And that's why now people that want to us the ripple system have to register their identity. And if you don't? They lock your wallet? Omfg... They have now truly become Paypal 2.0. Ripple as a "protocol" is no more. A email was sent out to ripple users saying they have to supply their personal info to use it. The US gov't wil do what it takes to kill/control crypto.

For the second time, I tried GetGems on my android phone and a friend's OnePlus One.
After about a week, I see 100+mb of data usage on each device, despite very little time spent using the app. Also, the OPO showed high battery usage. So unfortunately it's got to be uninstalled again...
Then I looked on my Nexus 7 2013, and the app has used 285mb in the past month, and 247mb of that is background usage. Again, I've barely used the app on my Nexus.
It's hard to believe the data use is from emoji/gifs/media. And I don't want to restrict the app in any way from it's default settings. Maybe some of the data use is from the app updates?
Anyone else out there with this issue?
There is a new update on google play, it fixes this issue.Edit: I think it's the new update, I am in the test group and we received an update today but it might not be updated on google play yet but it does fix the high data usage.

guys.. relax... it was just an idea someone posted on telegram and got taken a bit out of proportion.. no reason for everyone to go off on a mad one about it.. if people move they move, if they dont they wont.. there really isnt that much of a reason to get worked up about it..
mill0601: your a bit out of order say "what have the completed so far"... have you noticed that the network is solid as a rock? did you notice the 1 year+ of seriously hard graft they put in? as for what they are working on now, jeff posted about that in reply to you i think a page or two back, if it wasnt you, go back and look.. a white paper takes so long cos its a really long and very technical document and its not going to get written over night. your likely used to the 2-3 page blog post type "white papers" normally released in the crypto sphere.. well that isnt whats being produced in nem and people will find out once its ready, so please... just relax.. why on earth would the devs work their asses off for over a year to release such a good platform only to sit around and twiddle their thumbs after we launch? the more they post on the forums the less work that gets done..
This is in the forum shoutbox: [May 06 02:45:44] makoto:https://muut.com/neweconomy [May 06 02:45:53] makoto:we are exploring using muut from now on On https://muut.com/neweconomy some of the NEM core people have started posting on it, so is that going to be used and if so then what happens to the forum?

So, can someone tell me, if I send a message to someone knowing only their user name, do they only know my user name, or do they also get my phone number and real name? Is there a way to edit my user name? No they will only know your username, although it gives you the option to share contact info. Also, what is the difference between Secret Chat and just sending a message? Does the bitcoin wallet generate a new address every time I receive some? Is there a way to manually generate a new address? Not sure about this, maybe someone else knows? Finally, is there any documentation for the app? both How to Use and How it Works type info? There is no FAQ yet, which should be available on the website, i guess when the app is ready and some bugs fixed it should be done. Cool thanks. Would love to get a message from someone and maybe play send some gems back and forth. My username is Pilot if anyone is interested. I can only find pilotdave, is that you? No it's pilot, i could find him. you will see @pilot There must be a bug in the search, I can't find him. Someone else was also having problems with the search yesterday.

That is one way to look at it, I would like to think some good for crypto will come out of this. Hopefully this will show people what crypto can do and take a closer look at it.
Edit: On second thought, so what if what you say is true, not much good as come out of crypto so far, most people are in crypto to make money. I don't see any devs coming together to come up with an open source payment system that meets the needs of average joes.

So what some of you are saying is that instead of WU going with Ripple's fast, cheap payment system (which is different from the XRP coin), WU should have gone with BTC's slow bloated blockchain?

I did a second txs for 11 Gemz (10 after exchange fee) which showed up faster.
Sending Gemz to people you have for contacts is very nice, it's just like sending a text message. It will be very easy for people to send Gemz to each other.

I sent some Gemz from Poloniex to my Android phone app over 30 mins and still not showing up. The txs hash d5a3343be7c7fc4c8e86a096c5c06f052ee8c2130187d1429f1b825161dee101 doesn't show in the blockscan.
How long does it take?
Edit: maybe I my send amount was to small? I only sent 2 Gemz's
Well it looks like you only sent 1 Gem? and actually its exactly 30 mins now as I'm posting so maybe you sense of time is a bit off if this is the transaction. https://www.blockscan.com/tx?txhash=d5a3343be7c7fc4c8e86a096c5c06f052ee8c2130187d1429f1b825161dee101I sent 2 gemz from Poloniex, 1 gemz was taken as a tx fee, the timestamp on Poloniex says 2015-05-04 15:25:20, so no, my sense of time isn't a bit off. Well I did re-edit my comment to remove that point cause I realised their may be some kind of delay in the pipeline that wasn't on you. Which obviously there is about 15 min lag from you sending to it recording on the blockchain which I would be more inclined to put on sending from an exchange probably. I've waited hours, days for transactions from exchanges, generally you can't judge anything conclusive from it. The txs on Poloniex said completed just mins after the withdraw but I'm not sure just what completed means. From using Poloniex with other coins, I find them to be very quick.

Search for Cyb3rpunk.

Just some quick questions:
I have a keyboard in New Group and New Broadcast List but no keyboard in New Secret Chat and Invite Friends. Is this right?
How do I send a message to someone? Like send a message to peled1986? Can someone post some steps?
Thank you
Edit: my GetGems id is VicVegas
For secret chat the other person must be online or else you don't see the chat box and it will say "waiting for other person to get online", then you will see the chatterbox if the other person is online, with invite friends there is no keyboard you just select the names you want to invite. You send messages by just tapping on a username and you can message there. I tried to search for your id but can't find it, is that the username you signed up with? yep, Daniel was able to find me, what's your username? I will try to find you.

I have been in talks with Ian since the early days of BTS. I have reviewed his work and consider it superior to Ethereum. I would likely take an approach similar to his and adopt his code if it gains any traction and is proven. Performance is my primary consideration as well as simplicity.
https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php/topic,15886.msg205857.html#msg205857 So, BitShares might adapt AT too! Very interesting - thanks for sharing His, "superior to Ethereum", comment is what caught my interest. I just wanted to relay that to everyone into Qora/Burst. Indeed. Not only will it make Ethereum completely irrelevant before it even gets off the ground, but also beats Supernet and Blocknet by not needing a redundant coin in the middle. Qora and Burst will do all of that and more. I've already bought some while the oblivious people have been selling cheap, but tempted to grab a bit more before that all-important cross chain transfer happens and makes history. Is there an ETA on the cross chain transfer?

You can use this to spam txs, it uses Nickel, a set of tools written in python to interact directly with NIS. I have only used this on Linux and it might need some libs installed, just run it and if any errors install missing libs. Download Nickel: http://s000.tinyupload.com/index.php?file_id=33119505436068887222In the folder there is a script called nickel, just add the private key for the account from which you are spamming from and put in the address of the account to where the spam is going, ie: python ./nickel.py send 0123456789abcdef0123456789abcdef0123456789abcdef0123456789abcdef NBCNGAGUEGFBY2SUV4Z66ZSOENJ4GGBF52J3DI6N 8000000 The 8000000 means 8 XEM will be sent. The fee for txs is set in NemConnect.py and it is set for 2 XEM, it can be changed if you like. Create two wallets, put some XEM in one of them and spam to the other wallet, when first wallet is empty then spam from the second wallet back to the first wallet. Repeat. You will only be losing 2 XEM a txs so it is pretty cheap. If your computer can't handle the 1 sec txs speed it can be changed in the nickel script. Edit:node must be BOOTED to execute any nickel commands Edit #2: If you have a wallet with a good POI score then make sure you are harvesting from that wallet but don't spam from it, you might be able to recover your txs fees from harvesting.
