881  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How do I become a successful Bitcoin investor as a newbies? on: July 06, 2023, 03:13:37 PM
Some spend some dollars to buy online courses and to hire a mentor because they think it's better to learn this way but it's still possible to learn without any capital. We still have this forum, Youtube and other places which provides free crypto knowledge. Learning is necessary but it's crazy how some people can skip it because they are rushing to make money.
Before we enter in the world of trading, we all want knowledge for free and that's why we choose to watch on YouTube or read books than having a mentorship. I know most of us are doing that before. Since we have in our mind the urge of earning quickly, we immediately do a trade thinking that knowledge and strategy we get from YouTube is enough. But this is a mistake, and you can only determine your mistakes when there's someone who teaches you the right thing to do, and that's what I have understood when I joined mentorships. I really regret that I didn't immediately joined a mentorship before because I loses a lot with the unorganized knowledge that I get from YouTube .

It is really better to have a mentor in trading because you have someone that you can ask questions to, or even just a friend who has been a trader for a long time and is not the actual mentor because they have more experience in it. Like before, I just remember that when I learn how to use indicators and know what their uses are, I tend to add them to my chart, which makes me confused about what to follow. At that time, a friend of mine taught me about his trading strategy and explained the indicators he uses, and he then told me that it is not necessary to put them all together, so it is really better if someone is guiding you so that you can know where or what to learn and reduce your mistakes.
882  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How is your Gambling Pattern Like? on: July 06, 2023, 01:42:40 PM
I don't have such gambling pattern, I just gamble what I have and what I want.

Remember, I'm not a gambling addict, I gamble what I have it's not mean I gamble anything I have. I make sure only gamble when I can afford to lose and it will not cause a harm to my life. This week I could gamble $10, next week I could gamble $100, the third week I could gamble $50, it's completely depend on my mood.
Thats good for you at least you are able to control your actions when gambling which is the most important thing of all, most gamblers today don't know that and they continue to gamble away big money which they have not budget for. For me I just make a fix amount am allowed to gamble away each week ,thats if the result didn't go as I planned for because I always think of the probability of me acquiring loss when gambling.

Others are unable to control themselves because of greed; others want to win back their losses, and others want to win big, which is why they keep losing. But again, we are lucky that we can control our emotions when gambling, and we should continue it. Also, it is better if we can limit our gambling habits to once a week or once a month so that we are not prone to addiction. Also, we shouldn't treat it as a source of income, as that can trigger us to bet more. Gambling is just for fun and entertainment.
883  Economy / Economics / Re: The cost of living is trying to kill the living on: July 06, 2023, 12:27:48 PM
I don't think there was ever a time where things were easy for the modern man.  As others have mentioned here in the United States we have gone through two major economic breakdowns in the last 100 years.  That would be both the Great Depression as well as the Great Recession, which was just back in 2008.

We are going through tough times right now.  There's a lot of work that needs to be done.  It's also to keep in mind not all countries are the same.  Here in the United States jobs often do raise the salary for employees to help keep up with inflation.  Now don't get me wrong, this isn't always the case, but it is in many.

I agree.

However, living right now is just becoming worst than ever, everything changes as we are changing the world as well. People are getting worst too, war is more devastating and create more chaos, more damages are being done because of evolving technology and everything. We're the one who is going to make humanity go extinct, not aliens.

If only we can achieve the true peace, no corrupt politicians, all people are united, then the world could be better, but I guess it will be impossible.

Just imagine if the world had no war and only peace. Those billions of dollars that are being invested in the military would go to other budgets that improve the lives of human beings. You are right; we go instinct just because of our own fault and not by being hit by an asteroids or invaded by aliens. But the sad truth is that people want power, and those big politicians want to be the most powerful people in the world based on military power.
884  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do you favor betting on spesific sport? on: July 06, 2023, 09:24:47 AM
Yes I think winning bet is totally depends on luck. But everyone tries their best to win bet. But winning bet becomes very difficult when one bet without understanding the games. I think we should have good idea before gambling.  We have to bet later. And if we bet without a good idea, our money will be at risk.
every gambling activity even though it is a sports bet which can be predicted also still depends on luck because sometimes the underdog team can still lose even worse if we bet on sports we don't know about and only bet on underdog teams. maybe if we are lucky we will get a win but if not, it's just like a casino game.
so the reason is clear enough that we always bet on certain sports because we always do an analysis before betting to get a win and on the one hand if we really want to try betting on other sports we can try our luck with a small amount of betting on the favorite team.

Imagine watching golf, but you don't know the sport or its mechanics, and you just bet based on how far they can hit the ball. It is really about the sports that you know and can relate to and, at the same time, have fun with because it is not only about pure betting but also about the thrill that you are feeling while watching the game. This is like the NBA, which you enjoy more because you bet on that team, and the way you cheer is like you are in a stadium. I won't be betting on other sports if I can't relate to them.
885  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I love Bitcoin on: July 06, 2023, 05:08:24 AM
Here are some valid reasons that made me to love Bitcoin:

Bitcoin is completely decentralized, which means that no government or banks can have control over it. Traditional currencies, such as fiat, for example, the US dollar, Euro, and others, are controlled by banks and governments, but Bitcoin is not controlled by anyone. It works on a P2P (peer-to-peer) network of millions of users.

i am trying just to be neutral, the decentralization concept on bitcoin is like two sides of the blade. In one side it is an advantage that like what you said but in the other side it is a disadvantage because no third party who regulate your money it means there is no party who protect your money from any disturbance. then the second reason is one of the reason scam risk on this digital money.
especially in the absence of a legal umbrella to protect, it makes digital criminals more flexible to carry out their actions. therefore we must be able to secure our wallet so that it is not hacked with tips that have been widely circulated in this forum. but from that risk I personally still love bitcoin because it provides additional income to deal with an era of soaring inflation. therefore with bitcoin it can prosper the family economy. but there are also a lot of people who hate bitcoin because they don't have any prior knowledge of investing, so get carried away with disastrous expectations

That is a personal risk, meaning it is your own fault if you get hacked, and it is also on you to secure your wallet. That is not involving Bitcoin, but all aspects of personal life. Also, bitcoins are not the answer to the soaring inflation, as Bitcoin is just a tool for another source of income, which means that you gain profit from it and are able to spend it on your necessities. It is just another way to earn extra money aside from work. Bitcoin is mostly an investment right now, with people and holders hoping for profit, which is why people love it.
886  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I sold the altcoins and invested in Bitcoin" on: July 06, 2023, 03:41:29 AM
for the long term and comfort in holding assets, bitcoin is indeed suitable for investing in the long term. we just keep it in our wallet and leave it until we get the expected profit. actually there are several altcoins that have the potential and can be invested in the long term, but it is bitcoin that has the smallest risk...although diversification is recommended, but if we have chosen bitcoin, I think it is the right thing to do
Bitcoin is the most suitable investment platform for long term investment. Investing in Bitcoin is better than investing in other coins even though they have potential. There are many altcoins in the coin market that are more risky for investment. Because we have seen many good projects in altcoins after a long period of time that become scam. In altcoins there is potential for high return on investment but should be avoided due to risk. Altcoins rise when Bitcoin price staying a good position. So it is better to choose Bitcoin for the good investment.
If we invest in Bitcoin we don't have to take much risk because Bitcoin is very reliable to me. If we think of investing in altcoins we have a little risk but there is a possibility of losing money. If we invest in Bitcoin and invest in altcoins then it might be  Could be somewhat profitable for us. But I don't know how profitable it could be for us to choose other coins besides Bitcoin. I have done this before and made good amount of profit.

No matter whether we invest in Bitcoin or altcoins, both have risks. I don't say that it doesn't have much risk because there are still a lot of people who bought at ATH years ago, and we don't know if they are still holding it or selling it at a loss, meaning the risk is too high, mostly when you don't have knowledge and just want to buy at green. With altcoins it has more risk because first ton of coins right now that you want to invest sometimes just got died because the developers and owners left and also others just dont run for a year as there are no developments on it that is why for long term Bitcoin is better but it doesn't mean that it dont have risk
887  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why are you not hodling on: July 06, 2023, 02:32:31 AM
That is mostly the reason why others are still holding it because those who join signature campaigns needed that money for their daily needs, as for sure others don't have enough income. That is why signature campaigns are very helpful, or they are really planning to improve their lives, but those people have already settled, for sure. Even for myself, that is my reason, but I now save my money because of the halving to own and accumulate bitcoin, though again, it ain't easy as we still need to survive on our daily needs.
888  Economy / Economics / Re: I cannot go home if I don't make a lot of money now!! on: July 06, 2023, 12:38:37 AM
Previously, did your mother demand that you always get good scores in a math test? If not, why should you be afraid. Excessive fear will make you more trapped in nightmares, you will find it difficult to be creative if you cannot get rid of fear. Regarding the money you have to take home depending on your job, normally in one line of work you can bring home $10 or $15 each day. Don't be too pressured to bring home $20 because you have to work overtime to get more benefits.
Remember, Money can be found, health cannot be bought. Your health is more important than having to make more money to take home.
Well I agree with you. it seems OP is always depressed and doesn't prioritize his own situation. I wish OP could be more open with his family in all situations. And I think they'll understand with every situation the OP is in. And I think what happened to OP may be caused by trauma in childhood that can be embedded into adulthood. That is when parents always demand that their children always get perfect scores. i have a friend who has parents like that. and my friend sometimes looks depressed with his life at that time. But now he is already successful.

He is really worried about everything. What's scared me most is that he got depressed thinking about it, but he worries too much to the point that he can't find a solution as he just stuck on that problem. All he needs is really his family in this kind of situation and to share it with them, because this can possibly make his eyes wide open for any possible solution or make it possible that his wife will help financially. But again, after the storm, there should be sunlight, so he'll need to go through it, just endure it, be patient, and continue working on it.
889  Economy / Economics / Re: Fast Transportation Makes Economic Turnover Faster on: July 05, 2023, 04:54:29 PM
Just imagine those foods or vegetables that have been grown in mountainous and remote areas without connected roads, where either the food is too expensive or they just can't sell it in the market as the road is unsafe, which means there will be a lack of supply in the market. Transporation is really one of the things that can improve our economy, as it brought anything from us, starting from the food that we eat to the stuff we needed for our home, as some of it is not made in our country and is imported from other countries.
890  Economy / Economics / Re: What will you do when you have Financial Freedom? on: July 05, 2023, 01:33:06 PM
I will make sure I pass down my wealth to the younger generation within my family, the upcoming generation will benefit from it and I will also help a lot of people too, I believe the importance of Bitcoin is also necessary for the upcoming generation, I imagine myself funding a big Bitcoin promotion in the future, it's been part of my plan since few years now and I hope I live to make this happen.
Well I hope you can soon realize your dream. If you want to pass on your wealth to your next generation like your children. then what you need is to prepare your children to have good financial knowledge so that what you inherit is not wasted. Because I witnessed many parents who left a lot of wealth to their children. but their children cannot maintain the wealth because they are not good at managing the wealth they get from the inheritance. so that by the second or third generation everything has been used up and not much is left.

That is also what I've noticed now since the newer generation wants to live an easy-going life and doesn't want to learn how the parents business works but wants their wealth unless parents are really guiding their children and teaching them about their business so that they can continue it and make their business continue in the following generation. I also noticed that some of their children lose interest in their business because they want to get more into technology, which is why they don't want to continue it.
891  Economy / Economics / Re: No petrol/diesel car sales by 2035/ Reality or dream? on: July 05, 2023, 10:39:47 AM
I own both electric and petrol car, not the high-end/flagship one like Tesla, BMW, or Benz tho, just mid-level car Daihatsu and Hyundai. I can vouch that monthly maintenance for electric car is less demanding and less pricy, my take is that electric car has significantly less liquid involve in their engine. I haven't need to replace the Battery so I don't know the real cost. The cost of petrol vs electric power is also significantly less, but it also because the cost of electricity today is relatively cheaper, so if the electric car become more mainstream and the electricity cost is getting higher, there might be not much of a different.

Have you ever tried petrol cars that has compressed or liquefied natural gas modification? They use tiny amount of petrol to start the car, but later switch to natural gas. Natural gas cost twice less than petrol or diesel. Natural gas is cleaner than petrol or diesel. It takes almost same amount of time to fill tank as with petrol or diesel car. You can ride same distance with natural gas as with electric battery. Natural gas modification cost around 1000 EUR, you do need to do engine maintenance every 10-15km. With electric cars you only save on oil change, oil and oil filter. That is like 100-200 EUR twice a year, but the cost of electric battery change plus battery unit will kill all the saving.

No, I have never tried, and to be honest this is the first time I have ever heard of this such modification. Are you sure that it needs maintenance for every 10-15km, because that's like half of my one-way commute daily and that's a huge drawback for most people I think.

My car battery replacement cost is estimated to be about $1000 to $1500, and it is guaranteed for 8 years, in those 8 Years span, I only need two times maintenance for the electric cars, and from what I heard it will cost $200-$250 each. For the fuel car, you are right two times maintenance of my petrol car in total is $200 ($100 each) for a year, for 8 Years it's already $1600 I could still save $100, combined with the less money I spent for fuel, and lower tax for electric vehicle, I could save a significant amount of money.

All that estimation is assuming that both cars running well and doesn't need an extra maintenance.

Sorry, it is 10-15k km. My bad. Cars that run on natural gas were popular in Europe for some time. The car consumes slightly more gas than regular petrol, but the price of the gas was 4 times lower than petrol. Often such modifications were installed on a car with high volume engines, like 3-5l. The trick was that you still got that V8 or V10 sound, but spend on fuel like you have 1.0l Yaris.

Another reason why I see that switch to only electric cars is gonna be far in future is the range electric cars can cover. How many km can you cover with your electric car with one battery charge? With my diesel sedan I can make around 1000km with 60l of diesel and spend 5min to refill to make another 1000km. Travelling with electric cars seems complicated today.

With the current technology right now, 1000km is not yet achievable, but if it is, then the problem is really charging time. Like you've said, it takes only 5 minutes to refill, whereas in electricity, it needs to be charged over night or a couple of hours, and you still need to pay it. When talking about saving time, the gasoline or diesel car will win, but if you want to save money (except maintenance, only the ratio of charger and fuel prices), then the electric car wins. This is the only part that the electric car won, as most people right now prefer the traditional one, but again, in the future, we don't know that electric cars are far better than today's car.
892  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does lottery rewards expire? on: July 05, 2023, 09:35:32 AM
Yes, you read that accurately.

If I buy several lottery tickets and then leave my account dormant for a long time, say at least 6 months, and my ticket wins the jackpot during that time.
Will anything happen to my prize money? Will the casino refund my money because I never claimed any of the rewards?

It's just a thought I've had for a while and decided to ask here in the community.

But why would you win and leave your prize at the first place and Is the casino your site or are you the co-founder?
Typically everyone who bought the lottery ticket and plays probably wins there are some specify time frame you would be given to come complain your winnings otherwise it could be withheld from you as the winner. But bear it that they always required their players to be more familiarize their ToS and of course every single players must read the team and conditions.

I also think the same, that's what the To's are for, and it may be that the case you say happens, but if the person wins and doesn't claim his prize, obviously the casino will not keep that person's money, because that's what the rules or regulations are for. , I say something, I am a very clueless person, but if I buy a ticket I must set an alarm on my phone to be aware because it is not known when we are lucky enough to win, and when it comes to casino prizes they are very juicy prizes, That is something that we should not neglect, I am clueless, but when it comes to money, nope, we must be very serious, things must be done very well, it is money, and it would be very painful if it was earned and that time passes to claim and no longer I can have it, it's to cry.

A lottery purchaser must monitor lottery ticket at his own risk and responsibility after purchasing it. Each casino expose details their lottery results and how and what time frame to claim the winnings. Now if a gambler is careless after winning the lottery he is responsible for it. Casino gambling platforms naturally do not act outside the rules. If the money is not collected within the stipulated time, even filing a complaint against them will not be effective. A gambler is therefore solely responsible for his own actions.

Casinos are happy with those unclaimed prices. Casinos are not really reminding the one who won it; it is just that they sent you an announcement that this is the list of winners, and it is your responsibility to claim it as they are not the ones responsible for it.They already put it in the terms and conditions about the durations when you can claim it, so if you missed it, then it's your problem, not the casino's, so you are right that complaints are useless, and even any reasons on it are useless.
893  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Does a Morning Routine have any Effect as a Day Trader? on: July 05, 2023, 06:06:00 AM
I keep myself in good mode all day as possible a reason why I relaxing exercise early morning before dueling with my daily task. I've seen it hard at first but I make this a habit, I eventually found huge changes. If you are totally stress-free, you can just think of the right one but if you're bothered too much, it reflects the results and was usually a mistake. When we are in trading, it doesn't just we need to have knowledge and skills but also, it was important our mind is focus on it and this what we get from having a simple routine that will remove stress.
This is what is sometimes forgotten that mental health is also important because if we continue to focus on work then we will get tired and stressed easily,
what you are doing I think is right because morning exercise will give energy and our bodies will be fresher,
so that it will support us in our work.

Mental health should be healthy like our physical health, and curing it is very difficult because there are no easy medications for it compared to our physical health. That is why that morning routine, or even just a simple morning routine and exercise, can boost our mental health and prevent us from easily getting burned out, as we know we are prone to it, especially if you work and trade at the same time. This is also my worry in myself, which is why if ever I do have time, I travel and relax so that I feel recharged and can continue to work more.
894  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gamble Responsibly on: July 05, 2023, 05:20:13 AM
~
Well I can recall that saying of Jose Rizal back when people here in our country are still somehow showing the traditional manners, but shit has changed a lot even for kids. At the age of around 8 y/o, you can see most of them doing TikTok vids already. That already made me lost my belief that youth, at least in our country, is still a sign of hope.

About the scams happening, surely even kids are purely going to be easily scammed by them although they're not just that aware yet about the usage of cryptos.

You are right, for sure, that was still relevant at that time, but now it is very difficult as we know that most of the youth are the ones who like creating chaos. We see a lot of violent youth that are involved in crimes, some of them without remorse. But again, they are really the future because, without them, there are no innovations because most of those old people have already died and they are the ones continuing them.
895  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Stories about lost Bitcoin on: July 05, 2023, 03:45:11 AM
I didn't personally lose much at all, at least not enough worthy of mentioning. However a friend of mine who used to use the silk road to buy weed and Addy in college had a created a ton of burner emails each time he went to make a purchase and he always made random names for passwords, stuff they he just simply can't remember. He said he had at least 20 or 30 coins in limbo. That just sucks lol. I check in on him from time to time.

That is a really big regret, for sure, but again, we can't learn something if we haven't experienced it. I hope he has already moved on from it, as that is really difficult to know, as we know that he just made some random password, and we know that we get lazy sometimes to think of good passwords. I am just as lucky that I was able to recover mine too; my case was in the exchange, and I just submitted KYC.
896  Economy / Economics / Re: Fix the money, Fix the world. on: July 05, 2023, 02:37:41 AM
The problem really is that the government is banning Bitcoin and they want to control things. Though there are now countries that legalize it, most of the country still doesn't want it, as we know that they want to have complete control and again control the poor. What I've just realized is that we are really working hard for the company that pays us, but we are not working on ourselves, as we just want that company to improve. OP, I think we will stay where we are now, but in the future, let's see what will happen to the statuses of Poor and Rich people.
897  Economy / Economics / Re: What roles does the poor play in the Economy? on: July 05, 2023, 01:43:37 AM

When government stimulates the economy of the country, they will create jobs that only the poor will take. Like construction laborers who will toil all day and night to pour cement on bridges and roads. The money they make keeps the economy alive that's how the money circulates as they buy stuff during paydays.

The poor guys are making all the efforts so the rich can rest assure they stay rich. This keeps the balance that's why the government always make sure there are poor people.
Well, the circulation of money is even more swift in the lower middle class. They earn and spend it right away because they need it right away to buy all their basic needs. so that the circulation of money among the lower classes runs faster which keeps the economy in balance as a result of this circulation. Very few poor people make money and can put it in savings or investments. because sometimes their income and expenses are not balanced. or mediocre.

It seems to me that this is the goal of the world's "elite". As they say at the WEF: "you'll own nothing and be happy".

Ensuring that the poorest people can't save to invest is the surest way to keep them enslaved, isn't it?

It reminds me of a drawing of freed cotton-field slaves: when they are freed, they are offered salaried work, but all their wages go to pay their rent and food ...
Well, it is true that this illustration is indeed suitable for describing how the condition of poor people today is that they are only given a salary that is only enough to meet their daily needs which makes it difficult for them to increase their financial level. Unless someone has high motivation to work harder and can make extra money from side jobs outside of their working hours by sacrificing the rest time they have.

Well, that is really what people are doing right now because, again, one job is not enough and the prices keep increasing. As you can see right now, a lot of people are asking the government to make their salaries increase so that they can cope with inflation, which other business owners disagree with because they are also affected by the inflation. That is really a problem right now, which is why others are finding multiple jobs and sacrificing their sleep so that they can earn more money for their families.
898  Other / Archival / Re: No panic while holding my Bitcoin on: July 05, 2023, 12:13:58 AM
First before i bought my first bitcoin, i first of all build a good understand of the market and how bitcoin volatility works, and also learned about the effect of external forces in determining the price of Bitcoin  such as exchange crisis and other governmental policies that can have short time effect on bitcoin.
You did good learning but it is not enough. Purely reading and learning can not help you understand it entirely. You must be in the market to digest such knowledge and feel about it. With your experience, you will know such knowledge is right or wrong.

Sure i agree with you, experience will be the reason you can understand this bitcoin or crypto currency sphere, but i do not say that you do not need to learning textual knowledge of bitcoin. You can also get experience from some one else, for example you start trading bitcoin with guidance from your friend who is already mastered on trading bitcoin. Then you can take his experience how he will do if bitcoin price is drop, when he will cut lose and when he will keep holding.

Knowledge is undoubtedly necessary, but experience is what helps us to survive in this market because there is always a big gap between knowledge and experience.  many newbies to the market also work hard to learn everything, learn about the history of bitcoin as well as gain confidence in themselves through other people's stories about the market. but when they themselves are faced with a market downturn and their money is rapidly dwindling, their knowledge can hardly help them in that situation if they lack experience.
Experience is also a big factor in controlling emotions, but when you have that knowledge and confidence, then for sure you won't be panicking because you are sure that it will bounce back. Also, it is not only about experience; it is also about emotions. When it is red days, you'll see that you start worrying even though you know that it is just temporary because you can't control your emotions, which we should also learn to control and not do dumb stuff while we have high emotions.
899  Economy / Economics / Re: A steady source of income is a man's bottom line to support his family on: July 04, 2023, 04:17:39 PM
Here steady income job is not the matter. The goodness lies on how you keep funds allocated for emergency and unexpected needs. How you allocated fund for medical insurance and retirement. One thing most people unaware of is the planning. Whenever you have the wrong plan, you gonna end it badly. This could make you work throughout your life. Proper planning lets you enjoy life through proper investment, early retirement and good savings to meet unexpected needs. Amidst the salary earned it is good to plan well with what you earn.
But how can you plan, can save, can retire early if you do not have a stable income? It can be said that having a stable income is essential for us to take into account other things because, without it, we will not be able to have any plans. I agree with OP in saying that a stable income is the key point of a man when shouldering the breadwinner responsibilities of the family. Having an income is something everyone must have, and having a stable income is a premise we can think of bigger things.

You can if you already have millions in your bank account or if you have assets that you can retire from, but if you don't have any savings and have an unstable income, that is a really huge problem as you still need to feed your family as well as save. Stable income is really about the security that you have something to spend on for basic necessities, but the problem is that there are other jobs that are stable but the salary is low, which others don't prefer as they want the bigger salary, but again, the chances are that you'll easily get fired. But for me, if I do prefer a low salary but a stable job, then that is the time I will find another job to do so that it will be another source of income and work my way up to that stable job to increase my salary. For sure, people learned a lot of lessons in the past pandemic, even myself, and you can really see at that time which jobs were really stable and not affected by it (e.g., government).

Most of the casinos right now are following the law and doing KYC, and for sure they know the age of the gamblers that are registering on the platform, so for sure they are following the law and not violating it except for those online casinos that are illegally operated and do not force KYC on the platform. In my country, the minimum age that you can gamble is 18 and above, and in other countries, it is higher, which really depends on the country.
