Neither of those two as it doesn't fall under any of these definitions. It is a decentralized digital asset.

For me,  bitcoin is a digital currency. That is used online  for many purposes. It can used in many transaction like paying your bills.
It also used to exchange currency by other currency. But it's  transaction are unknown because of its decentralized currency. Also for me bitcoin is a good investment because it's price are still rising in the market.

mon·ey (noun)

- a current medium of exchange in the form of coins and banknotes; coins and banknotes collectively.
---

cur·ren·cy read as ˈkərənsē (noun)

-a system of money in general use in a particular country.

So, is bitcoin money or currency?
Both I guess. It is a money where it can be spent for online purposes with the help of apps converting bitcoin into their currency. A currency because there are too many people using it, it might be not only a country but whole world us using it.

Most of the time people use those words interchangeably, so there is no point to try to define if bitcoin is one or the other, if you take the time to look at all the characteristics of bitcoin you will see that satoshi made a great effort to make of bitcoin a currency or money whatever you want to call it, some people think it is an asset and nothing more but they are wrong.

Bitcoin is "digital currency". Bitcoin is not money because you can buy everything by money. But you can't buy a hambuger, a chicken from McDonald, KFC by bitcoin. Bank can not print "bitcoin". So Bitcoin is definitely not the money I think Bitcoin is similar to stock. Because its price can rise and go down, it don't have fixed price.

Bitcoin is using as money if your paying for things but if you see it as store values that can beat inflation you see it as an asset class similar to gold. But some users of Bitcoin define it as a currency, but there is the matter of wether Bitcoin is money or a currency or both.

I would rather agree when bitcoin is said to be a digital asset and also an investment than to say it is a money. very less suitable to be a money because bitcoin is virtual

I prefer to make bitcoin as currency, this is because with bitcoin then all the functions of the currency we can do such as transactions and so on. I hope someday many countries that legalize bitcoin so that the future of the transaction gets better.

Bitcoin has a properties both of money and of a commodity. Bitcoin has the same properties that we can observe in traditional money.

It is both, it doesn't have to be a currency for one country.
That is what is unique about Bitcoin, is that it is transnational and it has no borders right now it functions more as a store of value than currency or money.

Because of excessive price fluctuations, Bitcoin is a commodity that facilitate to send and receive value very fastly and secure. In the near future, i believe it will transact like all local fiat currencies to buy goods.

If bitcoin is a currency then certainly it is can call as money, so bitcoin is both money as well as currency. Bitcoin is now becoming more common and people have already started using bitcoin as currency for buying thinks, in fact even in some places people can even use bitcoin for shopping in their local markets. Bitcoin is the need of the day and it is both currency as well money.
