If you'd rather not provide any identifying information you don't have to; a total of 750€ can be spent through a card without any verification.

I contacted support before, verified account and I will be able to get card for free.
I do not understand ATM withdrawal fee I have to pay 0.02BTC per transaction + 3% of the amount?

Great to see users taking advantage of the limited time offer!

For each ATM withdrawal, BIT-X charges 0.02BTC while MasterCard charges 3% of the amount withdrawn.

Thats ~5.5 usd dollars + 3% deposit.. will the 0.02 BTC change with time? If btc goes up, it should go down and the other way around?

It's not 3% on the deposit, only if you withdraw cash from an ATM.

Fees are subject to change (go down if need be).

So if I will request this card and receive it, when I "want" to withdraw cash from an ATM should I pay every time these 0.02 bitcoins? It doesn't seem a big deal at all, isn't it? Correct me if I a wrong, thanks.

That's correct. You'll have to pay the BIT-X commission of 0.02BTC and the 3% MasterCard commission.

You brought revolutionary idea but there are few things to be reviewed in my opinion firstly the fee is very very high which is contrary the bitcoin's concept like digital currency with tiny fee and independence with some sort of privacy. Secondly, If I provide all my personal data then what is the advantage of this card over traditional one ?
P.S. With no verification option is very little amount can be used in lifetime. This is what should be top priority to make it complete no verification with any amount of use.

The fees allow such a service to exist. Personal data verification will allow you to use the card without limits directly from your BTC or LTC balances!

Without any verification you can use the card and spend up to 750€. With a simple email verification message you can spend up to 5000€.

It's good to see Bitcoin used as a unit of account, but I hope you will adjust the fees in case of Bitcoin value increase.

The NETELLER card seems to be cheaper, but it looks like your card offers more flexibility (If I'm reading this correctly I could spend money directly from my Bit-X BTC wallet - on NETELLER I have to add funds as EUR, USD, etc. before making the purchase)

Questions:

  • Can I set spending priorities for the card? (e.g. use my USD balance first then EUR, BTC last for card transactions)
  • The cards are not available in some countries (like the U.S.), but do they work in those countries when I'm travelling?
  • Any other limitations we should know about?
  • What happens in case of fraud? Could you restore the BTC balance then?

Grab the card from bit-x representatives or by expressing your interest to card[at]bit-x.com

Start using your card everywhere in April!

P.S. I'm surprised that it's a Mastercard - the Mastercard president of South East Asia publicly said he doesn't like Bitcoin- maybe Mastercard in other countries is more Bitcoin-friendly or doesn't really care what Bit-X is actually doing.

Absolutely! Fees will be adjusted accordingly if any major price changes take place.

The NETELLER card seems to be cheaper, but it looks like your card offers more flexibility (If I'm reading this correctly I could spend money directly from my Bit-X BTC wallet - on NETELLER I have to add funds as EUR, USD, etc. before making the purchase)
That's correct, you can spend money directly from your Bit-X BTC or any other currency wallet.

Can I set spending priorities for the card? (e.g. use my USD balance first then EUR, BTC last for card transactions)
Yes you are able to by setting priorities and limits for each different currency. This is still being developed and should be fully operational shortly.

The cards are not available in some countries (like the U.S.), but do they work in those countries when I'm travelling?
They sure do! Cards can be sent to these countries as long as the main holder is not be a resident of the excluded country.

Any other limitations we should know about?
All final limitations will be published next week (for the most part you can already read through them).

The jurisdiction of this MasterCard™ service is based in Lativa and everything is regulated by The European Union (EU) MasterCard™ rules.

What happens in case of fraud? Could you restore the BTC balance then?
This will be dealt with as per standard MasterCard™ terms of service rules. So yes, the BTC balance can and will be restored in the case of fraud.

Any more questions please do not hesitate to ask! Regards.

they will be dealt as per standard mastercard fraud?
thats why i posted it should stay anonymous , was just trying to get more info. so the ceiling for being anonymous stays at 750$ which is totally a nice amount for scammers. now they pay with it, and can a chargeback happen? i know bitcoins is non reversible, but what is the seller of something scams the buyer now which is more or less what happens with bitcoins

I would like to suggest you guys to please either waive the withdrawal fees completely or put it down to some reasonable amount as BTC0.02 which means $5 per withdrawal is a lot according to me...
I hope most of the members who will issue the card, will surely agree on this with me, as MasterCard is itself charging 3% per withdrawal...

EDIT: Plus, we will be charged with 2.5% forex fee as we won't be getting USD/EUR/GBP as I am from India...
Which means the fee itself totals to >5%, and I don't think it's a reasonable fee tbh ATM...

I have asked the above questions in different thread but didn't get any response, I expect that if I post it in related threads, I might get a reply...

As from the other thread:

The monthly fee has been waived for all of the first 10,000 users to get the card!

5% total is actually a fairly low fee when you think about it. On exchanges you'd be subject to other fees too and here you have the simplicity of having your own debit card!

I'll pass your thoughts onto the team nonetheless.

I think verification is only needed to remove the limits and not for the card to be sent to us... Wink
