Can somebody help me to run the wallet on a MAC?

I have downloaded the file at MEGA, I have unzip it, from here.... Some help is much appreciated Smiley

Mac has its own Java, not sure if compatible with Qora.

You will have to follow these directions to get it to run (don't think clicking on the .bat will work)

For the Mac(version 10 or higher), you’ll need to make sure that you edit your batch file’s permissions so it is executable. So for example, if your batch file is named batch file, one way to change its permissions is to right-click on it, click on “Show Info”, and then change the permissions under “Permissions” to show 755.
What 755 does is to give permissions of 7 to you, 5 to your user group, and 5 to everyone else. With a permission of 7, you can write to the file and execute it. With a permission of 5, you can execute the file but not write to it.
Another way is for you to change permissions of the file is to go into Terminal, and enter this command that changes its permissions. You’ll need to be in the directory that batch-script is in for the following command to work (or you’ll need to specify its full path) chmod 755 batchscript

Now to run your batch file, you just need to either specify the full path to the batch file, or if you are already in the directory where it is located, you can type:

./batchscript

Note that you have to put the “./” in front of your file name, in order to tell Terminal to look for the file in the current directory.

I am a mac OS X Mavericks user.
I am not very technical and need help.

I am starting a bounty for a youtube video of installing and using the client:
Setting up oracle java 7
Downloading client
Unzip it
Starting client
Entering the seed in order to get Qora from IPO
Sending some Qora and executing other commands.
Register and Naming an address

And try to explain everything with a nice english voice.
Please pledge some Qora/Btc to make this happen, people need to see how easy the client is to use!
Pledged Bounties:

Peled1986: 0.2 btc

See if this helps:

Is it normal that two clients are generating most of the blocks or is this because of the forking that is going on?

Only a few accounts are generating I guess it is normal at the early stages.

Getting connection errors are normal because most peers are behind NAT.

Your the developer and you guess? You don't know how the blocks are generated or under what conditions?

Look, Im not being a dick but looks like there are some serious flaws with Qora, connection errors are not normal as another project I was on was able to work around this. 5 sec timeout? does it retry if it gets no connection?

To those who haven't gotten their transactions yet.
Are you getting any blocks?
It seems the servers are already fucked.
Why didnt this happen during beta.

How many people where using it in beta? Are there more users now then in beta? Did you stress test the servers in beta?
647  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Qora | Released 16 May | 100% POS | New Source on: May 16, 2014, 06:15:47 PM
So after trying Qora out for a bit all I can say is I feel sorry for the people that put money in to it. This can't be a serious attempt, looks like the peers are hardcoded, I have a green circle that besides it says Oke, connections keep closing, the wallet is ugly. At best this is alpha software

People need to understand that creating NEM from scratch is going to take time, this isn't some copy/paste crap coin. It's. 100% new code. Do you want a rushed piece of buggy crap or something that is stable with new features?
650  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it me or is Darkcoin the only coin with real potentional? 100% anonymous wow. on: May 11, 2014, 11:25:24 AM
KYC  - http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Know_your_customer . Yes the government cant go after everyone but then can go after businesses.  A crypto that you can't use to buy anything is worthless. It's not FUD.

is it normal for a coin that we wait 5 month for a logo? NO.

A logo doesn't make a coin successful,  the work that is put into the coin does. There is still time for the logo.

Considering the valuation of Darkcoin, It's blatently apparent to me that privacy is a legitimate and real concern across all people who use crypto's - and honestly, it makes perfect sense. Bitcoin after all, has most value on the deep web which likely consists of less then legal use. There's also the entire topic of "decentralization" and breaking free from the prying eyes of governing bodies.

I can't help but wonder if this is something the dev team for NEM have taken into deep consideration, because all the signs point to demand for a more anonymous platform.

In most countries anonymous financial transactions fall under money laundering laws and legal business won't touch it and yes bitcoin txs are traceable.

654  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best Alt coin to invest in 2014 on: May 05, 2014, 03:49:10 PM
Some people said Ripple.  As far as I know, this is totally missing the point.  Ripple isn't really a coin, it is a payment system.  The XRP which is the coin of Ripple isn't meant to be worth anything.  It is just suppose to be a small little something that is burnt every transaction and therefore its purpose is not to be speculated on but instead to counter act spam.  The USD, EURO, RMB, bitcoin, gold, silver in the Ripple system is what is meant to be valuable.  As a payment system for moving money around the globe, the Ripple technology is magnitudes better than bitcoin.  Right now the technology is there, but there are no endpoints to use it.  Think of Ripple as like a net connecting lots of different financial institutional and right now all the wires are laid but they just aren't connected to anybody that is home.  That might change in the future.  But even if it does and even if Ripple takes over and smashes everything else, then XRP still won't be worth much.  The whole point of XRP is so that it will be destroyed.  Why is something that is meant to be destroyed valuable?  Many people also complain that Ripple is premined and therefore a scam, but again what does it matter if it was all premined when it is all worth almost nothing.

The tech of Ripple is so much better because in theory if the network gets enough backing by financial institutions than I can send USD to anywhere in the world and instantly have it converted into the currency of that land, all in about 5 seconds, all for almost no fees but burning a little XRP.  The ripple system is a free market so anybody that offers the exchanges for the cheapest margins are automatically selected.  This drives down the fees for the consumer.  And even though I think that as a platform Ripple is of magnitudes more utility than bitcoin, I own very little XRP and like 100 times more bitcoin.  There really just isn't a point in speculating on XRP in my opinion.

657  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [POLL] What altcoins will survive the next 12 months? on: April 21, 2014, 04:04:56 PM
Any coin that uses mining pools won't survive,  BTC and LTC will be the only ones. The future belongs to the NEM, NXT, eMunie (these are just some examples)type of  crypto that doesn't use mining pools or expensive hardware to keep the chain alive.
658  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NEM] NEM -New Economy Movement - No Envy Movement - Updates+Discussion thread on: April 20, 2014, 06:36:28 AM
No one is forcing you to invest in NEM, if you trust the dev's and trust what you hear so far about NEM then take a chance and invest in NEM. If you don't trust the dev's or what you hear about NEM then don't invest, it's that simple. Unless you have some proof otherwise stop with the scam and how unfair it is talk.
659  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NEM] NEM -New Economy Movement - No Envy Movement - Updates+Discussion thread on: April 17, 2014, 12:20:39 AM
i have a feeling nem is going to be allot bigger then most think.. if nem can make good on everything promised at launch i dont think anyone will have anything to troll about! as for the value... i can easy see it reaching 100million market cap fairly fast if everything is functional and ready to go on launch.. and seriously hope there is a really good multipool on launch too...! Smiley
I have same feeling!hope all come true! Cheesy

is there much being done in terms of pre launch marketing? or any plans? i think there should be a strong marketing plan nearer launch time (only if everything  planned for launch is ready)

get nem well known, focus on everything being ready and how well the ipo was run compared to other coins.

build a brand name early.

any thoughts on getting a global design done like > https://nxtforum.org/nxt-promotion/a-global-corporate-design/msg9066/#msg9066

this is very important for branding and this can be done well before launch.. have all websites and forums conform to the new design aswell and get this done early in order to present a good professional image for nem.. just look at how good the image of ethereum and there site is due to just having a good design early on...

can funds be used from the registration fees to pay for such a thing or does it go against the rules?

also seeing as nem is written from scratch i think some exchanges may have issues supporting it so perhaps write up a help guide sort of thing to help exchanges add nem.. perhaps have a direct line to a dev that worked on nem so the exchanges can have answers to questions fast and not have to publicly ask for help...

patmast3r... that makes good sence no point excluding people for no reason.. are you keeping any stakes for bounties or for that auction idea that came up?

edit: also more pics here of website design and client.. i think it looks good! https://nxtforum.org/nxt-promotion/a-global-corporate-design/msg8999/#msg8999

i dont mean to use the same thing just to have a profesionaly done design thats universal so all websites or anything nem related can adopt the same color/design scheme! https://nxtforum.org/nxt-promotion/a-global-corporate-design/msg8999/#msg8999

I think having a unified design aesthetic across all platforms (client, website, forum etc.) is vitally important for NEM. It helps to establish NEM as recognisable brand.

At the moment the client mock-ups, the forum and the website all look completely different, which saddens me slightly...
