Gotta love nerd fights on a Friday night.

And I use the term with respect and humility.  It's just so stereotypical you have to lol.
62  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Bitcoin.com Pool, 110% PPS? on: April 28, 2017, 11:30:40 PM
I have been on the pool since they started the 110% and can verify the nightly withdraw fee is about $0.06 based on $1352USD/btc
63  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain's Released Antminer S9, World's First 16nm Miner Ready to Order on: March 25, 2017, 02:26:32 AM
Ordered an S9 from the 3/31 delivery batch. It's arriving Monday.
Already cleared customs and has left Japan.
EDIT: I meant left Alaska.
64  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: BAIKAL - WHAT IS GOING ON? on: March 23, 2017, 05:47:42 PM
I bought a few of these when they first came out.  Played with them briefly then sold them.  This goes back to when there was not an altcoin trading for more than $3 (except Litecoin).
Tried to order a quad.
They said sorry, they out of quads.  "Is there anything else you would like?"
I asked when they would get them in.
They said they had no idea and could not even estimate.
I said, "OK, well give me 4 singles."
"Sorry sir we are out of those too?"
What the ETA on those?
"We don't know and can not estimate?"
I asked, "What else do you sell?
"nothing sir"
So I assume we are only speaking with the hired help.  Someone else is pulling the strings.
My guess is either legal trouble or they are actually selling everything they get to big customers.
EDIT - of course what do I know.
65  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Bitcoin.com Pool, 110% PPS? on: March 23, 2017, 09:41:00 AM
So far it's been 110% everyday. They asked what improvements could be made on the site. I sent in a few suggestions and every one was added in about an hour. Much to my dismay.
EDIT: And delight.

I have a few Friedcat miners.  PM me if you want them.
67  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain's Released Antminer S9, World's First 16nm Miner Ready to Order on: March 19, 2017, 05:30:27 PM
Satoshi intended the hard-fork to deal with unsolvable issues like this.  The longest chain becomes bitcoin, the shorter becomes an altcoin.  If this issue does not resolve some other way, that's what should happen.
Bitmain gets to support client they want.  Miners (me) get to support the client we want by mining the pool that indicates it.
I doubt Bitmain's owners are intentionally trying to go bankrupt.
The internet has been filled with bitcoin politicians bad mouthing both sides.  Ultimately I think this issue will be solved by a few engineers deciding how to move forward.
I know this is off topic. Sorry.  That's all I'll have to say here about it.
68  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain's Released Antminer S9, World's First 16nm Miner Ready to Order on: March 15, 2017, 10:10:28 PM
...Back to the fight

I gave you a lot of proof that  there are 1000's of small miners on f2pool...
Evidence that there are x amount of small miners is not evidence that there is y amount of miners that want to reduce their own ROI even further by underclocking; you're conflating 2 separate things....

You continue to say all those who underclock want to significantly reduce their ROI.  I keep telling you smart miners underclock when their miners reach an age where underclocking makes sense for their ROI.  But you can't seem to grasp that.  Which is telling.
69  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Bitcoin.com Pool, 110% PPS? on: March 15, 2017, 09:58:24 PM
It's not uncommon for more than one miner to find a block at roughly the same time.  Then I believe there is some mechanism in the software to figure out who's the block actually is.  In some cases it will continue to be worked on by two or more miners but all but one will end up being orphaned.  Other times it does not get that far along.  Someone with dev-like knowledge could explain this better than I.
But has found 3 blocks since 457336.  So they are not doing too bad.
70  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain's Released Antminer S9, World's First 16nm Miner Ready to Order on: March 15, 2017, 03:31:11 AM
Obviously people want the ability back to underclock. I've been mining for nearly 6 years now. It is extremely useful in so many scenarios. It makes 0 sense and is incredibly short sighted to defend removal of the feature.
True, it's very shortsighted of them to not cater to the wants of < 1% of their consumer base.  What are these people thinking by gearing their software towards the needs of those that buy 500-1,000 units at a time?  Huh

How did you determine less than 1% of Antminer owners have underclocked their units?
71  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain's Released Antminer S9, World's First 16nm Miner Ready to Order on: March 14, 2017, 04:16:24 PM
R4s are sold with auto-tuning.
72  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [POLL] Possible scaling compromise: BIP 141 + BIP 102 (Segwit + 2MB) on: March 14, 2017, 12:13:18 AM
Seems like bitcoin core's strategy.  Apathy rules. 1mb block is just dandy.
Bitcoin Core has already offered a solution with bigger block, i.e. Segwit. Apparently the market does not want a block size increase or pool owners (e.g. Jihan) are being severely lobbied into doing the opposite.

Stupid comments like this don't help with a compromise.
73  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain's Released Antminer S9, World's First 16nm Miner Ready to Order on: March 14, 2017, 12:07:23 AM
....
Even if I would have a industrial grade mining farm, I would consider dropping features off not so nice thing to do...
If you under-clocked all of your rigs, you would go bankrupt and your backers would be pissed (and likely sue you). There is no practical reason to purchase a $1,500 piece of equipment and making it less profitable, and there's even less of a reason to do it with multiple rigs in a full-sized farm. Undecided

Again - right now you are correct.  No one should buy an S9 needing to underclock it.  Buy something else.  BUT - and I will say this again.  This is the first antminer that will not be able to be underclocked a year from now or whenever they are marginally profitable at full speed.  Is it a reason to not buy the miner now? Of course not.  But for people who have been mining for years and are used to the relatively short profitable life of a miner, being able to underclock them did extend their useful life.  That won't work with these S9s.  At least no one has tried yet because it's not worth bricking a miner.

To those lamenting about a feature being dropped by Bitmain.  I believe Bitmain's view is they are making the miner better right now, while profitable and that over rides any concern about underclocking when they get old.

Additionally, when these miners came out they were so far and away more efficient than previous miners that their useful life has already surpassed their predecessors.  I think the S9 will end up being the longest, profitably running miner since bitcoin really took off.
So you might have lost a feature, but this miner's useful life will be double to triple that of any of the prior Antminers.  So it's really not worth complaining about.

Any simple calculator?

Any idea how the fees rate?

they may use this site

https://bitcoinfees.21.co/

if you look here i was charged 240 sats per byte

https://blockchain.info/tx/ae069bbe43b8d43c303fe76dec2927342b70cf944fea2b4f9e75facae499038a

the tx fee goes into the blockchain they do not keep it.

and 240 sats  per byte means  a very fast confirm

No - the fees do not appear to based on how much or how little you mined.  They seem to be based on what amount it necessary for a fast transaction.
So far that has been approximately 0.000047 - 0.000054 btc.  So if you are mining a small amount of btc each day, you will have a higher fee cost as a percentage of your mining.  Essentially, if you are mining less than 0.01 per day consider leaving your rewards on the site and withdrawing once a week or every few days.  You will still come out ahead compared to other pools.
75  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Bitcoin.com Pool, 110% PPS? on: March 11, 2017, 06:28:44 AM
I don't think most of the large bitcoin pools charge a withdrawal fee.  Again, not that it's significant, it's just not mentioned anywhere.  And if you are a miner with a very low hash rate it can be a large percentage.
76  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Bitcoin.com Pool, 110% PPS? on: March 11, 2017, 03:07:27 AM
It occurred to me I already may have the data I was questioning.  Below is a spreadsheet of transactions from my mining the past 4 days.

If you notice the fee, while not exactly the same each night, is roughly static.

The first day I started on the pool - 3/7 - was late in the day and I only mined a very small amount of btc (0.00123).  But if you look, the transaction fee was about the same (0.00005) as it was the next three nights when I mined significantly more.

So while the pool advertises no fees and for the most part that is accurate.  BUT there is a small transaction fee when you withdrawal your coins.  That fee is roughly $.06.  And oddly, it appears the fee is roughly the same regardless of what you mine.

Another observation is the fee decreased from night to night, even when my reward fluctuated up and down.  Is this a coincidence or a trend.

Another question is - if you let your balance carry over a few days and then make a withdrawal, will the fee still be $0.06 or is it $0.60 per day.  I will turn off Auto tomorrow and mine for a couple of days without making a withdrawal.  Then I will re-establish Auto withdrawal and see what kind of fee I get charged.
77  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Bitcoin.com Pool, 110% PPS? on: March 11, 2017, 02:26:41 AM
I m on my mobile, so no screenshot is share. Everything is good on this pool except there is a fees at withdrawn and the auto withdrawn is not working.

Bye to this pool

New account, no details on his issue and a quick exit.  Should have guessed.

Auto should start I hope if not. I will let you know

I use Auto Withdrawal and have gotten paid each of the past 4 nights I have mined the pool.  Three nights the payments arrived exactly on the stroke of 6:00AM UTC.
Last nights payment was 3 hours and 13 minutes late.
78  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Bitcoin.com Pool, 110% PPS? on: March 10, 2017, 09:03:48 PM
when the auto withdrawal occurs I will report back.

Thanks!

First reply on why the auto withdrawn is not working
Sorry, autowithdrawals were late today.
We'll make sure that it runs on time in the future.

2nd reply on why there is a hidden fees on withdrawn
Unfortunately the blocks are always full, so the bitcoin network transaction fees are very high. We're getting the fees from the 21 fee API: https://bitcoinfees.21.co/

Hopefully we can hard fork to a larger block size so that your transaction fees will be lower.

Nothing mention on fees during withdrawn and its almost 23% Smiley
I just checked, and I got my normal payment.  No idea how to help. Sorry
If you paid a 23% fee you must have had an infinitesimally small reward.  My fee was 0.0662%. Reward 0.07121171 btc, fee 0.00004715.  Or it was about 6 cents on an $89.30 reward.

yeah  but if auto withdrawal is every day  to pull  .0712 btc you need to mine at about 120th or 10 s9's

I only put 60th  at pool for now
I guess then I'm interested to know if the fee is proportional or fixed.  If it's fixed then ivvyme is mining with about 0.4 Th/s.  At that rate ($0.25/day) you are probably better off on another pool.
If it's proportional then either his calculation is wrong or something is messed up.
