281  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: June 08, 2015, 08:55:42 PM
Can we sell our hashrate at any time on genesis?? They said lifetime but can we sell if we need the BTC ??

I would hope so.  I just calculated what the payback would be at their lowest $0.42/Gh offer.  Assuming difficulty continues to stay where it is now, no increase or decrease, you are looking at 845 days for a breakeven.  I don't understand how there is a market for this.

It preys upon those who are not good at math, ignorant of present bitcoin mining trends and those who do not take the time to do the math.  I could tell by the facial expressions of the Genesis owner that he was totally surprised by the announcement of Guy's (SPT's) venture into mining for themselves in a merger with BTCS.  Guy saw the writing on the wall with cloud mining at present price of bitcoin.  He knew what time it was.  Hence, the merger with BTCS.

I was actually laughing when I saw this dude from Genesis trying to sell cloud mining to all of us in that video with Guy sitting next to him.

The only thing more profitable than using your ASIC's to mine bitcoins is to get people to pay you upfront more money than your machines can mine.  That's cloud mining.

Sold - thanks for your interest.

Good luck with the sale, but daym that's expensive to take a risk with in China of all places. That's $0.10USD per KWH.

I thought those places were less than 1/2 that.  Shocked

I have hosted there for a long time.  Never an issue that I did not get compensated for.  I have been very happy with Mr. Lee.
If the miners go down he pays you what you would have mined, not just electricity credit.
The primary reason for going there is I was able to purchase the miners at a discount with no shipping or set up fees.  So they have been very profitable.
But I do pay less for power at my US hosting sites in WA state.

  Hosted Antminer S5's for Sale

THESE ARE SOLD

I am interested in selling 10 of my S5's currently hosted with Mr. Lee in China.
Not getting out of mining, just need some vacation cash.

$350 per miner unless you want all 10 in which case we can discuss some savings.
Hosting fees are $1.416/miner/day and are paid through June 20, 2015.  You would pick them up after that.

I will sign them over to you.  They can be left with Mr Lee, which I would recommend, or you can have them shipped where ever.
The Lee Group's Chengdu facility recently went through some significant upgrades and service has been extremely steady.

Please PM me if you are interested.

I stand corrected on the reimbursement.  Better than I believed.

agree with @ clgrissom3

but can we get some info on what is happening at neiming? 5.5 days downtime and counting. this is turning out to be an interesting way to earn btc with your miners - mine through compensation

You are not "earning" anything. You are just going to get credited what you already paid for hosting.
Not what you would have earned for mining. Assuming all the downtime is calculated correctly. Big difference.

You guys are very gracious about losing your money.  I guess I'm less forgiving.
289  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [lee group]419$ the sales promotion of hosted antminer S5(golden psu included) on: May 13, 2015, 05:35:29 PM

It looks like the Chengdu data center is back on-line right on schedule...good job Lee Group team and thanks.

I have to take issue with "good job."  Weekly shut downs for maintenance is not a good job.  Inaccurate mining monitors that do not show what is happening real time, is not a good job.  Constant pool hopping by our miners due to poor internet connections is not a good job.  And inaccurate downtime recording is not a good job.
Additionally - I received an email last week showing the amount of credit owed for April which made no sense at all and did not even tie into what their own monitor showed for downtime hours.  I replied with a correction but have not heard from anyone nor been paid anything as of today.
So while the Lee Group has a good reputation, it's at risk because this past month has been a disaster.  From hosting to customer service to communication.
Definitely not a "good job."

All my Chengdu miners have been down for 2 hours now.
But the monitor still shows them hashing away like nothing is wrong.
291  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER C1 Discussion and Support Thread on: May 10, 2015, 09:10:46 PM
Alright, I've got a major issue with one of my C1s.

This miner was working fine last week. I can't for the life of me figure out why this is hapenning.
I have the same issue with the same board.  But mine has developed short.  If I hook it up to the psu the psu shuts down.
So I'm running on three boards.

not to pile on, but to show a payment.

Ditto.  Got paid and cashed them to BTC

Now 350 btc owed and I see the volume is up to 3.5 Ph.  It was 1.8 last night.
Glad I'm not in the position of trying to get paid from these guys.
293  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [2600 TH] CKPool (kano.is) from the cgminer devs [0.9% PPLNS] on: May 07, 2015, 04:58:21 PM
your payouts should go up
Just turned all 12ths of my miners OFF. In the last month I spent 300.00 usd more in power than what I made in BTC.

Good luck to all and hope to join in again soon.

Sorry to hear that you are all out, but thanks for the ants. They have a good home Smiley

I'm happy your doing well with the ants. I have some s3s and s2s if anyone is interested.

With the power costs, heat and low BTC price I can just buy BTC now with what would spend on electric  .115 c pkwh

I'm very sad. Sad Sad Sad     I like KANO'S pool and mining BTC.  I was the 1st one who signed up for his pool.

Let's hope BTC goes up soon.

I'm not to be a dick here.. you're saying that you needed 1 more bitcoin out of what you mined (no idea what your earnings are) with the 12TH's to make it worth it last month? what is your total run since you 1st started?
I expect a loss here or there mining, but what is the killer reason to turn it off this month when you lost out last month? unless you just want out?

as for the ants, whats your costs? where you at? im guessing not an aussie?

I too have shutdown the s1,s3and  the 12 garden asics, i would also like to learn how to set up solo mining???

sorry, your text was mixed up inside every other quote

Your fine (not being a dick)

I made aprox 2.9 BTC and spent 800 usd on power, I also rented hash for another .8 btc   I have made about 10  BTC since I started mining in February of 2014.

I have made a lot and bought a lot of equipment. I just can't let all my hard work go away.

What once was a small loss in mining luck is now a ball breaker that can't be over come.

if you would like to audit my accounts your more than welcome.

There is a thread on under-clocking the S1's with a pencil mod and I assume you can do the same for S3's.  Your hashrate would drop obviously, but you could mine profitably.

294  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Sfards: SF3301 sample chip is available [Updated 04/05/15] on: May 07, 2015, 04:53:15 PM
Hmm. My can do 0.51 Wt/Gh (freq. 400, 1.3 Th). At acceptable noise level.

May be it is not so "dead quiet" like Avalon 4.1, but S5 a) cheaper, b) easier in deploying.

Also, S5 is better in price/Gh if I am not mistaken. But you said it already.  Wink

The avalon 4.1 becomes really easy to setup.
After the first one is setup on a rasp pi 12 more will just plug n play. Running very stable.
Plus you can stack them 2 or  3 high as the pcie's are on the back end.

If your s-5 is doing .51 at freq 400 1.3th  you did a fan mod.
BTW they can be fan modded and noise level is okay at 1.3th  somewhere I have a thread on it.

But price wise 800gh for 2.3 btc =   66 cents a gh
vs 1150gh  for               1.66 btc = 33 cents a gh

Which is what I said.  Believe it or not   all this is not off topic.

those 2 numbers   66 cents a gh vs 33 cents a gh  are my pricing guide for this new gear.

Too close to 66 cents and it is over priced.  Too close to 33 cents and price war with bitmaintech.

Should be very interesting to see what they do.

Nice summation.  I think you have gotten to the nub of the issue.

I don't know if I'll order one.  Depends on the price and at the wall efficiency.
But it sure is exciting to see a new and likely serious miner!

20 hours!!! WTF?
298  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [lee group]419$ the sales promotion of hosted antminer S5(golden psu included) on: May 05, 2015, 05:38:24 AM
Agreed.  I am not understanding the "maintenance" part of it.  I miners at a couple of other sites in the USA that are never down more than an hour for planned maintenance.
299  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [lee group]419$ the sales promotion of hosted antminer S5(golden psu included) on: May 04, 2015, 07:07:14 PM
Chengdu Data center will do maintenance on 5/5/2015, The maintenance will start from 8:00 and end at 20:00(Beijing time, GMT+8), sorry for the lose of mining time, and we will cover the lose

What's going on ?

Also, When our miners go on and off, this isn't reported in the offline history. I got numerous emails from my pool warning me that the miners was ON and OFF for around 36 hours.

I received an email from Lee stating yesterday that their internet connection from Chengdu was not stable (no surprise).  This was corrected late yesterday after about 24-36 hours of pool jumping and reduced hashrates.
I have had a few machines with short term issues today, but all are running fine now.

I sent back my credit notification for April with questions due to the chart having both negative and positive downtime hours.  The result was lower credit owed than the monitor site shows.
I added notes about the fact that when the internet connection goes bad, the reduced hashrate and pool hopping does not show as downtime.  For me it is at least 50% down time.  So I recalculated and added hours owed for credit.
No response yet.
300  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [lee group]419$ the sales promotion of hosted antminer S5(golden psu included) on: May 03, 2015, 10:01:14 PM
I have all of my miners in the Chengdu data center now.  Only 6 out of my 15 are showing any hashing at all and they are just barely registering in the pool...the other 9 are just missing.  I've seen nothing but low GH/S for the past 9 hours.  The real kicker is I only have 2 downtime hours to show for it so far; when the hashrates get super low they are not registering as offline even though they drop out of the pools.  Several of my miners are showing all three pools as being dead even though they are not offline.  They are not producing hashrate anywhere but they are not offline in the Miner Monitor.

Agreed - downtime like this is not being recorded.  I took a snapshot of all my miners with them.  In addition to running slow, they are also constantly switching pools.  So the ones that are working are bouncing off all three pools every 20 minutes to so.  My inbox is overflowing with pool alerts.
If I add the hashrate for these miners on all three pools it's 47% of expected.  Started around fight time last night.
