I am trying to use sendfrom:

./cryptonited -testnet sendfrom mwurSYjuxueoZnrTH9rN76cuhFtdvVMPHU Cmyoq946jrvuBCcHwzYV1cQV68Bdw1cVbjd "0.01000000ep"

is this right?

I am getting: error: {"code":-6,"message":"Account has insufficient funds"}

when i do ./cryptonited -testnet listaddressgroupings i get:

[
            "mrbw12q8DcB2XmC9sfjufneD8VvmXnYHTz",

523  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [TEST RELEASE] Cryptonite binary for linux (mini-blockchain implementation) on: June 11, 2014, 11:36:49 PM
./cryptonited -testnet sendtoaddress mnmLy8zP7AmBAvdnhzoKPpFDZAowoZE1xq "1.00000041ep" "$RANDOM"

Just typing that at command line seems to work for me.

same here, but not when I loop it

no dice

Code:
mrv.sh: 6: mrv.sh: arithmetic expression: expecting primary: " + ( % 2) * 32768"

you wouldn't think this would be so damn hard...

strange, the script I posted works for me as well as the one you wrote Huh

I'm starting to think my ass is just cursed... on the bright side of things, I am a stubborn bastard and now have declared war on this.

lol, oh i know you are.

Did you delete the .cryptonite dir? If so delete it again then post your addy and I will send you some coin, then try it again.

ffs I've been looking and looking and for the life of me, my tired eyes cannot find the message parameter you are referring to.
The sendtoaddress command will let you insert a custom message into the transaction. Like so:

./cryptonited -testnet sendtoaddress mkNYGT3USmiFEQhCNjTBqdvEyPWBvAZqVQ "1.00000000ep" "my message"

Well shit, not sure what I am doing wrong here. This is my script:

Code:
#!/bin/bash

while :
do
size=$RANDOM
./cryptonited -testnet sendtoaddress myoq946jrvuBCcHwzYV1cQV68Bdw1cVbjd "0.01000000ep" "$size"
sleep 1
done

But it's still giving me duplicate tx error. Any suggestions?

Can't you publish source for a version ready to test? Can't get it working on 14.04 or 14.10

Installing just libdb4.8 doesn't work, and installing libdb4.8-dev is not possible.

Did you add the BTC PPA? I am 99.9% certain you can install libdb4.8++-dev from that

It's just less problematic for people to compile it themselves, but like catia said if there's enough demand we probably will offer Linux binaries. There doesn't seem to be any great reason for not offering Linux binaries.

This I would have to agree with. From what I read the other days this whole issue with libdb4.8 can be solved by compiling from source with 5.1, it just changes your db structure but otherwise the source will compile from readily available dependencies instead of being a pain in the neck. Learn something new every day.

try this:

size=$(($RANDOM + ($RANDOM % 2) * 32768))
528  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [TEST RELEASE] Cryptonite binary for linux (mini-blockchain implementation) on: June 11, 2014, 09:10:48 AM
Will it all be open source?

I believe the current plan is that launch will be full source plus prebuilt windows binaries. Linux binaries are just for testing phase. They are kind of difficult to get compiled in such a way to work across distros. If there is a lot of demand we could do linux binaries.

Really? No Linux binaries?  Huh

Can this be pool mined?

Yes, but in the beginning it wont be a simple job to create pools for this coin. Like catia mentioned, we are in many ways back in the stone age because a lot of the current technology built around bitcoin-based coins will need to be altered quite a bit in order to work with Cryptonite.

I will have to think about this (the pool mining), imho pool mining is not the future of crypto (yes I know you said it won't be simple but it can still be possible to pool mine then it will be pool mined)

534  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NXT/NEM or Monero/Bytecoin? on: June 11, 2014, 12:29:26 AM
You guys do realize, PoW coins can just transform to PoS right...So if the dev of...idk.... Litecoin wanted to change Litecoin to PoS, he could..

So while coins like NXT may have the heads start by a little bit in the PoS department, Any other coin with terrific devs can simply turn PoS and destroy NXT's position in the PoS coin market...

But NEM will be POI (Proof Of Importance), PoW coins can't turn into that.

537  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NXT/NEM or Monero/Bytecoin? on: June 10, 2014, 12:32:30 PM
Why won't PoW last long?

When all the mining power becomes concentrated in 2-3 large mining corporations, which is inevitable given how the process unfolds, how is this different from centralized money printing by central banks? PoW will last another year or two before that happens. When only 2-3 large corporations control processing of all transactions, they will be regulated and dependant on regulators' decisions and rules, and this becomes the same as any fiat currency, except this currency is produced by solving blocks, but it will be far from the idea of decentralization that crypto currency came up with.

my head is spinning lol, sorry if i confused you guys but i wasn't sure what was happening, i thought it would send from my main wallet if i didn't specify which wallet to use and the listbalances was throwing me off
540  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [TEST RELEASE] Cryptonite binary for linux (mini-blockchain implementation) on: June 10, 2014, 04:16:28 AM
Ok well using sendtoaddress will randomly select some of your addresses to send coins from, so it's highly likely n4Ao was emptied, because I can see you've made a large number of transactions in the last hour.

Quote
pretty sure, i will send 10000.00000000ep to there again and then i won't do anything with my client
Yes it's now showing a balance of 10000 for me. Looks like everything is working smoothly. If you run listbalances again on n4Ao you should get the same thing.

yep, n4A0 looks good now but look at my above post where i sent you 1000000, my balance didn't change, it is still the same before and after i sent you the coins
