501  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is it a good time to start buying bitcoins? on: December 20, 2017, 07:46:48 AM
I don't know whether this is a good time to buy Bitcoins because the price may a little more too. But this might be  the DIP which many traders have been waiting for. There are many people who use to say that the cost is high and BTC need to fall down a little for them to buy. So this is the chance for those people to buy BTC as once the pump of BCH is over then people are going to switch over to BTC and by that time the price of BTC would be skyrocketing. So yes it is definitely a good time to buy some Bitcoins.
502  Economy / Economics / Re: Why the price is going down despite opening the Bitcoins future trading ? on: December 20, 2017, 07:34:45 AM
Bitcoin was stable around $18500 for quite a few days now but suddenly there is a drop in it's price. The owner of the famous bitcoin website decides to switch to Bitcoin cash at the same time Coinbase decides to support Bitcoin Cash. Doesn't this ring a bell in your mind ? There is definitely something fishy about this whole scene and from my experience I can say that it is a planned pump which is going to dump soon.
A similar pump and dump happened a few weeks back when BCH spiked up all of a sudden and then dumped with many bag holders crying.
This might be a similar thing. It would be better to stay away.
503  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: (unconfirmed parent) while receiving a transaction? What is this? on: December 20, 2017, 03:49:04 AM
It clearly says that the sender has sent you an unspent input which in this case means that he has sent you the BTC which has not been confirmed yet on his address. Once the coins are confirmed on his address they will be transferred to your address. This might take a while seeing the coongested BTC network and all you can do is wait until you receive the coins.
Been over 4 days now.   Still shows receiving and have 0 confirmations.  However the parent is no longer showing as unspent on the block change as of yesterday.  No unconfirmed parent warning in my transaction details any longer.

When is this thing gonna get confirmed?

Check the OP for more on the issue.
So this means that the sender has got his coins in his wallet and now the coins will be sent to your wallet according to fees paid. The current network fees is too high and it might take some more time for your wallet to get credited with the BTC.
Post the transaction ID for further clarificaitons.
504  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: $8500 bch on: December 20, 2017, 03:42:54 AM
Looks like Coinbase was not able to handle the surge in BCH's price and that's why they have halted the exchange for some time.
It's ridiculous seeing some shit currency go up so high in price. On the other hand the price of BTC has gone down and this could be a coincedence.
It seems to me like they are manipulating the coins and pretty much getting successful in it. BCH has crossed $3500 on coinmarketcap and the sudden surge makes me wonder how soon the coin will dump.
505  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How Do You Avoid High Fees When Exchanging Currency? on: December 19, 2017, 02:27:14 PM
Instead of swapping the BTC through some scam machine why don't you use the popular exchanges to buy whichever Altcoin and how much ever you like. The fees are obviously too less on the exchanges. Bittrex has just 0.25% as the trading fee to buy any altcoins.
If you want to transfer the coins to some other exchange you can do that as well by using altcoins which are much faster and cheaper.
Bitcoin should now be bought just to be HODL and not make transactions as the fees will eat up your profits.
506  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin strategies on: December 19, 2017, 02:20:36 PM
The best strategy to do would be to collect as much BTCTC as possible from almost every source you can try and then save the maximum amount of BTCTC you got till the end of your Bitcoin journey. Sounds ridiculous right ? But the fact is, this the only thing that will give you the maximum profits. Invest in BTCTC and hold it. Work for BTCTC and hold it. Join campaigns, get bounty, trade it to BTCTC and hold it. Try to collect the maximum BTCTC to maximize your profits because the more BTCTC you have the more profits you get.
507  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Jumps High This year on: December 19, 2017, 07:31:22 AM
We cant really say whether Bitcoin will be going higher or not. It should be rising in price but after seeing the current circumstances I hardly think Bitcoin will break the $25k barrier . The current issues are too much for Bitcoin to handle. The high fees is major problem every bitcoin user is facing. Why will anybody pay $10-$20 fee for sending $50-$75 worth of BTC. It's ridiculous and this problem has to be solved. The lightning network might be able to solve this issue but until then I don't think there will be many investors investing in BTC.
508  Economy / Economics / Re: does ethereum make money off of people who make tokens based on them? on: December 19, 2017, 03:04:36 AM
Directly or Indirectly Ethereum does make their profits from the ERC20 tokens. As you can see almost all the ERC20 tokens that are created on the ETH platform are being traded on Etherdelta trading platform. So most of the users who use these tokens often trade on that exchange and ETH get their profits in the name of trading fee. So in a Indirect way Ethereum is making a profit since most of the users trade those tokens there and pay fee for it to trade.
509  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: How to pay with bitcoin without bitcoin? on: December 19, 2017, 02:58:48 AM
There are 2 ways in which you can accomplish this task.

1. You can buy Bitcoins yourself for the amount of order and then pay the order. You can buy it from any seller at Localbitcoins, from any exchanges like coinbase, kraken etc.. but the fees would be high.

2. You can ask any of your friend who has Bitcoins to place the order for you. If none of your friends have BTC then create a thread in the forum asking for people to place the order and transferring cash to them in exchange for it. Be wise in the deal as there will be scammers too.
510  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Anyone else sick of Coinbase Ridiculous fees??? Any other options??? on: December 18, 2017, 03:21:20 PM
Instead of buying BTC and transferring it to bittrex why didnt you think of buying ETH and then transferring it to bittrex. Obviously the fees of BTC is way more than ETH. By using this method you can atleast save good amount of money in transferring the coins to bittrex. You could then convert it to BTC after you transfer the coins to bittrex. Coinbase also has LTC which is also a better alternative for this method.
511  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Where do you buy crypto? on: December 18, 2017, 02:12:41 PM
You could buy Bitcoins from various sources such as coinbase, Localbitcoin, kraken etc.. Localbitcoins is a good source from where you can select any offer of your choice and then make the deal but be sure that the dealer is trustworthy. They have credit score over there and make sure they have done many transactions in the past.  You could also buy Bitcoin directly from blockchain through your credit card. You will have to buy BTC or ETH and then exchange them into Altcoins if you want to store them in wallets. ETH can be bought from coinbase as ETH has low fees and can be used to transfer coins to any exchange and then convert it to BTC.
512  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: transaction (((( on: December 18, 2017, 01:56:23 PM
So it looks like you are receiving some kind of payment or withdrawing from a website. The transaction has multiple addresses and the fees is around 100 satoshis per byte. The current transaction rate is around 230 satoshis per byte and that is why the transaction is getting delayed.
You will have to wait until the fees is reduced in the network and your transaction is accepted. Only then your transaction will be confirmed and you will be receiving the amount in your wallet.Try waiting for 1 or 2 days. The fees might also increase over time which will result in further delay.
513  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin's Potential on: December 18, 2017, 05:16:09 AM
Right now is a bad time for Investing in BTC as the network is congested from many days now. It has been weeks since the transaction rates are high and the confirmations are taking too much time. It has been high time now and the problem of congested network with high fee has to be solved now. So unless the Lightning network is not full established and running successfully I don't think there is any reason too invest in BTC since the issues will create more problems in the market and it gives a risk of price drop in BTC.
514  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: DOGE maddness on: December 17, 2017, 03:15:16 PM
I have seen quite a couple of times that Doge would be sitting idle at a price for a very long time and then suddenly some day out of nowhere the price would start increasing and go upto 9 to 10 times. The sudden surge in the price of Doge could be the same wave approaching or it can also be a short term pump which the whales would be doing to get some profit from the market. The price of BTC has also started to increase now and the whales would be using Doge to pump the price so that they could invest the profits earned into BTC.
515  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Determination percentage value change of the coins. on: December 17, 2017, 02:24:17 PM
In the list the percentage changes are determined by the change of percentage in the past 24 hrs . The green % shows that there was a gain in the price whereas the red % shows that the price was dropped in so much %. The % might change as the 24hr period keeps changing. You can see the volume of trades in the chart that the exchange provides. You can see the volume of trade in different timings such as hourly, daily, weekly, monthly etc...
516  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Would like info on Cryptopia on: December 17, 2017, 02:19:47 PM
Cryptopia is a better exchange when compared to other exchanges like nova, coinsmarket, livecoin etc... All my trades until date have gone smooth and I did not face any withdrawal problems from it. I once had a deposit problem for which I raised a ticket and it was solved within 24 hrs. Other than this there weren't any problems from Cryptopia. I would suggest you to raise another ticket and wait until they don't respond. It can be that their support will be busy handling queries.
517  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: CPU Mining 2018? ??? on: December 17, 2017, 08:03:49 AM
There are many coins(altcoins) which are CPU mineable but not all of them will give you good profit. It also depends on how good your CPU is. You can't expect an Intel Pentium to generate you $100s in a month. The better processor you have the more amount of coins you will be able to mine.
There are coins such as ETN, XMR, Bytecoin etc.. which you can mine through CPU. Soferox has completed its ICO and is soon going to be launched in exchanges. It is also a  CPU mineable coin and will specifically be released for CPUs first and then later for the higher versions.
You can see more coins her : http://cpucoinlist.com/
518  Economy / Speculation / Re: Better Late than Never? on: December 17, 2017, 07:59:04 AM
Well the price of Bitcoin has indeed increased a lot over the past few months. Though it is risky at the moment to invest in Bitcoin I would suggest you to hop on the boat and ride the Bitcoin wave. Bitcoin has huge potential and is increasing from the past few days as well. There are chances for it to go down but the chances of crossing $25k are more. I am sure Bitcoin will cross $20k before the year ends as it is already at $19.5k
Though the price is increasing any investment you make are your decisions and you should not regret it later. Also, invest only the amount that you can afford to loose.
519  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bull market on: December 16, 2017, 03:05:46 PM
The bull market doesn't last forever since there are ups and downs for every trend. But it might be a really good start for 2018 since the price of Bitcoin have now started to increase. Altcoins have been increasing in price recently but are seeing dips now. This might be a sign that people are moving from altcoins to Bitcoin since there is a small spike in its price. Let's wait and see what 2018 brings us. I really hope the price gets doubled by mid year.
