Look what I found!

Jesus, Mary and The Green Lion

Cartoon of the day, way back Wink

Nope this was serious stuff circa 1500

And we have moved on since then. Oh wait.. religious people still live in the bronze age. Guess we haven't

No consciousness is linked to no brain electric activity.
So why would the patient exhibit conscious behavior such as having valid perceptions if there is no brain activity at that time? This result points to a failure in the theory of mind as being generated from the brain. You did not present any evidence to substantiate your claim that awareness is possible when there is no electrical activity. Awareness is based on constantly-fluctuating levels of electrical activity in the brain, but this patient had no brain activity for several minutes and still had awareness. So where is the evidence that can save the physicalist hypothesis?

The electrical theory of the brain has already failed:

"some AI researchers have simulated the entire, already-mapped nervous system (302 neurons) of the tiny worm C elegans. Like paramecium, we don’t know if they’re conscious, but C elegans clearly exhibits ‘easy problem’ behaviors, e.g. moving in response to stimuli. But even artificial C elegans just sits there, with no functional behavior. AI can’t simulate the ‘easy problems’ in simple brains. Something is missing."

See: Which came first: Feelings or the Brain?

"Something is missing. Therefor God" I don't understand it, therefor God" Religious people always take the easy way out instead of investigating

I read it, and its a joke. programmed by whom? first he have to show there is a whom and not natural prosseses

SPEAK FOR YOURSELF!
YOU DID NOT INVESTIGATE THE LINK; YOU ARE NOT EVEN CURIOUS AS TO WHAT COULD BE MISSING!

I read it, and its a joke. programmed by whom? first he have to show there is a "whom" and not nature

Crippled Europe  Tongue
The exit of Britain will destabilise European Union a lot imo and will reinforce the bipolar position of Germany and France

If Britain leaves, most likely France will be next and there are strong forces in Germany to leave since the German tax payers have to pay for the thing. Brexit might be the end to the crap
286  Other / Politics & Society / Re: VOTE BREXIT on 23 June, UK on: June 23, 2016, 05:15:36 PM
In Norway the yes to EU said that if we didn't get in it was the end of the world. We would loose jobs, our money would be worthless, etc...
Same as in Britain. We voted no to go in and... wow... None of it happened.
Good luck UK. Hope the leave campaign wins.
287  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Coincidence that Sun and Moon seem same size or God's work? on: June 20, 2016, 07:16:50 AM
The moon and the sun do not seem to be the same size.
The distance to the moon varies from 356,500 km to 406,700 km, so some time the moon seems bigger than the sun, sometimes smaller and some times the same size
288  Other / Off-topic / Re: Suggestion Required for Free upgrade windows 8.1 to Windows 10 on: June 20, 2016, 06:13:21 AM
If you upgrade to windows 10 I recommend using https://www.safer-networking.org/spybot-anti-beacon/
to disable all the spyware that Microsoft have put in it.
That being said, I use windows 10 at work and have had no problems with it so far
At home I prefer Linux

Is there a special "Morons playing scientist" web page that you find all these idiots on?
290  Other / Meta / Re: Maybe a way to verify yourself? on: June 09, 2016, 07:50:19 PM
Hi,
My new idea is that members who want to verify themselves to prove that they are legit can do so with the assistance of the admin and ID? this way, you get a tag under your name to prove you are verified and that can help should you try to run off?

PS i would be willing to verify myself if its allowed.

291  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do Atheists hate Religion ? on: June 09, 2016, 07:46:51 PM
'm a religion person
Sometimes I was amazed to Atheists
Usually religion people do good deeds to get heaven

Atheists are religious people, too. It is just that their religion is different from theism.

Cool

Explain how "I don't believe in a magic zombie in the sky" is religion.
292  Other / Off-topic / Re: Flat Earth on: June 09, 2016, 07:35:49 PM
1. Sail around the world on your own.
2. look and the moon, look at the sun. are they flat??

1. Sailing in a circle proves you've sailed in a circle, think about it.

2. Yes, if the Moon is photographed at the same time by two people (one in LA and one in NY)  they capture the same face; impossible if it's a ball. Both the Moon and the Sun have always been refered to as disks that is until 500 years ago when "they" implemented the new world order.

Sailing in a "straight" line around a sphere is also sailing in a circle.

In this case, the new world order brought the truth into the open.

Cool

Guess you think your God is braindead and don't know the diffrence between a sphere and a circle.
Circle is mentioned many times and it's flat. Sphere isn't mentioned at all.
I'm not into your God at all, but the bible clearly say the earh is flat
293  Other / Meta / Re: referral links VS faucet rotators on: June 09, 2016, 07:06:12 PM
I would rather ban signature campaigns. would get rid of loads of spam. Rotors or faucets are a small fish compared to signature campaigns when it comes to scams, pluss it would make a few sub sections worth reading again.
if you read Bitcoin Discussion or Economics it's nothing but spam. first post is a question. Its answered in post 3 or 4, and then it's 10-20 pages of spam
294  Other / Off-topic / Re: Scientific proof that God exists on: June 09, 2016, 06:31:42 PM
BADecker, you are the worst case of brainwashing I've ever seen. I've discussed religion with priests that had a more open mind. BTW: I studied theology as an elective in college.

I'm afraid he's quite blinkered and cannot remove them to see through the fog.
Or as I suspect...... not so much cannot, more like doesn't want to remove them.  Cheesy

He's either having some fun and doesn't really believe what he's spouting or he's the one that escaped from the branch davidians before the fbi raid. In the classes I've taken there were multiple speakers from dozens of faiths. Each time I had an opportunity to question one of them they all would accept the incongruity of some of their teaching.

I actually had an LDS Priest tell me he only believes roughly a third of what's written in his bible. He claimed the general ideas were more important than the specifics that can be clouded in translations passed on for generations. All I could think to say to him was that, if I was working on a car and only two thirds of the repair manual was correct the car would never run again. All he could say was, hum, interesting comparison. O_o

However, neither you nor anyone else has been able to refute the science that proves that God exists.

Bury your head in the sand if you want. But if you seek the truth, why do you keep on rejecting it when I point it out to you? Oh yes. You don't seek the truth.

Cool

I wasn't actually talking to you but ok.

Who's truth?  Your truth?  A Jews truth? A Muslim's truth? A Zen Buddhist truth? A Hindi's truth? The Taoist truth?

A Christians truth? If a Christians truth then which one, 100 Kinds of Baptists, 66 Kinds of Lutherans, 58 Kinds of Pentecostals, 52 Kinds of Presbyterians, Just 4 branches = 276 versions of "the truth". Or maybe it's the Catholic truth? What about the Christian Science truth? Anglicans should have a say, shouldn't they? What about their truth? Quakers, Millerites, Mormons, Adventists all should have a say in the truth, right?
All included roughly 780 different versions of the Christian truth. What the fuck are Christians thinking? Even BASKIN ROBBINS only has 31 favors.

The only thing I can conclude is that Christians just make shit up as they go along.

The only real truth there is, is God's truth. All of man's truth is plagued by lack of knowledge. Atheists' truth is one of the worst, since they try to lie their way out of the reality that God exists.

Cool

Still waiting for the proof. Link to the scientific paper that proves it.
295  Other / Off-topic / Re: Scientific proof that God exists? on: June 04, 2016, 08:30:24 AM
Well, God does exists

We did not existed by accident nor did everything popped out from nowhere since nowhere is the vastness of the reality above and beyond making it too much to be impossible to come from nothing.  Billions of years in the past and billions more to come came from the pop up menu?

If that is true, your God can't excist since it had to come from somewhere.
And if he didn't, then something can come from nothing.
296  Other / Off-topic / Re: Scientific proof that God exists? on: May 31, 2016, 07:49:36 PM
You can download Kent Hovind's doctoral thesis that he made when he bought his doctor title here

recommended reading. Its absolutely hilarious
297  Other / Meta / Re: Locked my account on: May 31, 2016, 07:19:35 PM
I was not aware that trying your password too many times would ban your account. Is this true?

Vegas
If I had to guess then I would say that the OP probably clicked on "forgot password" and attempted to reset his PW via his security question.

The OP will most likely need to provide a signed message from an address associated with his account to get it back. In the meantime he is free to make another account and/or use another account and use it freely. (this is assuming that the reason for his ban was in fact because he reset his PW and not because he broke some other rule)

It appears that is true - https://bitcointalk.org/seclog.php :
May 29, 2016, 08:30:17 PM - binmon - password reset via secret question
May 29, 2016, 08:30:17 PM - binmon - password reset via secret question

Sadly no matter what it seems cant get info to all people don't use secret question to reset or you will get account security locked.  Which then takes a admin to unlock it.

Idk Is this a kind of bug or what? Becuase it has long happened this not been resolved.
When the forum was hacked last year the hashes to passwords were leaked and the plaintext password reset questions were also leaked. It was recommended for people to change their passwords and remove the password reset question. As a result, anyone who attempts to reset their password via their secret question will automatically get banned until they can prove they are the owner of their account to an admin ( and until an admin is able to review everything).

Why on earth is that thing still there if all it is doing is closing your account?
298  Other / Off-topic / Re: Scientific proof that God exists? on: May 31, 2016, 07:02:21 PM
God is everything. I believe in god.

Believers don't need any proofs? I am confused, this world is so strange..

That's why it's called faith.

But when believers have some proof along with their faith, their faith is strengthened greatly. That's why you have so little faith in life. You haven't accepted the proof that God exists, yet.

Cool

Since there is no proof, how can we accept it?
Can you link to the scientific paper that proves God? Not just some weirdo that wrote an article like  Hovind, Ray "Bananaman" Comfort or those nuts, but the scientific paper?
You can find a few databases here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_academic_databases_and_search_engines
Just put a link to the proof and I'll read it

It's nice to have all the shit-coins in one part of the forum. If it wasn't there, they would spam all the other sections.
I'm all for shit coins having their own little corner so I can ignore it.
300  Economy / Economics / Re: What is the effect of knowing Satoshi on bitcoin price? on: May 31, 2016, 06:14:02 AM
I think Satoshi's identity is irrelevant. It doesn't change the code or use if he is known or not.
He might be "good" or "bad", but that doesn't change how bitcoin can be used
If I found out that the inventor of the wheel was a bad guy, I would still use it
