821  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: is it Advisable joining Bitcoin signal group? on: July 13, 2023, 02:59:45 PM
As long as it is free, then nothing is wrong with it. You just see and observe what they are doing and don't get affected by their results because they always show off that they are earning huge amounts, and the next step they will take is open another group that is like a VIP group, which again will attract newbies to join and pay a fee. It is not really useful when it comes to this, which is why it is better to rely on yourself than those signal groups, as they are just after your money and they ain't successful.
822  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Referral bonuses are waste of time on: July 13, 2023, 01:26:42 PM
It is a shame that bonuses are not really considered seriously by the sites, as if they were something optional or just a gesture of good-will. A bonus is an agreement for someone influencing their friends or other people and promoting you image. That is not free and it takes time so if the site then scams or re-thinks is reason enough to provide public feedback and negative trust.
You are right the referral bonuses are payments for individual efforts at the end of the month and the casino is not in any way doing you a favour and they are paying you for your efforts because is not an easy task to build a referee network and they must also be actively watered for you to be able to get a good amount in referral earnings and commission and this is more also about teamwork.

So referral system takes a lot of participants but the only way the casino may do play a favour is when the bonus comes in the form of a welcome bonus,  that way the casino is doing the player a favour but even at that casino still imposes higher wagering requirements on welcome bonuses.

Referral bonus system is actually an advertisement system. It is the strongest advertisement system employed by gambling companies. This means that some parts of the money the company should be burning on promotions is channeled to referral bonuses. In a real life it is not a waste of time and according to Paxmao, it is not a favour the gambling company is doing for you. It is the reward of work done and people who knows how to convince others to play in their favourite platforms benefits from this.

That's really the focus of the referral bonus, nothing else, to advertise the website platform. And I think this is a good way if you know yourself that you are an influential person in the world of social media, use the Referral program tools.
But if not, this referral bonus is a bit ineffective for sure, it will only go to people you really know and for sure only a few of them will create an account under your link of course.

It is really the best tool for those influencers as they can earn money from it at the same time as the owner of the casino. That is why, as you can see right now in a lot of videos on social media, they are putting at the end of their videos an advertisement of the gambling platform and asking you to play so that you'll win some money, which also means that you'll register under that influencer and they can earn from it. If you are not an influencer, then for sure you only got referred by friends of yours, and you are not sure that they will sign up.
823  Economy / Economics / Re: I don't believe you on: July 13, 2023, 11:56:43 AM
It is true, if we do not use centralized exchanges, converting to fiat will be very difficult. I agree with you, I believe the people who are criticizing centralized exchanges, they still use CEX silently, I only believe what they do, and I don't believe what they say.
It will be hard where Bitcoin is banned or if there are not too many Bitcoin users. It will be hard, but still not impossible. Yes, people criticize centralized exchanges and they still use them because of the unavailability of selling or buying options! You can take me for example. I don't day I like centralized exchanges because it's changed the concept of bitcoin.

Yet I use centralized exchanges because I don't know any bitcoin in my area where I can sell my bitcoin or I can buy from someone. So, I am kinda forced to use centralized exchanges even though I don't want to use them.

Not only you but most of us, like it or not, we have no choice, and using centralized exchanges is almost an inevitable part of wanting to participate in this market. That's why I don't want and don't like to criticize them because we are still using them every day. We all know Cexs changed the concept of bitcoins, but as long as we still need them, don't badmouth them, it makes us as bad as they are. People are talking well about DEXs, but I bet not too many people use them because of the inconvenience they bring.
That is really true. It is something we are criticizing, but still we are using them as we don't have a choice, like here in my country, where do always use the CEXs because that is only available here or because that is the only thing I know that is reliable to convert my own fiat, which leaves no choice but to use them. But again, for sure, in the future, there will be the one on top, and we will be using it.
824  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hodling Bitcoin on: July 13, 2023, 10:54:17 AM
Because in 2025 the value of Bitcoin will exceed 100k. So you continue holding long term in Bitcoin.
How are you so sure about that, do not give yourself and others investment advice about BTC in this way, this is only your prediction or speculation, but you sound like you are so sure of it happening. The halving will happen before 2025 and BTC supply will be reduced, and from the previous cycles the price of BTC should go up, but nobody can say they are sure of what is going to happen, that's why you should use dca to buy and don't buy more than what you can afford to lose.
He is really expecting that price in 2025; for sure, he will be the one crying if the price doesn't  reach that time. The problem with newbies really is that they expect huge gains. If they learn trading in just one night, they think they can now earn profit from it. With just a single pump in bitcoin, they are now buying it, but it turns out it is in a support zone. Mostly, they don't have a basis for it; they just imagine these things and tell other people they are controlling the price.
825  Economy / Economics / Re: Would you prefer to own a luxury watch or invest in bitcoin or other assets? on: July 13, 2023, 09:25:54 AM
If I had enough money I would love to have a luxury watch collection but I would never prefer it over Bitcoin. Rich people mainly collect watches as a hobby and not necessarily as an investment that will generate them significant returns. A luxury item is not something that is really a necessity for anyone but there will always be a need for censorship resitant, decentralized money. Bitcoin being more accessible and having greater utility make it the better investment option.

It is more about being a collector's item, especially if it is very expensive, as only a few will use it. This is like exotic and rare cars that most of the rich are collecting, but they are just putting them in their garage and not using them. But again, there are people who like doing business on it, like buy and sell, which is still an investment, but for me, we are the same, as I do prefer bitcoin because I have more knowledge of it than those luxury watches.
826  Economy / Economics / Re: What's is daily budgets or expenses as a bitcoiner? on: July 13, 2023, 06:39:32 AM
I am not single, actually I am married with two kids, I want to emphasize here that I live in a small town in 3rd world country, not like the capital city. The minimum wage in my region is only $200 so with $300 I already have the budget for Movie Theater and eat out once a week. An average price for a portion of restaurant meal is only less than $3.  And as I said that those $300 is not including bills, only for food and expenses that is not fixed.
If we live in a small town area then a monthly income of $350 is sufficient for all expenses and monthly bills, I assume from the statements you mentioned that food costs less than $3 and maybe a mid-level restaurant category has $5-7 food costs. However, the level of expenditure of each individual is relatively different even though he lives in the same area but the main factor of spending depends on the needs and desires of each individual, but we need to apply financial management to maximize the use of funds for monthly needs and suggest some of your funds for savings.

It is also the same with us; that is the average cost if you are eating in a restaurant, but that is not the most expensive restaurant, which makes me also satisfied with it, but again, that cost is still too huge if you keep eating in the same restaurant on a daily basis. It is really indeed about how we control our spending and money because even if you live in a small town in a third world country and you are still unable to control your spending, it still doesn't matter where you live.
827  Economy / Gambling / Re: Without money, does it still qualify as gambling? on: July 13, 2023, 04:19:31 AM
Anything that involves luck is for me a gamble and gambling leads to addiction if not taken as entertainment. When you are playing to check your luck and if it involves money then that kind of entertainment gives you an adrenaline rush. That rush gives you a sense of excitement and uncertainty that is proportional to taking a risk without knowing the end. Any kind of bet without money is still a bet and yes it qualifies as gambling. It seems OP has never placed a bet in his life which might be the reason OP created this thread.

Every individuals gamblers give a different meaning and approach to gambling and likewise the addiction nature of it, but when you're making an argument with someone about sport or any other matter of discussion is not yet a gambling until you made a bet on it, the money you place will make it what to take on for the bet on what you're discussing or arguing about, so without money some will tell you it's just an argument and not gambling until you place a bet with money involved.

Dunamisx is right on the involvement of money/bets that make it gambling and if you are only involved in just discussions without any attempt to make a stake it is just an argument in the long run because what gives it the excitement is the risk of bets and what you expect from those bets and their outcome. Gambling involves quite a lot of aspects and game speculations and discussions could help in decisions making when staking the bets but nothing other than that since one can not become an addict just by engaging in gambling-related discussions.

Mostly if we are doing a gamble with nothing on the line like money, we never get into serious mode, like we just say the team or the one that we are very fans of will win and we don't really analyze it like if there are injuries like we used to when we bet with money on the line, but it doesn't mean that it is not fun because there are times that friendly betting and if the bets are tasks to be done, then it is really funny.
828  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin: risk nothing, you're risking more on: July 13, 2023, 03:12:58 AM
since 2018 which is over 5 years when I got information about Bitcoin I have lost lots of opportunity that could have changed my life because I choose to be reluctant from concrete friends advise concerning Bitcoin because, through investment of cyptocurrency many of my pals have been scammed  and the downtrend movement in 2018 also got me discouraged so i concluded that Bitcoin was not worth the risk for me, and
now I have come to regret from the discission i made due to ignorance because over the years it progress has really attracted my attention, so i met a friend who is now i successful investor and he introduced me to this platform

seeing the success, growth and progress of the platform, I want to personally appreciate the members from legendary to newbies like me for keeping this platform running and going

Thank you very much for your supports and consistency

I would treat this as a welcoming message to you even though you are really regretting and blaming yourself for not jumping onto bitcoin, but again, that is life; there are really times that we don't take those risks because we are just scared. It is important now that you've learned that lesson, and this is the right time to invest in Bitcoin as you realize its potential. Don't think of the past; now think of the future and how you can save and buy Bitcoin so that you'll ride it to the moon soon.
829  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Motivating gambling addicts to invest in bitcoins. on: July 13, 2023, 01:41:08 AM
For me, it’s actually a good move so they can easily divert their time from gambling into investing. That way, they will start minimizing their gambling losses while increasing their chance of making profits with bitcoin investment. However, we can’t just expect from them that they will never gamble again once they experience losses from their investment. Gambling addicts are even harder to motivate or even convince, and they will only divert their focus once they can prove to theirselves that investing is way more promising and is more profitable than gambling.

This is really difficult because gamblers want easy and fast money unless they really ponder that they are losing a lot in gambling, so instead they should now go to investing. But again, gamblers are not seeing this because they always think that they could get back all of their losses if they won big. That is why they still continue to bet and gamble because they have fun on it and it has a thrill while playing rather than investing because it takes time and they get easily bored on it.
830  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Success or Fail? - Talking about Gambling as a major income on: July 12, 2023, 04:16:06 PM

If anyone is making money from gambling, he or she will be very lucky indeed or maybe they are not speaking the truth. I never understand how gamblers will make money consistently. Yeah, you can have a jackpot and some lucky days where you win a lot of money through gambling, but making consistent money from gambling is not an easy task.

I think we can make sudden big money from gambling but making consistent weekly or monthly income is not possible. Those who claim this, do they have no other source of income  Huh

Earning consistently from gambling? That won't happen. Consistent income can only be obtained from a real job and not from gambling. Gambling only gives a lot of money to those who are lucky and we also don't know how many losses we experienced before getting the jackpot. Losing $1000 gambling on a few games, then hitting a $500 jackpot, seems like it would make gamblers happy when they are still losing. this is why gambling will not give you consistent results. Stop when you win big and enjoy the benefits, that's good advice.

It is really covering all. You've just won $500 one time, but if you sum up all of your bets, it will be around $1000. We know that gambling is really made for fun and not as a source of income, and if you win, then you are lucky, but if you calculate it for sure, you still lose more than you win, as most casinos are getting back your winnings if you continue to play. We are just getting blind to those wins, which is why it is not recommended as a source of income, as you aren't winning daily and you are just giving your money to the casinos.
831  Economy / Economics / Re: Methods to cut food costs on: July 12, 2023, 02:56:30 PM
It cannot be denied anymore that the price of food will continue to increase due to many factors, apart from the decreasing land for agriculture, another thing is the weather which is difficult to predict, in my country, which used to be the rainy season, but news of drought has occurred in many places, making it even more difficult for farmers.

I remember before that when the month of April to June takes place, it is very hot and all of us are going to the beach, but right now, they declare it a rainy season, which is true, and the rain is very heavy and can affect all the crops as well as cause floods. This is really due to climate change, which we should start to prevent by planting trees, but again, this will only be solved if we unite to do it.
832  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling is more important for crypto users? on: July 12, 2023, 01:24:28 PM
Why are we persuading you to gamble? Even to others, we are telling them the risk of it. It is better to find out on your own; you don't need to learn it; you just fulfill your curiosity. If you know how to navigate websites, then do gambling. I don't know why you came up with this, but if you don't want to gamble, then there is no need, as gambling is only intended for those who want to spend their money or try their luck to win big, but again, it is for entertainment purposes.
833  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My story about bitcoin and my old friend. on: July 12, 2023, 11:17:00 AM
That would be a hard slap on him, for sure, but again, we learn valuable lessons from it. On my end, I don't have those kinds of people around me. I mean, they are really interested in Bitcoin, and like before, I've told them that I've earned this kind of amount, which they also see as a good investment. Though most of my friends have doubts about it, like, if they invest, is it sure that they'll get it back or earn profit?, like that, they really know what Bitcoin really is. For sure, your friend has somewhat heard about bitcoin in the news, as we know that they are saying that Bitcoin was used in the black market, which is why he thinks so.
834  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How I waste bitcoin on: July 12, 2023, 09:31:07 AM
It is not waste; it is just that you are unlucky that your device got lost because of your carelessness. Just imagine that you are very cautious putting money on it and having second thoughts, but you are not having doubts about safeguarding it, like having backups, because that is your money, and for sure there will be a prompt saying that you should back up it on a piece of paper as you can't recover it. Also, if someone got your device, then for sure he just erased all the data there as well as your seed phrase, so for sure it is already gone.
835  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Which is better to invest in copy trading or bot on: July 12, 2023, 06:52:44 AM
The way that you are planning to invest using these tools is not the right way, and for sure, you'll be just waiting for money for both of these things. I know you want to earn profit as you want to take a shortcut on trading because you are using copy trading or bots, but again, this is not reliable because first you can't rely on them, like if the person that you copy trade will not trade for a year or the bot is not working and you can't contact the developer, plus you don't have any knowledge on trading, then sure, you'll be dead that time, and again you find another copy trading or bot, which again in a few months would be gone. Try to learn on your own so that you won't rely on others; it is better to rely on yourself.
836  Economy / Economics / Re: What's is daily budgets or expenses as a bitcoiner? on: July 12, 2023, 05:02:07 AM
I don't think I can do a daily budget, it's very different day to day, some day I will need to buy something that is very expensive, and someday I don't even buy food, because some neighbor are cooking and they give some to me. However, I usually do monthly budget that limit my expense, I live in small city in Indonesia so my monthly budget is not that much, I limit my monthly expense so it's not more $300 excluding bills.

Agree, budgeting for each day is extremely difficult, and we will never keep up because there will be things we do not anticipate. There's nothing better than a plan for each month, it's more manageable and less stressful.
$300 per month, does that mean you're unmarried and you're living alone? As a married man with children, I think such spending will not be enough even though we are both from 3rd world countries. I had kids, and my budget was almost double yours, and it wasn't easy.

I also lived in a 3rd world country, but I only budget $200 or less for food; bills and transportation like gas are excluded. It is already sort of enough if we only cook at home and do not eat at restaurants, because if we do, then that is short. I'm not sure how many are in your family, but double $300 is already huge, mostly because you are in a third-world country or you just consist of a big family with six or more family members.

Also, I do plan out both monthly and daily, like for buying some stocks like foods and canned goods, I do buy them for a month, but for raw foods, I sometimes buy them daily or weekly depending on my mood, like what I want to eat this week. It gives you freedom or makes it easy to change your plan if you like to cook other foods.
837  Economy / Economics / Re: What will you do when you have Financial Freedom? on: July 12, 2023, 03:45:06 AM
It's so beautiful to imagine being a person with financial freedom. of course there will be many dreams that can be realized, such as houses, cars, investments, and other luxuries of life. but if that happens, then I will try to make the people closest to me happy first, so that in the end I can help others to overcome life's difficulties. life is not to enrich ourselves, but we also have to help each other, so that we get true happiness. and until we die, our practices will continue to flow, as if we live in the world feeling perfect

But have we seen people who still have time when they are rich? I mostly noticed that people who got rich, like most of the top richest people in the world, are always busy working and making their empire. They have to take vacations, but they don't have the luxurious times that we have right now. Being rich should be in exchange for our time, which means we usually go to work. Unless you have inherited some wealth, you have time for yourself. This is what I've only noticed, but I do hope that if I do become financially free in the future, I still have a lot of time on my hands.
838  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin trading and gambling on: July 12, 2023, 02:37:01 AM
It's because you think of gambling as a source of income, which is why you are saying that it involves calculations like probability and also forecasting, and you think that trading is also the same, which is true, but this is where they differ: Trading was made for investing and gambling is made for fun. In gambling, even if you are calculating the risk and probability, you'll still lose, and you can't learn a lesson from it because it is a loss because the house is always on the edge, unlike in trading, where if you lose, there is something behind it, like a news story or you forgot one of your strategies. It has all the explanation, and over the years, you make fewer mistakes, unlike in gambling, which stays the same.
839  Economy / Economics / Re: Invest in Marketing on: July 12, 2023, 01:24:19 AM
Marketing is really the key to business right now, unlike before, when you could do it without marketing as the customer would spread the word of your business because it was very good. But right now, this is not possible because most businesses are investing in marketing, and if you don't follow, your business will be left behind. There is a ton of competition these days, and most customers prefer to see the most appealing posts on social media, which can attract them. That is why it is really best to invest in marketing so that everyone will discover it.
840  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How important is it to keep your bitcoin investments secret from others ? on: July 11, 2023, 04:20:53 PM
Recently, I came to read this news

https://protos.com/spanish-police-rescue-crypto-investor-kidnapped-on-holiday/

The first thing that came to my mind after reading this was that one should not talk about his crypto investments with strangers or friends as it can pose various risks. If you are active on forums like bitcointalk and involved in trades, you should not give information which can help others relate to your identity.

The image I saw in the Op's link was very painful because now that Bitcoin is not legal in our country it has to operate with a lot of secrecy. Otherwise, we are in danger because Bitcoin is a completely confidential matter, so you can't discuss Bitcoin with someone who doesn't know about Bitcoin or whom you don't trust. You may get into trouble. When you trade in Bitcoin you must keep it completely confidential and if Bitcoin was legal in our country we wouldn't be facing this problem.
I think you don't understand the point of the message posted by the OP because the situation was not about Bitcoin not being a legal tender in the country was the reason why you should keep your BTC holding secret if even BTC is legal tender in your country you still need to keep your holding secret so you won't be the target of the physical attack which exactly what happened the person used by the OP as a case study.

No matter if it is legal or illegal in your country, you shouldn't be announcing it to everyone. This is like saying to everyone by posting on social media that you are withdrawing money from an ATM, which makes you worried, right? After all, when you go to the bank, it will make you worried if someone will try to steal your money. That is why we are quiet about it so that we don't get the attention of the robbers. Always improve our security and be mindful that anyone can rob you, whether friends or family members, because people change hands for the money.
