I would prefer BTC over mBTC also. Smiley

General consensus is that the 7950 is the best bang for the buck.

I believe the 7750/7790 aren't too great for scrypts.

Source compiled fine on linux, synced up quick without adding nodes.

Awesome, thanks for the update. I don't use Linux and I'm glad it's working right.

I'll start sending the giveaway coins as soon as the first 4 blocks are confirmed.

Does anyone have an estimation how hot the mercury might run with its 250W PSU?  Would it survive in a typical household with air conditioning or would you expect to need more dedicated cooling? Still torn between going through with my purchase or just buying shares in a group buy where most people seem to be using hosting solutions in a data center...
They said they'd planned the devices to be able to run in the Bahamas heat if need be, and had built in large margins in the design generally for things like that. So yeah, I'm sure it'll survive a house with AC.

Thanks for the response - I decided to go ahead and pay for my mercury order.  Has anyone begun buying PSU's for their units? If so, what brands/models?

I'm going to use my old PSU that's lying around.

I'm assuming that the Saturn is running at 500w so I'll be using a my old 650W "Gold" supply.
652  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: How to power 16 Klondike K16s? on: June 21, 2013, 06:22:43 PM
Anyone figured out some solution to actually turn on those PSU?
I mean they don't have power on/off switch, I wonder if I bought two K16 boards will I be able to give power on signal to my PSU?
If yes, how?

After reserving my spot via pre-order, I checked every morning to see if the order book was open.  On the day it actually opened, there wasn't a peep on the forums about it yet.  I was sure I would be one of the first, but when my order completed, it ended up being #189 which I assume means that at least 188 other orders had at least started the ordering process before me.

This tells me two things:
  1) I'm not alone in my bitcoin obsession.
  2) People who are serious about placing an early order are willing to go through great lengths to do so.

Complaining about not receiving an email is really just hot air from those that weren't going to place an order anyway and should be ignored.

If you really want one, go ahead and place the order.  You'll get your unit about 6 days after me.

+111

I'm 40th. But do not look every day there are systems to avoid doing so.  Grin Grin Grin

Good thing titomane dropped me a call Wink

I didn't get an email either but luckily I do my due diligence.
655  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Ann] US based Avalon ASIC chips and assembly: 3,733 remaining on: June 19, 2013, 09:35:50 PM
I'd like to know what plan B is if the Klondike board is a flop, Avalon Clone?

Also what PSU are you guys getting to power multiple Klondike's?

Personally I like Corsair Brand PSUs. How many do you want to power?
i'll be powering 8, will one Corsair PSU be enough or should I look at getting two?

35w per K16, so 8 x 35w = 280w in total?

Is the 32mb of ram a limiting factor on how many ASIC devices you could run?

Everyone agreed that it will never back ROI when its price/auction was announced. (erupter blades/ usb sticks)

I'm more worried about no entry/exit points for the psu/usb cables.
