also holding Bitcoin for 4 years is a good idea but it is better to find a job if you've done your education because you can earn money in a stable way and help your parents. Building a house is your dream goal but it is better to prioritize first your family especially your father who may needs a medical attention so save when you can.
122  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Credit card gambling fuels gambling addiction on: October 08, 2023, 12:13:14 PM
Which makes me think that Credit card is far more helping to fuel gambling addiction more than anything else, you don't actually have the money, but you can still gamble, this alone will make people to lose their minds and gamble anyhow.

Blame the people, not the credit card. It's not the one that fuels the addiction but rather the person itself.

The credit card was not meant for gambling. It's served another purpose that's why don't say credit cards fuel gambling addiction.

In short, why not just blame those stupid person that allows themselves to be addicted gambler? The credit card has nothing to do with it. Besides, it's not easy to be eligible as a credit card holder. I do see that most credit cards holders are not even mostly into gambling.

Exactly, people seems to be looking for 3rd party to blame for their own mistake. If this mindset continues, there will be people who start to blame the devices (technology), the internet, the casinos, etc because these things can be said as thing that help people jump into addiction. Blaming credit card does not make any senses obviously, addiction will come even gamblers has no credit card. The chance for people to gamble when they are out of money still exist, once someone is addicted, he/she will try to get some money from different ways such as selling stuff, getting a loan, or even doing criminal like stealing.

It should always be the gambler to blame because we don't have control over ourselves and you are right that it doesn't make sense to blame credit cards as it still won't address the gambler's addiction if we ban them. Most gamblers play in cash or on their online wallets but still get addicted. I've also seen a country that bans credit cards for gambling but the gambler still finds a way to play more by borrowing money or taking out a loan. The one to blame is yourself as you are addicted to gambling and unable to control yourself.
123  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I can’t cope on my own. What do you think I should do? on: October 08, 2023, 05:19:28 AM
You've just won from their free signals now you'll want to join their VIP? This is like advertisements on TV they will show you the most attractive and appealing product so that you will buy. This is the same case with the free signal that makes you win, it is just bait so that you will avail to their VIP and then once you are in that is when they will leave you. I understand that you keep losing in your previous bet but I would say that there is something wrong or lacking when you select a team. You still need to research more and see if there are other instances where the team you choose has the possibility of losing.
124  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Stop discouraging Newbies from Bitcoin... on: October 08, 2023, 01:19:22 AM
It is not discouragement it is a hard-slap truth. People here in the forum are mature people and we ain't babysitting anyone like spoon-feeding everyone, they tell the truth and are direct to the point with no flowery words. What do you expect to say Bitcoin trading is for newbies when the truth is that people who have been trading for a few years are still losing a lot? The problem with newbies sometimes is that they are always after profit without learning it. I also haven't seen anyone discouraging newbies about Bitcoin trading they just tell to the newbie to limit his or her expectations with the truth.
125  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Invest only in Bitcoin and never invest in shitcoin on: October 07, 2023, 12:07:51 PM
People invested in shitcoin because it is cheaper than Bitcoin. They can buy tons of it and wait until the price pumps but mostly they just wait until it dies and they were also convinced by those so-called crypto influencers that it would make them rich. I wouldn't be saying to not invest in altcoins because of just what happened to you as all of us are built differently and others may knowledgeable than you. I am not an avid fan of altcoins as I only hold Bitcoin but I prefer to say invest in altcoins cautiously rather than saying do not.
126  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: They know the truth but they don't want to accept it, publicly on: October 07, 2023, 08:30:27 AM
The majority will quit if money is not involved but a lot of people really gamble for fun. Maybe I am wrong but imagine playing in a casino with your friends, are you and both of your friends really after the money? Practically speaking yes as we are hoping to win but the part of bonding and also the enjoyment with them is the first thing we want. We go to casinos to have fun rather than to make money. This is the same with drinking alcoholic beverages. Are you after the beverage you are drinking or does the bond with your friends and the conversations while drinking matter most?
127  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you gamble till old age or not on: October 07, 2023, 02:07:42 AM
It is the same with "Do you still drink beer even though you are still old?". I will still gamble as long as it doesn't affect my health or well-being. I do gamble for fun and I don't always gamble every day, only when there are big events such as sports finals. As long as I find it enjoyable I will still bet but I do see myself quitting along the way as I would be focusing more of my time on investments and businesses as we know that as we age we have less time for other things.
128  Economy / Economics / Re: I am forgetting the value of money. on: October 06, 2023, 04:54:45 PM
What can I do to remember the importance of money and spend more carefully?

Make your social media news feed flooded with news about the economy and watch documentaries about poverty. You'll be shaken up by things you see and will make you thankful for your current situation and not spend on useless things. One of the reasons for our impulsive spending is our emotions which derive from what we see on social media. We want what we see even impractical things, but if you are watching videos that have knowledge you can get on and not those toxic people bragging about their stuff you will be awakened by the reality that others struggle to earn it but here you are spending it on irrelevant things.
129  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Educate yourself to be a frugal gambler on: October 06, 2023, 01:30:34 PM
Play for fun. If you are not playing for fun, you are doing it wrong. Gambling should be done to entertain yourself only, and always remember that gambling is not a sound financial investment. I have witnessed the horrors of people who blow their kids college funds and life savings on gambling at a Casino. Don't be one of these people. Have a daily or weekly gambling budget and learn which games you like and how to play them so that you can actually have much more fun playing them than just winging any game.

It would be fun at first but until you haven't noticed that you've gotten addicted to gambling and spent countless hours playing. There are a lot of people who used to play fun but it turned into addiction since they spent too much time gambling which also led to chasing their losses. They didn't mind anything as they were only focused on chasing their losses which that is the time they were going to use their savings that were intended for others. It is best if you gamble for fun you also have to control and monitor the time you spend and act if you spend too much time immediately by stop playing for that day.
130  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My regret for not adopting bitcoin earlier. on: October 06, 2023, 11:28:43 AM
It is normal to have regrets as we are humans and one of the reasons we haven't adopted Bitcoin before is that it was new to us and we didn't trust it like the online shops before which were full of fake products. Don't get stuck on your regrets what is important now is that you will not redo the mistake of not adopting Bitcoin 10 years ago instead turn your regrets into an opportunity to learn the beauty of Bitcoin and adopt it now.

132  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Where to play Poker with bitcoin and altcoins? on: October 04, 2023, 04:31:14 AM
You might want to check Chipstars.bet. They have dedicated poker section which you can play different types of it. It support bitcoin, stablecoins, and some selected altcoins on their platform so you have many choices to choose from.

The interface looks like this so you could invite your friends together to play in 1 room. If you're alone and want to play on some random players then you click the "sit & go" tab. The only downside I see on this site is it lacks popularity. Poker rooms take some minutes before it gets full.

133  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casino is a Games of Chance and Entertainment on: October 02, 2023, 04:15:06 PM
The outcome of the majority of casino games is mostly controlled by luck rather than ability. Examples that are often used include craps, roulette, and slot machines. Players wager on numerous outcomes in these games, and the casino has an inherent advantage that ensures they will profit in the long term.
Casino gaming is a popular source of entertainment. Instead of looking at it as a means of making money, players should approach it with the intention of having fun.

There are luck-based games and skill-based games but it  doesnt o guarantee that if you are a master of that game you will win easily. It is still about luck as even those professional gamblers still lose but they just know how to control their emotions.

Having fun should be the main reason why we gamble but the problem right now is that they are going to use it as a source of income which is why they are chasing losses so that they can earn money on that day and also which also leads to more time spent gambling and lead to addiction.
134  Economy / Economics / Re: What would you do in this situation? Invest or save? on: October 02, 2023, 01:05:36 PM
Personally, I would start my business in minor scale. There is a 25% difference between desired bankroll and currently real bankroll, but that must be manageable. Do your calculations again and try cutting expenses for now, so your plan fits the 15,000$ you have. Or, you can borrow money from someone to complete the 20,000$... That involves some risk, but since we talking about investing into an asset, which will generate profit for you along the time, it might worth. Just make sure to never borrow money to invest in liabilities.

the OP and his friends should assess the real situation of their financials. and the potential of the business they want to start with. they can start with small business, but they need to see the demand of such business. study if it will truly generate revenue in the short time period that you are looking at. because once your small business is growing, you can easily expand it if the demand requires it.
but as much as possible, you should not loan money if you are not really prepared to pay for the interest that may accrued from this.

We really don't know the details of his business plan all we know is the capital that they need but if they didn't assess the situation of whether the business will strive or not then that is a huge problem as they are having a huge amount of capital without a proper business plan.

The problem if OP starts a small business first to see if that business will work is that he will still spend some money on it unless his business plan is to sell shirts which he can try to sell 10 of but if it is bigger then that would be a big problem.
135  Economy / Economics / Re: Elon Musk and the fall of Twitter on: October 02, 2023, 11:51:11 AM
Will you guys pay for Twitter if Elon Musk starts to charge a monthly membership fee? He says he wants to do that to combat bots on the site.

https://finance.yahoo.com/news/elon-musk-wants-pay-x-130014404.html

Not paying lol. There are plenty of social media platforms and I am not an active user of X only when there is crpyto news that I am checking which still has not had a big impact on me if I cannot access it if they implement that subscription fee.

It will be a big loss for Elon if he proceeds on this as there are a lot of users that don't want to spend any cents on X because they aren't getting any money from them unless they are really care on the profile that they build on twitter, luckly i was on another social media platform though ads is just annoying.
136  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Emotions dealing on: October 02, 2023, 10:35:40 AM
Not setting up stop loss can cost you a lot. I've been there and I regret it because we thought that having no SL was better because you can still come back at anytime. There are times when the price just hits SL and then comes back which we thought we shouldn't put SL in but we didn't think on the other side that what if it didn't come back?

Having SL is kind of your budget on that trade so if that was hit then that would be a sign to stop as your prediction is wrong. It is important to have it so that we won't lose more money.
137  Economy / Economics / Re: How do you deal with financial stress? on: October 02, 2023, 08:48:57 AM
That small amount can help you with your needs. Just imagine your salary is just enough for bills then you have a side hustle and that is for your daily food. Even if you earn $5 daily as a side hustle or below it can still be used to buy some food to survive on a day. Always be thankful for it because others have dreamed of them having side hustles and even finding them but still they haven't gotten lucky enough to find one.

Side hustles are really important now because of the high prices and because our salary is not enough. I am lucky to have a side hustle which helps us with our food and other needs and our main salary is for bills.
Money becomes very important when it is scarce, which is why I say that we need to focus on money at the very beginning, to make you feel secure, so that you always have a reserve of cash that will give you that peace of mind. After all, in this case, little will change for you, you will still work, earn money, make plans and achieve your goals, but at the same time you will not need to walk on the edge and worry that you will not have anything to buy food for tomorrow. Once you have savings, you can move forward with peace of mind about your finances.

You will really feel secured which I want to experience in the future as right now there are still tons of needs to pay and also salary is not enough. Most of us really want to have savings but the problem is that it won't allow us because of our income. Others may say that even a small amount is still savings which is true but still by the end of the month we can still get it because we need money.

When you're already financially stable like you already have extra money after paying bills and buying our needs then that is the time you'll save because you'll be tempted at that time to buy your wants.
138  Economy / Economics / Re: How do you manage your finances and family if your income is low range? on: October 02, 2023, 07:01:28 AM
Ive been in that situation where the biggest problem is your food and those other expenses like medical if someone got sick and if there are expenses in school. This strategy that you will do really is that you need to cook food that will last the 2 or 3 meals like you will cook breakfast that you will eat still at dinner. I know others may say that they cant do that but that is the way you can save if you have low income and you cant have another meal when we eat. Also we rarely do snacks if we do only bread and juice but this is really rare. Lastly we won't be taking any vitamins because they are very expensive.

There are other strategies but this is really what I noticed before with my parents, it is difficult as you will get jealous that other of your friends can eat at those restaurants but you can't do it you just smell their cooking as you pass by as you can't afford it.
139  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Few reasons why people are hesitant to buy or HODL bitcoin/Crypto on: October 02, 2023, 04:53:41 AM
The volatility of Bitcoin and their lack of knowledge because it is a high-risk investment and they don't understand it because most of their first impression of Bitcoin was a scam because they heard on the news that Bitcoin was used for illegal things which they think are also illegal. Aside from those reasons others are just scared to take a risk with their money as that is only their money and their mindset is that they want an investment that is 100% sure that you won't lose your money whereas there are no investments like this.
140  Economy / Economics / Re: Is academic pursues enough to get incomes? on: October 02, 2023, 03:57:49 AM
Getting a degree should be a bare minimum to all of us. You won’t instantly get rich but atleast you won’t fall under the average earners. But if you want to get rich then engage with investments and businesses. However, if you’re one with us who does not have the privilege then you have to create your own and in order to do that you also have to get a decent job to be able to save for your future investments. Only a few became rich because of profession but there are many who quite won in life because they opened their path towards investments. Also, education won’t end with the degree; it would also reflect to your success because education will help you with decision making and with ethics as well.
have to add that getting bachelor degree even masters all the way up to the peak is relatively easy these days, and what I mean is the acomodation, there are quite literally so many online bachelor degree available for many that are already working but stuck at highschool diploma and its relatively flexible scheduling too which means its true that at least getting a degree should be bare minimum. there just simply no excuse to not take one.
at least with degree it opens up opportunity that we initially doesn't have and thats enough for us to build career from scratch.
otherwise with highschool diploma, there's nothing massive in term of opportunity that we can take.

There are tons of universities offering it but the problem is only if you have money and also time because mostly those people who are taking it say that either they have money or no time to go to school but for us like no money and also busy working because we have a family to feed. I know you need to make sacrifices if you plan to have a degree whether online or in actual school because youll be busy on something aside from going to school so you manage to have time for it and sacrifice others.

There are tons of jobs that open to you when you have a degree but this only depends on what kind of degree you have because others tend to find a job with a huge salary by just being self-taught.
