341  Economy / Economics / Re: A steady source of income is a man's bottom line to support his family on: February 16, 2023, 10:15:52 AM
Just recently my wife also had the same dilemma. She wants to have a job, the same thing she had before, even if it's low paying as long as the incentives are correct. But to her surprise, most of the jobs that she was interviewed was all offering salaries from sales. Marketing usually. I didn't like the idea and I told her it might become a difficult job as she will have to be as delightful as possible while offering whatever the item is.
It's a stressful job and I don't want to see her acting all stressed inside the house although she said it's going to be a work from home basis.
I told her to just keep on looking, we are in better days now with the pandemic gone and we are almost back to the normal ways with people not wearing mask and businesses opening again. She will find it for sure and I believe your friend too.
342  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gamblers theory on BEGINNERS LUCK. on: February 14, 2023, 02:12:40 PM
It happens but not to everyone. Others find it just a superstitious belief especially if they are losing and those who wins will believe in it and have a memorable story to share.
In online gambling, this doesn't really work. New accounts don't have the higher opportunity to win than old ones because if that is the case it will be prone to abuse. They will just have to create another new account over and over until they deplete the resources of the gambling site. What is provably fair to new ones will also be the same with the veterans. There's no magic in it or the business itself can be sued for altering the system.
343  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: February 14, 2023, 01:48:00 PM
How about the Bucks with 10 winning streaks already. They are not getting enough attention just because they didn't move at the trading deadline.
Sure, they got Jae Crowder and they attempted to get Fred VanVleet of the Raptors but they are actually a team that doesn't need a reconstruction.
The consistency of Giannis Antetokounmpo is all they need and they are no doubt to win their games.
But later, they will be up against one of their greatest rivals, the Boston Celtics. Although one of their duo Jaylen Brown will not play, they are not to be underestimated especially White who had been racking up points to help them win. I will absolutely not miss this game.
344  Economy / Economics / Re: Saving is Wasting? on: February 14, 2023, 12:56:58 PM
You should not worry yourself too much about investments for now, being a student. Save all those money that you can and use whenever there's a necessity for school projects and other expenses. Some say, invest while you are still young, well that's correct if you have the money to invest. But according to your story, there is none, so why waste time at thinking about risking it with an investment while learning is also part of investing for your future.
Someday, you will have a job and lots of investment choices will be in front of you, that's when you will have to stress yourself on what to choose.
Right now, carry on, just study and hope that in the future you will get a good job.
345  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: February 13, 2023, 01:34:30 PM
I think Melo's career is over, he averages 13 PPG with the Lakers but he does not give a big impact on the team to win. Maybe if the Suns will acquire him, that will give him a bigger chance to win a championship than his contribution to the team. I have no hate for Melo, but his time being a contributor to the team is already over.

If there's someone I think they should sign, it should be DeMarcus Cousins, he'll surely be a good backup Center for Ayton.

Who knows, friendship can win over game contribution. Cheesy But I do agree with what you say, if they will ever try to sign Melo then I think he will just be a roster filler or a backup shooter for garbage times. Maybe he could also offer some advice to young players in their team.

About Cousins, yes, I'd take him over Melo. He had been showing all his workouts in his social media accounts and I think he suited to play again.
But no team had been interested with him yet and the All-Star is near. If Suns really want to strengthen their core, they may need to add some defensive players because they are now filled with offensive ones.
346  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can we experience $80k this year? on: February 13, 2023, 10:05:37 AM
$80, no. $80k, very doubtful. Bitcoin may have surprised us after the new ATH was reach to $60k but I doubt it could reach higher rates. The goal would be to get back at where it came from, and I think this is it. $20k-25k is not a bad amount considering how fast it went here. We don't really need much of the price, it's the value that we should target.
If you are expecting Bitcoin to move at the high point, then I urge you to reconsider your expectations so that you won't feel bad even if it goes south.
I am not pessimistic about Bitcoin, it's the world economy that I am more worried.

Warriors fans will be happy bringng back Gary Payton II back to the team.
On the other hand, John Wall return as well to the Houston Rockets,  Grin
Pat Bev traded to Magic, in exchange of Mo Bamba, I guess we have the answers now. After losing Thomas Bryant, now they got Bamba as a back up center for Anthony Davis. So the Lakers Flip Bryant, Russ and Pat Bev -> Mo Bamba, D’Lo, Beasley, and Vanderbilt.
Yes. And I bet GPII is also happy about the trade. His salary went up and now he is back to his former team and perhaps he will perform better in the Warriors with their chemistry intact.

Quote
The Los Angeles Lakers continued their roster remodel on trade deadline day by sending Thomas Bryant to the Denver Nuggets in a four-team deal with the LA Clippers and Orlando Magic. Denver sends guard Davon Reed and a second-round pick to the Lakers and guard Bones Hyland to the Clippers as part of the deal.
https://www.nba.com/news/lakers-trade-thomas-bryant-to-nuggets
The Nuggets management also did a great job here. Hyland's skills are being wasted sitting on the bench and now this will give a great opportunity for him to show it in the Clippers uniform. While the Clippers just recently traded Reggie Jackson, Hyland will have more minutes. I do appreciate the Nuggets thinking about their players too while they are gaining more.
348  Economy / Economics / Re: Dubai is good example to other countries on: February 09, 2023, 04:11:41 PM
But what about the weather? Is it really a good place to relax if it's too hot during daytime and too cold at night? I'd reconsider and will look for other places. The security is definitely a good one because people here are afraid to do bad things as they will pay worse if they are found guilty. IMO, it's only a good place to do business but not for vacation or enjoying family time. When it comes to that I'd pick a tropical place where the heat is just enough and so does the coldness of the night.
As a living place, Dubai is also not in my wish list because of the same reasons, and I have learned living there is expensive.
349  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Features in Crypto Casinos for the Elderly on: February 09, 2023, 10:54:56 AM
If he resides in the US and doesn't mind using a smartphone, then I would point him out at the newest applications made by different gambling sites.
Fanduel for example. DraftKings and more. This will get rid of the learning process about cryptocurrencies and avoid the trouble of teaching him.
But, if you are eager to teach him about the crypto gambling sites then I think there's a lot on this forum that we could suggest for him. Reputable sites that has many currency choices and maybe even the hard cash could work.
350  Economy / Speculation / Re: What happens next if Bitcoin drops to zero? on: February 08, 2023, 03:41:16 PM
1. No, there will be buyers if ever it will fall to 4 digits again. They are lurking in the shadows waiting for that opportunity and I myself will also do the same.
2. I don't know how that could happen and I can't also imagine the effect it will cause to the financial industry of the world. That's Billions of dollars gone so there will probably be a lot of questions need to be answered before it seizes to exist.
Maybe you are just thinking too much, just calm down and let the wave carry your Bitcoin.
351  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: February 08, 2023, 08:44:33 AM
Finally, Lebron did it. I thought this is going to be how Steph Curry suffered because of the weight of record-breaking event. Too many people are expecting and had a difficult time shooting the three. Lebron on the other hand didn't have much trouble, 20 points at halftime means he could really do it.
I am glad they gave way to celebrate it even if there's 10 seconds left in the 3rd quarter.
Record broken, history re-written, there's a lot of doubt it could be done because MJ can't, Kobe too, but Lebron James did it even on a rough road, truly magnificent. He should add more points because Luka Doncic might get there.

353  Economy / Economics / Re: Monthly or weekly pay? Fixed or percentage earning? what is your prefrence. on: February 06, 2023, 05:42:22 AM
Fixed weekly salary. A month is too long for me, and I don't want to in a position where I would be out of money at the last week of the month starving to death.
Then, for emergency purposes. What if at that last week of the month or in the middle of it something unexpected happens? Position where you lack resources to get some money or a loan.
Also, I have this mindset where I get stressed if I am on the point of having just spare amount in my wallet. I don't like that kind of emotion so I am better off at weekly salary or bi-weekly can also be tolerated.
I don't like that percentage salary too, like you said there's a point where there will be no work which means no pay too.
354  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Online Casinos Want you to Gamble Responsibly on: February 05, 2023, 04:06:06 PM
Probably. Although there had been issues with physical casinos in regards with the places where they built their establishments. Most of them are near a place where there are more poor people. I don't know if that is true though. But about online casinos, I don't think they want us staying online 24/7 and just gambling our lives away. That's not healthy and it will reflect on our bets which are not thoroughly thought about. That is not entertainment anymore, that is a habit that will be difficult to erase.
Chasing losses is what makes one gambler stay for longer periods. Because online sites are easy to access they won't be able to sleep unless they get it back.
355  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Advice on choosing a crypto casino on: February 02, 2023, 03:00:22 PM
When you go on a physical casino, do you just pick one or do you check their establishment first and their reputation via friends or known people who gambles there? Because I do.
It's not different with online gambling sites, you don't just pick what you like, you try to check their reputation first.
I have bumped into a lot of them here in the forum and I could say most of them have a good reputation but then you will need to check if your preferred game is available in their services.
Some gambling site focus on casino games and some in sports betting. There are those who have both like Stake.com which reputation is definitely good.
356  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: February 01, 2023, 03:22:40 PM
Even the commentators are a bit surprised because Randle took the final shot and didn't take any shot at all which is kind of embarrassing if you are a Knick fan. I mean Brunson can be a better pick than Randle on that game because Randle shot very awful on that game. 6/19 from the field and Coach Thib picked him as the one who will take the final shot?

This is why I'm always thinking, why did the Knicks gave this player a huge contract where in fact, he is only good the season before they gave them a huge contract. He might be averaging at 20's and 10's, but his shooting selection is one of the worst (at least for me). He hold the ball, he will shoot it even though he is having a bad night.

As for the Lakers, they really needed it after what happened to them against the Celtics. Unfortunately, they are still at the bottom spot of the standings (currently at 13th) though they are just 2 games behind the 8th seed Timberwolves. Many are waiting for Lebron to surpass Kareem's scoring record that he held for more than 3 decades. I'm pretty sure it's not only the Laker fans or Lebron fans are waiting for this significant achievement to happen. All NBA fans around the world are waiting for this.
I doubt that's the play written by Coach Thibs. It was a poor execution and a selfish play, it could've been for Brunson but Randle chose to do it himself.
He may had his winning moments but that night was not for him so the better choice was to pass it as quick as he could. Grimes and Quickley are also not shooting well so there's only one left who could make it and it's Brunson but Randle attacked the paint without even looking how free Brunson is, Lakers did well at avoiding him to look outside and not letting him have space to shoot. Good D by Lebron. Predicting Randle will not give it back and chose to double him.
357  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin 12,000 in 2023. on: February 01, 2023, 01:00:42 PM
It could happen and I am always open to that possibility. It's Bitcoin, the word "Volatility" is glued unto it. Might as well just call the volatile currency.  Cheesy
Anyway, I believe what you said is reality. Economy is not yet better and how I wish this is a correction, but I doubt it. If you are a trader I won't just sleep it through, always monitor the market as a dump may really happen anytime.
This is the part where scary movements could happen because we got used to the stagnant price for months.
358  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Common Online Gambling Fraud on: February 01, 2023, 11:48:13 AM
  • 3. Chip Dumping
Chip dumping is the act of purposefully losing chips to another player at the table. It's something that thieves have been known to use in an effort to launder money they have acquired illegally. They believe that if they lose all of their money to a different poker account that they already own, that the original source of the funds might be lost. They hire individuals to gamble online and lose to a single person. Once that person cashes out, the money will appear as legally earned. It is a form of collusion
Today it's just tipping. No more chip dumping, you could just tip it away. But I think gambling sites are also making some restriction with the tips.
A limit daily, weekly, or monthly. They don't want whales to just give away the money to an unknown player as this will be a case of money laundering.
I have seen bigger tips and it comes out in the chatbox, everyone who read it will know it. Perhaps, someone could also increase the amount of tips given by wagering more.
I am not exactly sure about the terms to increase it, but I am pretty sure heavy gamblers do tip a lot.
359  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: am now a bitcoin investor(first purchase) on: January 31, 2023, 02:00:33 PM
The key to a successful bitcoin investment is holding and that's what i intend doing
You should try some trading too since the amount you invested is quite small for it to be considered as hodling stack. But always have a note of risk management.
woah!!! , i think that's a very big and bold step to take in this early stages of learning more about bitcoin especially with the fact that trading is very sensitive and i can lose even this my little investments within a twinkle of an eye, if am not fully grounded on it which am not.  So i think i will just stick to my first plan "planning on buying more", i feel thats way safer than trading for now. But if i eventually developed interest in learning about trading, i know i will need to start from scratch on reading and watching lots of lesson video on trading and for now i not ready yet
A good start, know where you are stepping at, if you know nothing about it then don't force it. Take the time to get ready and for now HODLing will be the plan. Congratulations on your first purchase and I wish you could continually increase the number as time flies by.
I understand that the economy is at it's worst point but investing is still a good idea even for just small amounts. Hoping to see this one day turn into 1 Bitcoin as you keep on adding more.

Do you guys think that Orlando Magic can make playoffs this Season? Or least play in tournament? They played well in their last game with the 76ers!
They are not that far from the 8th rank of the Eastern conference which is the Atlanta Hawks. 5 games back, it is still reachable and we have lots of games remaining before the season ends. This is the reason why they are playing harder every game. I think they can reach the play-in tournament if they can keep this kind of energy especially defeating teams like 76ers or other strong teams.
After this one, it will 76ers again at the same arena, I doubt they will give it to them again, Embiid will make sure they will win this time.
But after that it may be an easy road, Timberwolves and Hornets. They better steal those games from them and then back at home with more energy against the Knicks.
