121  Economy / Speculation / Re: Warming warning of the BTC, ETH & the LTC Cryptos upcoming halving on: December 07, 2023, 03:25:24 AM
We will see. Litecoin's value didn't react much before and after the halving happened. Unlike Bitcoin where most of the moments during and before the halving happened its value keep on fluctuating and there's no way to predict where it will go.
Ethereum on the contrary keeps on moving wherever Bitcoin goes. The market seems to be on that behavior from the start and we can expect Ethereum to reach greater heights with most investment firms also trying to put Ethereum in spot ETF.
Still, I have doubts with Litecoin but I will be waiting when Bitcoin halving comes, maybe there it will get some attention.
122  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are You Keeping Numbers Or You Allow The Machine To Pick Your Numbers To Bet on: December 06, 2023, 10:37:01 AM
I have my own numbers kept in my wallet. Cheesy I think many lottery enthusiasts do the same especially the old ones who had habitually betting everyday or every time there's a lotto draw. I don't use that so called auto pick feature of them because I think there's a chance that it is rigged. You know, it came from them so they might avoid what will come out once the draw happens. I have not seen or heard about a winner on this kind of strategy so maybe it is cutting the chance of winning the jackpot for the reason that I've said. Plus, it takes out the fun on winning by your own numbers.
123  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 02, 2023, 04:23:16 AM
Neither Joel Embiid nor Tyrese Maxey could make the roster today, the 76ers starting five are Tobias Harris, Pat Bev, Morris Snr, Paul Reed and  Melton, I really don't know how they can handle the Boston Celtics at the TD Garden withou their best duo, this could easily be a blowout win for Celtics, except they get complacent and undermined the 76ers, if not this game should be over before the end of the 3rd Quarter, imo.
Undermanned 76ers. I enjoyed watching their bench playing like they are stars. Patrick Beverley showing he ain't to be underestimated when he hit some crucial shots and Celtics without Jayson Tatum (ejected with two technical fouls) had a hard time defeating them.
In the end, the Celtics still won the game by using their offensive powers against the 76ers. I love that assist by Jrue Holiday deep inside for Prichard with the shotclock almost expiring. I believe that should go to the highlights.

Another Oracle project is working its way up. After the big airdrop of Pyth Network they are gaining more attention because of the promise of a faster data price feed.
A new competitor versus Chainlink.
The PYTH Airdrop Is Finally Here. But What Is Pyth Network?

Quote
We’re excited to announce that Pyth data feeds are now available on Base, a new Ethereum Layer 2 incubated by Coinbase. Base will serve as a home for Coinbase’s on-chain products and an open ecosystem where anyone can build!
https://pyth.network/blog/pyth-launches-price-oracles-on-base-testnet

It is said to be the Chainlink killer and Coinbase don't want to be late, so they integrated Pyth with their Base project.

Bitcoin to $1M post-ETF approval? BTC price predictions diverge wildly
Quote
Bitcoin BTC ($37,321) may not reclaim $40,000, despite increasing excitement over a spot exchange-traded fund (ETF).
In recent analyses, crypto market participants have started to reconsider just how bullish the ETF narrative really is for BTC price action.

I am just glad that Bitcoin price action is now relying to the Bitcoin ETF. That's the idea. It is now gaining popularity thanks to the left and right news about the ETF approval coming.
Yes, it is true that the value of it might go low because of CZ pleading guilty which could affect the whole cryptocurrency market. But this is just going to be another bump to the market of Bitcoin, and we have experienced larger problems than that. (FTX, Mt.Gox, etc.)
Off topic about Mt.Gox: Mt. Gox creditors offered fresh hope with new ‘commencement of repayment’ email

Quote
“Expected any rumour on a Binance vs US resolution to be more bullish than price reflects (reasons: positive for ETF, less uncertainty for investors if there is a resolution), on top of the generally bullish headlines last weeks (minus Kraken, though much of it is more of the same earlier crackdown language recycled),” he continued.
The fear of missing out is there. I don't think Bitcoin will go back to $30k anymore just because of one man stepping down as the CEO of the big exchange. Investors are expecting something in Bitcoin not in Binance.

Just counting how many times the "ETF" was used on that article gives me the assurance that we won't be expecting a big dump anytime soon especially after ETF approval.
126  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 21, 2023, 02:55:17 AM
Not that much participants on the poll and it shows that Sixers have got the best start for this season garnering 4 votes. While the rest are just like one, two and four votes only.

Just wanna express how funny that image I saw because I've missed the actual game about Westbrook dunking on Dillon Brooks on his face. LMAO!
I am more interested with what team will win the In-Season tournament and I think the poll should be changed to that. Or it could be what teams will enter the Finals of the said tournament. As we can see this season, they are playing harder because of it, and it somehow made the NBA more interesting. I think Adam Silver will keep this event because the game suddenly became more competitive.
It also made the stars play more because of the new rule about load management. They are now afraid of whatever the fine that will be dealt for players that are resting without any good reason behind.

SEC’s first window to approve all 12 spot Bitcoin ETFs to begin today
Quote
There’s an eight day window between Nov. 9 and Nov. 17 where all 12 spot Bitcoin ETF filings could be approved by the SEC, according to Bloomberg ETF analysts James Seyffart and Eric Balchunas.

Quote
From Nov. 17, the comment period for 3 filings, including Global X Bitcoin Trust, Hashdex Bitcoin ETF and Franklin Bitcoin ETF would recommence, meaning that they wouldn’t be approved or denied until after Nov. 23 at the earliest.

Here are the deadlines.

According to the article they are expecting an approval before January 10 which means one of those three will be approved because of the deadline. Or will it be Grayscale first because all their deadlines are over, and they only need the approval.
128  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you ever been a gambling addict? on: November 07, 2023, 10:44:05 AM
I did in the past and I got over it. It's just mind over matter. I found myself spending way too much money in gambling that I got stressed out in the process. It's not the same feeling as the first time you gambled where there is so much fun playing different games and you get excited just thinking about playing them again the next day.
It became a bad routine that is not easy to let go. Chasing my money back is what urged me to do it continuously and it made things worst.

Coinbase Says SEC Is Attempting to ‘Redefine Definition of an Investment Contract’

Quote
Coinbase (COIN) has filed a response to the Securities and Exchange (SEC) to get an enforcement action against the exchange dismissed, arguing that the tokens don’t necessarily represent the definition of an investment contract.

Quote
Coinbase argues that assets like paintings, baseball cards, and cryptocurrencies can be investments but aren’t securities unless they offer a contractual claim related to a business’ future profits or assets, and the SEC hasn’t shown that trades on Coinbase’s platform confer such claims or a financial stake in an enterprise.

Maybe Coinbase should start becoming the new SEC. Cheesy
But I do think that SEC will do anything to make the false to be true. Upon reading other articles about this, it seems like they "SEC" is really out of line because they are supposed to handle securities while other investment activities should fall to the Congress.
But SEC is like a rock, they are still arguing that other cryptocurrencies listed in Coinbase falls in their jurisdiction. This might become a very long fight.
130  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Another attempt at Bitcoin ETF..You knew it was coming once BTC raised above ATH on: October 24, 2023, 11:39:05 PM
That is probably what spurred this deadhorse on forward with bitcoin Spot ETF approval actually!
It will feel better for that dude who was fired if he have Bitcoin in his stash. The mistake will probably be worth it. What he will make in this pump is better than his salary in Cointelegraph.  Grin

I am sure about it too. Hype effects would be very big with Bitcoin Spot ETF and even without Bitcoin Spot ETFs, I expect Bitcoin will double its price after a 2024 halving.

Bitcoin Spot ETF approvals will help Bitcoin to more easily double its price from 2021 all time high.
Hype is like a pandemic, it can easily be contagious, and I bet after the investors bought some Bitcoin they just won't stop anymore.
At least this mistake made a good effect on the value of Bitcoin. Not that I agree with what they have done because it can also be a virus that will be mimicked by other cryptocurrency news services just to boost other cryptocurrencies that they like. It's wrong and somehow right especially if you are one of the Bitcoin investors too.

Now, I am waiting for the whales to dump because Bitcoin ETF is still not approved it will just be the same shit all over again. They won't be scared just yet to manipulate the market. Sorry if I am an early pleasure spoiler. Cheesy
131  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Never gamble in front of your kids. on: October 23, 2023, 12:58:07 PM
I agree with OP, we should not let the kids see what we are doing especially if those things are for the right age. My kid just recently asked me this, "Dad, what is porn?" I asked him where he heard it, but he won't answer me anything. I know it didn't come from me and I bet he caught it from the Youtube sensations who are not even thinking on what they will say even though they know there are kids watching their clips.
Imagine that, just one word from the television and they would start to get curious about it. What more if they are watching us gamble? They would definitely be curious about it and there might be a time they will bump on the same game that we are playing due to advertisements, and they will easily have the idea on how the game goes.

Oh, I am sure it will.
The recent mistake by Cointelegraph is already a proof of that. We have seen how investors will react once the Bitcoin Spot ETF is approved. Now the big question, what if its real?
It will continously increase the demand of Bitcoin by a fold that might be shocking in our eyes.
The only difference on this upcoming pump will be "it's real". Not something bought by one billionaire and just sell it all out because he likes too. This will be a movement because of demand and not just about hype anymore.
The actual problem that might exist is the supply once the demand climbs up.

134  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How often is your luck in gambling? on: October 20, 2023, 03:53:05 AM
Indeed, she is very lucky. How I wish I have this kind of luck too. In gambling, I don't have much of luck and most of the time I am just wrecked by casino games that I prefer. Slots especially, there was a time last week that I only won 30 wins out of 600 bets and all I can do is be mad with myself because the gambling site won't answer back even if you get angry with them. Grin
I think that's the worst experience that I have because mostly I got like 100 wins out of 600 bets ratio. After that I didn't even have a second thought on changing my seed, I changed it instantly after that bad ratio of win and loss.
135  Economy / Economics / Re: Will people ever get tired of trading bitcoin? on: October 19, 2023, 11:57:07 PM
He dissected it numerically, but everything can be experienced by one trader. You lose, you win, or you take the split and take the rest.
If one trader wins, that means someone on the other side of the world is losing. But it's a moving market so there's a chance that loser can get it back by means of doing the same thing as the winner did to him.
Trading Bitcoin though is a lot riskier, and it takes heavy toll when it moves because of the hard turns that it make in its own market. I do believe that we saw that just recently and many losers came out after that fake news about the Bitcoin ETF.
Will there be a chance to win it back? There is but it may take time, that's another problem when it comes to trading Bitcoin, it can consume time especially if you are the loser and most of the time impatience is winning than patience.
136  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A Lady Cried After Losing to Sports Bet. Gambling is Not Your Mate. on: October 19, 2023, 10:53:46 AM
First time I heard about this, and I think it's crazy. As a gambler, we should be responsible enough to know the risk of what we entered. Gambling sites won't give back the money that we spent, they will just keep on taking and it won't end unless you win, or you get out. That's the only two options we have and they won't even bother about us even if we tell a sad story that we badly need that money.
This is a business not a charity, the risk is higher because we are trying to win against them, and they will need to protect themselves and that is called the house edge. I am sad for her but that should not be posted in social media for privacy. Plus, she won't hear any good words from people who will read about this. It's a jungle out there filled with bad people hiding in their avatars.
137  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Online Casino Crypto gambling on: October 18, 2023, 02:22:37 PM
There's no skill-based thing when it comes to casino games. Forget about that unless it's live poker. But if you are playing Dice, Plinko, and other known casino games then you are just waiting for the RTP to pop out because that is where you will have a chance to get lucky and received a jackpot win.

If you like betting with analysis included then sports betting will be the only place for it. Big leagues like the NBA and NFL would not dare to control the game so it is up to us on how we will analyze the game and lower the risk of losing in the process. That should be enough to win a bet in sports betting, there's no assurance but you cut some of the risk because you studied the game.
138  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 18, 2023, 01:50:15 PM

I think we can deduce that he was able to play more defense back then because he doesn't have to exert much effort on offense when he was a GSW. The man isn't getting any younger and I'm pretty sure he'll be much needed in offense for the Suns so that's where he'll use more of his energy.

His role hasn't changed much; he's still the main focal point of the team's attack when it comes to scoring. Initially, Curry was supposed to be the primary player, but when Durant joined, he graciously stepped back, acknowledging Durant's reliability. Durant became the primary scorer, and if I remember correctly, he even won multiple Finals MVP awards.

There was a slight difference when Durant was with OKC. Westbrook saw himself on the same level as Durant and didn't let Durant take the lead. This likely contributed to conflicts within the team, ultimately leading to Durant's departure for the Warriors.

Now, when you look at Durant, he's become a complete player. He can defend, chase down opponents due to his height and quickness, and grab rebounds. His only challenge arises when he's posted up by bigger guys like Jokic, as he doesn't have the same physical presence as traditional centers. Nevertheless, Durant is undoubtedly an MVP-caliber player.
Indeed he is one of the best players in the league and most basketball analyst think so. In paper or his work ethic he ain't a lazy man that will just sit around and watch his team defeated unless he is injured.
IMO, Kevin Durant is one of the players that must be defended well. In your example Jokic as bigger man defending him, he can still maneuver and use his speed and Jokic will probably on his back after a little crossover. Players like Aaron Gordon will be the tough players that will guard him because they can equal his speed and height and could even probably block his perimeter shots.
Phoenix Suns is now a monster team offensively, I don't think they would even need to defend well, they will just need to answer back every offense and the missed ones of their opponents is where they will take the lead.
139  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cash out or keep playing? on: October 17, 2023, 11:22:54 PM
If the amount won is in the vicinity of where I think it's enough, then it's time to cash out. Controlling our greed will the main issue here because once we won something big, we tend to break the plan to cash out and keep on playing with a perspective of being lucky this day. That's a wrong idea because the gambling sites system is to just keep on taking from gamblers. Even if you win a $1000, they could get it back in a flash because they know you will keep on chasing that little loss so that you will have the full amount again. It's rigged obviously so it's our part to take advantage of what is given to us in one lucky hit.
140  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin ETF Approval: Fueling Bullish Momentum? on: October 17, 2023, 11:55:33 AM
I am more excited about how many followers will unfollow Cointelegraph after this. I already did that, and I am waiting if more of their followers will do the same. Spreading fake news from a big news outlet is not a good thing and I'd like to see someone who will pay for this shitshow that happened. It's an obvious manipulation of the market and many bite it because they know they are a legitimate news outlet.
SEC won't just approve this Bitcoin ETF, they may have said they won't fight back but they can still extend the approval for so long that investors are starting to get bored about it.
