Bring regulation tomorrow as far as I'm concerned. I'll never have problems sleeping being full in bitcoins then as that means to the moon ladies and gentleman.

Those who thought we're going to be left free forever to make millions without being regulated live in cuckooland.
Depends on where you live. Bitcoin and its exchanges/services won't be regulated everywhere.

I guess he took his time to make a trip to nearby Estonia and checked it up, you don't pay 1 mil. eur for an image  Grin

It surely might need some restoration, it's pretty cheap.
True... just pointing out that the building is really crumbling and a dingy grey color. The yellow and all those colors were added by Photoshop.

What exactly are you trying to accomplish? Get an invite?  Cheesy I could suggest better methods.... Grin

Of course I had it photoshoped right away, how else could the craftsmen know how to repair it?

That the building exists, you can easily find from wikipedia and google maps "Malla, Estonia".
Hey, I never said it didn't exist, I was just pointing out that it didn't exist in the form you presented it. Smiley

I would like to hear these other methods, but it will be a while before my bitcoin holdings will allow me to visit - especially since the last coins I bought just disappeared via Gox.

Since they track users and have IP's, account names etc. the size of this is huge.   I bet they think they won't be investigated and charged personally.     If they run and hide it will go away.   They keep spreading useless non-information to delay the onslaught.  I wonder if btc builder is actually in cahoots the whole time.   "Josh Jones" and "Juan Martinez" feel like such fake names.   Can anyone validate that Josh Jones is a real person's identity (linkedin profile means nothing).
Bitcoin builder concept was hinted at in the report that twobitidiot "released". It discussed arbitrage to spread the loses out.

I just wanted to tell you that I am finalizing the purchase of Malla Manor this week, and we will have a party there starting Friday.

Malla will be (probably) the first high-class Bitcoin retreat centre in the world. 100% owned by me, it offers 5000 sqm floor area (some under renovation) and currently 127 acres of land. The property is in the middle of beautiful countryside in Estonia, just 1 hour from Tallinn airport.
That place is a total dump... None of what you see in that image is real - the image has been manipulated. Look at the side wall and you can see how bad of shape it really is. Look at the driveway... does that look like anything but a 2D color gradient?

Either rpietila was joking or he is buying a fixer upper.

Posting in this thread for posterity. I was there for the last Goxxing we'll ever experience.

Thank. Fucking. God.
You are wrong. Gox will return.

That is where a major divide in the Bitcoin community is. I don't care if government thinks bitcoin is legit. The only thing I care about is having money that I can hold and transport my wealth stealthily. I want "drug trafficking", I want things so out of control that government destroys itself trying to contain it. There are many other like me.

That is one of the two disasters that befell the bitcoin project, and will kill it.

Complete nonsense. Bitcoin will have the largest impact in the third world economies. The US and Europe will be shit-holes soon enough.

Can we really count Shrem as dishonest? Most Bitcoin supporters would consider what he did legit. Its only government that thinks it isn't.

Whether he gets convicted or not, and whether bitcoiners think that the law is immoral or not, it not relevant.

For most people in the world, money laundering for the drug traffic is not legit.

If those people are told that  "most bitcoin supporters consider money laundering and drug trafficking legit", they will conclude that bitcoin is not legit.

Any institution that wants to be the voice of the bitcoin community to the world must be respectable in the eyes of the world.

You mean the Shrem Karpeles & Friends Foundation?
Karpeles is out, Shrem was shutdown so he should be out too. There has to be a way for the Foundation to have trustworthy members, then I guess we can do this audit thingy I proposed.

From the little I have read, I believe that Shrem and Karpeles were not just two members of the board among many, but were two of the founding members --- which may have been as few as two or three.

How could people trust the remaining members, who may have been selected and brought in by those two?

If the honest members of the board could not get the Foundation to expel Shrem and Mark right away, they should have left it themselves.   The current members of the board did not do either, so ...

If the community wants to clean up bitcoin's image, it should dis-authorize the Bitcoin Foundation and start another one, with a different name and with people who were not associated to the BF.

Not surre if this was already posted, but, from: http://www.reddit.com/r/BitcoinMarkets/comments/1yuuok/daily_discussion_tuesday_february_25_2014_early/cfnzt9i

7.) And now we are here, with not a single word from MtGox.

They are going to announce on the 25th.

What do people expect? It's only 1:30pm. Tongue
Depends on which time-zone.

Upon further reading of twobit, it appears the leak was actually done to calm nerves.  It's gonna take a while to recover from MtGox malfeasance, but I think the PDF was prepared for all the other players (listed in the statement) who are working in the best interest of btc.  Which means Mark resigns tomorrow (today).   Grin
He won't resign until a new CEO is appointed.

Someone needs to start an exchange ratings business or private regulatory business for Bitcoin to prove we don't need government regulation.
74  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 25, 2014, 04:11:33 AM
What sucks is that if Gox does come back and repay everyone's funds/BTC, whoever wasn't left with BTC in their account will get royally screwed. By the time things are up and running the BTC price on Gox will be near the rest of the exchanges. So, you'll have lost your coins.
75  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 25, 2014, 03:53:52 AM
I think that report is legit. that was probably sent around to all the major players. They are working on a strategy to reorganize Gox and pay its debts off.
76  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 25, 2014, 03:37:27 AM
If that document is true, how in the hell did they lose 750,000 BTC? That is insane.
77  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 25, 2014, 03:29:50 AM
I'm still not convinced.  I need to see hard proof, not some blog post.
Gox just removed their website.
78  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 25, 2014, 03:27:27 AM
I lost my investment of $620 made before the run-up back in Nov. The coins I got from that were on Gox.
79  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 25, 2014, 03:22:45 AM
Gox server down
80  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 25, 2014, 03:11:55 AM
So no coins ever coming off Gox now?
