Their thought process is more like this : "ACK, the coins I've spent a week mining are worth only 0.008 per Mh/d right now, I'll dump erverything before it drops even more !" and they have mined at a tiny profit and crashed a nubile coin. I'm hurting for free time so other then the excellent discussion in this thread I havn't been able to read the more technical stuff. SO maybe I've missed it, but... What does the AIRcoin team have planned to counter panic dumps like the one I described ? |

MightyX, I want to thank you for your immense contribution to this thread with real discussion and water tight arguments.
I do NOT think you're a troll ( that's rediculous ) and I think that Alexander has failed miserably in addressing the concerns that you've raised. Since he's not seeing them as constructive feedback but as unreasonable attacks made by a cynic, he's proving to me that either :
A - the Aircoin team is naive and unfit to control the premine
B - the Aircoin team is malicious and preparing to scam us at the first sign that the value of the coin is not rising anymore.
Again, thanks for the awesome razor-sharp posts. I'll be bookmarking for future refference. May I ask what your background is ?

To pump and dump a crap coin... 1. make posts like this with noob accounts that have no posting history hopeful this will drum up some fake interest. 2. have other friends log in and do the same but with new accounts. 3. place buy orders on exchange and have friends make the sales to you in order to run up prices. 4. make sure to get china involved. Everyone knows that China just can't wait to buy these coins and every other crap coin out there. For added impact have a few posts in broken English and mixed Chinese font to REALLY get the ball rolling. Miners are silly, they will fall for it. 5. when the price is right sell everything and make a little cash. Leave the miners with junk coins they can't sell for anything and a power bill to pay for the time wasted on the "new doge coin version infinity". 6. move on to the next coin and do it all over again because every miner wants to win the lotto AKA mine the next BTC of the crypto world. 7. sleep well at night because I got something out of it...... Sad.. Hope I am wrong, hope every single person with a keyboard and internet access flames me and tells me I was wrong. I am mining if for 24 hrs and will see where we are. Plan to flip back to another coin tomorrow unless this one actually does something. I fear this is the beginning of the new tend, the vertcoin clone crap coins. I noticed that more then 75% of posts on first pages of ANN's are still "Reserved" posts except most people don't call it that. Very annoying because it's just spam you have to wade through. There's so little actual discussion.
I wish this rule would be enforced a bit more.
Why not get a few extra mods to do that ? Getting some volunteers from the altcoin community won't cost bitcointalk ANYthing, so why not ?

I think you guys are all wrong. If he sold, BTC would crash and then simply recover after a few weeks. The fundamentals wouldn't have changed, and many people would welcome the chance to snap up some cheap coins.
