1085  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [FC] Simple Feathercoin Pool [LP/Stratum] on: April 24, 2013, 04:11:19 PM
Any idea when the pool will be back up?
1086  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN][FeatherCoin][PPLNS] FeatherPool.com Pool on: April 24, 2013, 01:03:20 PM
Tried mining at the pool awhile but no shares credited in the system.

Current round shares: -4,666,826

I'm assuming that's the cause of the problem?
1087  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Why Butterfly Labs (BFL) might be a Ponzi scheme on: April 24, 2013, 12:56:48 PM
Hello fellow miners,

According to my limited info on ASIC building, it can cost at least 250k $ to make one of these units but they are selling them at 274$!

Now FPGA mining made a lot more sense - sensibly priced hardware, mass produced, programmable for custom purpose - power consumption - not so great.

My point simple: given how much it costs to build ASIC chips(no matter how brilliantly efficient they might be) they probably only gathered enough funds to manufacture a portion of the ones ordered.

So they will ship a couple of units every week to appease the masses. In the mean time, people will continue pre-ordering(all sales final!); they will keep up this rhythm until they hit their profit target or they get bored or the supply drops  - at that point, after having smartly moved their profits to offshore accounts along the way they can file from bankrupcy and skip town, not delivering one more single unit.

Call me paranoid, but this scheme makes sense and I see no reason why they could build ASICs for only 274$ - unless they have their own factory??

I think you're mixing up developing and producing.
1088  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Combo Bitcoin/Litecoin ASIC Miners have arrived..... on: April 24, 2013, 11:07:54 AM

Well,  at least according to this guys auction:  http://www.ebay.com/itm/BITFORCE-BUTTERFLY-LABS-JALAPENO-5-GH-s-Hashrate-BITCOIN-LITECOIN-ASIC-MINER-/330909603662?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4d0bbfd74e

He has 4 auctions in all with the same title.   Perhaps a quick fraudulent item report to ebay is called for.   Hopefully none of his bidders are as stupid as he is.

 Roll Eyes

It's incredible to see how people is bidding hard to buy a late preorder (January 2013). This is insanity. The one left holding the Jalapeno preorder will be screwed.

Not really since they're only shipping Jalapenoes right now so the January 2013 order might actually arrive sooner then expected. The bigger units are all being re-designed and hence delayed.

Come on, that order will arrive very late this year, and it won't get a ROI even at the original price.

I'm amazed about how people can be optimistic with a company that fucked over for 8+ months.

I never said it would ROI at the original price. I leave that up to the math wizards.

Neither am I being optimistic. I'm just saying the people who ordered Jalapenoes will likely receive theirs before the people who ordered mini-singles or singles or mini-rigs.
1089  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Who on earth valued feather coin so high on: April 24, 2013, 11:03:54 AM
Lets bribe http://cryptocur.com/ so it add FeatherCoin and write something glamorous about it.

Litecoin : SAME AS BITCOIN apart from : Uses a memory hard hashing algorithm called scrypt. AND 2.5 minute block rate.

PPCoin : Somewhat different than bitcoin : Unlike Bitcoin ppcoin does not require the use of energy to sustain the  network. Proof-of-work currently remains the most practical way of providing initial minting of a cryptocurrency so it was decided to keep it as part of the hybrid design. (Some complicated shit)

Terracoin : SAME AS BITCOIN apart from Huh ; maximum of 42 million coins offering 20 coins per block and Block generation every 2 minutes instead of 10 minutes.

Novacoin : SAME AS LITECOIN apart from Huh ; There have been claims that over 200.000 coins were premined by the developer. The developer has claimed that only 60.000 coins have been premined but apparently BTC-e admitted that they got 100.000 coins to accept this currency on their exchange.

Feather coin : SAME AS LITECOIN apart from Huh ;  block reward of 200, total of 336 million coins, Feather coins were not premined much BUT THEY WERE !

Feel free to fill the blanks with altcoin I've never heard about. (namecoin is not worth explaining)

What makes you say they were pre-mined?

I didn't follow your past threads but these are my 2 cents.

If he paid you back, yes but leave a disclaimer for others to read.

If he didn't pay you back, no.

Forgot to mention I use an online wallet so the process is a tiny different.

Just awaiting your email addy burnin.
1094  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Work in progess] Burnins Avalon Chip to mining board service on: April 23, 2013, 05:23:32 PM

How do you send a signed message with the BTC-address we paid Zefir with if the payment has already been sent?

bitcoind signmessage <youraddress> "your message"

It'll output a big long number. To verify it, anyone can then do:

bitcoind verifymessage <youraddress> <biglongnumber> "your message"

Massive thanks.  Grin

So I just read all thread and understand almost everything, just have a few questions that needs confirming.

1. I don't make an order until beginning of may, when exact price will be known, yes?
2. Can I pay with bank transfer in EUR, or just BTC?
3. What does all that signing messages mean? I have for chips using my Blockchain address, do I have to pay for PCBs with the same address and include a message with the payment, or is it something else?

3. I'm also curious about this signing messages to addresses.  I understand public/private key pgp encryption, so are we just talking about sending encrypted messages?

From what I understand, if you ordered the chips from Zefir, you will have to send Burnin a signed message with the btc-address you paid Zefir with, so they both know that the owner of the chips (the owner of the address the chips were paid with) wants the chips to go from Zefir to Burnin

How do you send a signed message with the BTC-address we paid Zefir with if the payment has already been sent?

Guys, got a problem mining FC, im using 2x6970's and normally I can pull 900kh/s with high intensity. With FC mining I cant seem to get good results unless the intensity is around 11-13 which kills my hashrate.
Is this normal ?
I tried a bunch of pools and all had the same issue with a low hashrate being reported on my stats.
I checked the cgminer readme and it says its due to the intensity being too high and the WU: rate proves it - it should be .9 of the hashrate if its running properly.

Been pumping away at pools and got zero coins to show for it...  Cry

I run the same LTC cgminer config on my 6950s as for FC and get the same hashing rate.

What about my 60 gigahash single ?

Are the people who bought singles and little singes going to have wait forever?

not sure if trollin'....
I don't need K.O. epidemy - i know that my bid is some higher than prices specified by "mine-and-dump miners", who trying to sell all they mined as soon as posible. They are starting threads with shaking hands with one reason "Take this [New criptocurrency] and give me a little [Some major cryptocurrency] please!1!1oneone". They have not time, or brain, or just don't want to risk, to wait and check what price will form this CC in a half year. I have time, i can wait.

I am a seller and this is my price. Decide worth it so much or not is a buyer's objective. Stop ejaculate your, certainly very valuable, thoughts in this thread. You can make your offers.

I'm not referring to you, I'm referring to Arbitrageur.

Geez you're sensitive.
