541  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I'm after a gambling site for ufc betting that accepts bitcoin on: December 17, 2023, 05:59:15 PM
If you are ready to make some concessions on your first requirement you should try web3 decentralized sportsbooks because they are the only ones unable to lock/steal your funds like bookmaker.xyz, overtimemarkets.xyz, dexwin.bet, blockchainbets.club you can also try exchange bettings they are way less likely to lock your funds than a common sportsbook even if they are able to do it.  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5415332
But if you prefer to stick with traditional ones, Sportsbet has a pretty good reputation here.
542  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does match fixing concern you often? on: December 16, 2023, 10:58:58 PM
Usually the vigorish taken by the bookmakers is higher for small leagues of small countries, it means the RTP of those bets are smaller and it's hard for the punters to make profits on them. It's because there is less datas on those leagues available but also because matches are more likely to be fixed, which can lead to big losses for the bookmakers. Sumo wrestling had a very bad reputation for that, but I had recently the good surprise to see this sporting discipline appearing at some sportsbooks.

Weirdly(or not) the only one noticing it and talking about it here, doesn't wear a signature, it's a little bit disappointing.

- Respect my authoritah! [Yours, not mine, of course.]

I don't get what you mean precisely, you've first replied to my post 3 days ago and then you have deleted your message for unkown reasons before I can answer you , and now you are posting again on this message... https://ninjastic.space/post/63321597
I think you didn't understand what I was referring too. It was sarcastic actually. People don't promote services in their signature for free you know, that's why they often post on random topics they don't really care.
544  Other / Off-topic / Re: Simple advice, don't get carried away by people success stories. on: December 16, 2023, 09:56:45 PM
Yes it's called the survivorship bias, if you only listen to successful guys you won't figure out the real difficulties because they've skills or advantages, sometimes they don't even realize themselves, you don't have or because they've just been lucky. It creates a skewed perspective where you're only seeing the winners, not the countless others who faced the same challenges but didn't make it. It's like watching a highlight reel of a successful gambler who hit the jackpot. What you don't see are the countless bets they lost before that big win. Learning from failures and struggles is just as important as studying success stories.

Concerning OP's friend story, a golden rule in trading is to try to buy low and to sell high and to avoid doing the opposite. So when you invest at a high price after a pump it's usually not far away from the top, so you need to be very cautious.

545  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: JustBit.io scamming again so much for No KYC for Crypto on: December 16, 2023, 09:35:33 PM
No KYC for crypto players, only means one thing in English : No KYC is required when you are a crypto player. Doing the opposite, especially after accepting deposits, is a scam, and certainly a criminal offense in most countries even if they have written something else in small characters somewhere in their ToS. Cryptoplayer111 is not a company he is just a random consumer who has decided to play at this casino because they claimed(and still claim) to not require KYC when you play with cryptos. I hope Crypto Guru will lower their grade, because they're obviously dishonest and untrustworthy. In addition they use a similar name to a real No KYC casino (because it's a Web3 one) Just.bet, so I guess they do it on purpose.

Hacking, scamming and Ponzi schemes are precisely what nocoiners and gold bugs blame Bitcoin for. So I don't think it's specific to altcoins unfortunately Undecided Bitcoin is maybe the highest secure blockchain but it's not safer than gold or cash money while it takes huge fees for every transaction and consumes much resources. And please don't say you can use Lightning Network if you want to save transaction fees because it's wrong, almost no platforms, merchants or crypto users accept LN payments. You talk about campaigns but which one pays its participants through LN nowadays for example?

Ledger Responds, Over $480,000 Stolen
Wintermute’s Head of Research, Igor Igamberdiev, reported that a script infected with malware was uploaded to Ledger’s NPM register at 9:44 am UTC. However, Ledger has since responded, saying they deleted the malicious file and replaced it with a genuine version roughly four hours after the script was uploaded at around 1:35 pm UTC.

Ledger has also reminded users to be keen before signing off on their transactions, emphasizing that all addresses and information displayed on their interface are the “only reliable sources of information.” Earlier, the hardware manufacturer assured clients that their devices were not compromised.

Despite these assurances, Lookonchain, a blockchain analytics platform, said over $480,000 worth of assets were stolen before Ledger patched the error.

554  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 Oscar Awards bets and discussions on: December 15, 2023, 05:00:20 AM
@Saint-loup. It appears you do not understand. Similar to my enjoyment for the movie the Holdovers, I liked Sandra Hüller's performance and to win $100 I would only need to bet $15. This is a bet for fun on the Oscar awards. If this is a bet of inner conviction then I would bet everything I have. You make it appear that this is a serious challenge hehehehe.

In any case, if we are talking about a winning bet. Lily Gladstone is very much praised by the critics and speculated to win but only very few people have taken notice on Sandra Hüller's performance. Also, I can use the same argument on you, if you have Lily Gladstone with inner conviction then why would we need to wait for Emma Stone's performance?

However, I will accept your bet and it appears that you might be afraid that I might not pay by telling me I will be tagged by DT members. I will send you the money and you will also become the escrow for this bet. We use 1mbtc as the price for me to win 6.5 mbtc from the bet. But I have my proposal, if Sandra Hüller is not in the final list of nominations the bet will not continue.
To be honest, it would really bore me to have to care about that bet during several months and to waste transaction fees for nothing at the end if your actress is not qualified. So I have a counterproposal, if Sandra Hüller is not nominated, your bet will be replaced by another one, on another actress, with other odds then. It would be a kind of joker.
So you would need to choose 2 actresses instead of one and we would need to agree with the payout of the 2nd choice. Of course if Hüller is nominated, your 2nd choice will be voided, and won't count anymore for the victory.
I would have a joker too, but my joker would be Gladstone Lily  Tongue LOL
If our joker is not qualified either, there is no 3rd joker, and the bet will continue to the end.

My other proposal is to change the bet into a bet against Gladstone at 1:1 in case of failure of Hüller's nomination (while Gladstone being nominated), instead of a 2nd actress bet. That is to say I would pay you 2mbtc(your stake+mine) if Gladstone doesn't win the best actress award and I would keep your 1mbtc stake if she wins. If she's not nominated I would send back your stake(1mbtc).
555  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 Oscar Awards bets and discussions on: December 14, 2023, 11:35:08 PM
@Saint-loup. Hehehehe are you a hustler? Why would I accept your offer if I can risk my money on the sportsbooks' offer with better odds. Sandra Hüller is presently on 7.50 for best actress. However, I will accept your offer if you agree that my bet is Emma Stone against your Lily Gladstone. Also, I cannot agree if the price is in crypto. This will be a problem for the loser. Let us agree on $50 and pay after the winner is announced using an acceptable altcoin if fees on bitcoin are high.
It's not the same thing as a sportsbook bet because at sportsbooks you would lose your stake if any other actress win, while here you would only lose $50 if Gladstone is the winner, and nothing else, so it's not the same thing. Especially if you think Killers of the Flower Moon is not good...
Anyway if Sandra Hüller is your favorite in your heart and your inner conviction it wouldn't be funny to bet on someone else you don't trust and you don't like simply because she is better rated by bookmakers (who are wrong most of the time).
So if you still want to bet on her I'm ready to take your bet at those odds (ie 7.50). It means it would be a 6.5 to 1 paying bet (6.5:1). If you win I would pay you 6.5 what you would pay me if I win. For $50, I would pay you $325. On a sportbook you would pay $50 to bet and receive $375(7.5x) if you win because you would receive your stake back($50) along with your winnings($325)(6.5x). Here you don't pay anything to bet, so you keep your stake but you receive the winnings only(6.5x). What do you think of that?
If you prefer betting on Emma Stone, I can accept it but only if you really like the movie and the actress's performance. So we would need to wait for its release.

Most probably the API of FUN/USD pair isn't working properly on Freebitco. That's why the FUN price is showing wrong there. The  FUN/BTC pair is right as it's API is working properly. Some people think that the price has increased for the new Roadmap of FUN token. Another reason has been mentioned by some people as well, but it could be a rumour. A message was displayed on the FUN token website that it will be listed on Upbit exchange. But it isn't available on the site now.
The page is no longer available and seems to have been removed but we still can find this announcement from FUNtoken of an Upbit listing scheduled for the 14th December 0:00UTC. I don't really understand why it's a so bullish news to be honest, since more volume doesn't mean more buying than selling orders automatically for me. But in the long run, I guess it increases the visibility and the popularity of the token around the world at least.

FUNToken is excited to announce a major milestone in its journey – the upcoming listing on Upbit, one of South Korea’s largest and most reputable cryptocurrency exchanges. The listing is scheduled for December 14, 2023, at 09:00 am KST (0:00 UTC) and represents a significant moment for the community and token holders. FUNToken will be listed with two trading pairs – FUN/USDT and FUN/KRW.
Upbit’s strict and selective listing process is well-known in the crypto world, making this listing particularly significant for FUNToken. The benefits of being listed on Upbit include increased exposure, strengthened liquidity, enhanced credibility, access to new markets, and partnership opportunities.
The FUNToken team is preparing for the listing by ensuring that all requirements are met, including comprehensive project documentation and legal compliance. They plan to amplify awareness about the listing through targeted marketing efforts and maintain their commitment to regular updates, community engagement, and building meaningful partnerships in the Korean market.

557  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: TrustWallet on: December 14, 2023, 10:43:32 PM
Why don't you use Metamask extension on your phone with extension supported browser? I have been using it since long, and it works for all needs. You won't need walletconnect, since every dapp supports Metamask, you'll be able to connect normally.

I assume you are on android, you can use: Kiwi/Lemur/Mask/Mises, search respective name on play store.
If I was ready to use an extension, I would use it directly on my desktop computer, because it's more convenient to use a large screen and a physical keyboard than a smartphone like an ape. Roll Eyes But I'm scared by it, because plugins can steal sensitive datas like passwords and display misleading informations like fake recipient/deposit addresses for example. And even if a plugin is safe, it can be hacked one day. So I prefer to use a standalone app for connecting Web3 dApps and validating transactions from the dApp. In addition I can check all interactions, I am sure there won't be hidden interactions in the background with the plugin.

559  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Is Samsung blockchain wallet safe? on: December 13, 2023, 11:27:06 PM
I have successfully stored up to 0.3 BTC for 4 years in my smartphone on Electrum wallet. I know this is not the smartest thing to do but I haven't lost my coins because I don't download any app and I don't visit any strange website.
Since this is only my experience and I know I was probably lucky, I suggest you to use hardware wallet if you are looking for cold storage. Even if you will manage to keep your device secure, you have to consider accidental drops (never happened to me luckily in my life), theft, damage, software/hardware problems and etc... Just buy a good hardware wallet, secure your seed phrases and seriously take care of your security.
Accidental drops, damages, software/hardware issues and physical loss are not critical if you have safely stored your seed elsewhere, especially onto a non-digital medium like a simple sheet of paper for example. Only a theft could put your funds at risk, if you have no mean to access your back-up seed quickly. So I wonder why people are so scared they try to dissuade a random Korean(we are not talking about a poor guy from a poor third world country) to store 4 mbtc on a smartphone into a Smasung wallet. Bitcoin has no chance to be adopted one day if people need to be computer scientists and to have an airgapped computer along with another one in order to use it, sadly. Losing 3.9mbtc is sad but it's not the end of the world if it happens(which is very unlikely btw). Most of common bank apps are certainly way less safe than this app, and nobody cares about it. Unless you use it to store amounts of money you can't afford to lose, the only real concern I see for this kind of wallet is the privacy since Samsung company could be aware of the transactions one day.
