mon·ey (noun)

- a current medium of exchange in the form of coins and banknotes; coins and banknotes collectively.
---

cur·ren·cy read as ˈkərənsē (noun)

-a system of money in general use in a particular country.

So, is bitcoin money or currency?

I believe that bitcoin is a currency because it is already used today by big companies such as porn websites and ecommerce websites like amazon so we can trust bitcoins that it is not a thread but it was a good asset for the future.

Maybe Bitcoin is what you want it to be, different people see Bitcoin differently depending on how they utilise the cryptocurrency. If you are paying for things in Bitcoin, you are using it as money. If you see it as a store of value that can beat inflation, you probably see it as an asset class similar to gold and so on.

It is surely not currency because it is not a general use in any country in this world so far. General use means that everyone has to accept it as a payment method and this is obviously nowhere the case. A medium of exchange sounds basically applicable, but because of the limited acceptance you can not really call it as such. For example go to a bank and try to exchange it for money!

Bitcoin is now the best-performing currency. This is not relevant, and arguments over what money is and  also not relevant and have been going on for years with reference to Bitcoin. .... This kind of gold-backed Bitcoin might even give the dollar a run for its money as a reserve currency.

Money is money when and only when all parties declare it to be money. In this basic philosophical sense, Bitcoin is money just as US Dollars, Swiss Francs or any other currency are money. From a more practical point of view, money is usually described as a medium of exchange, as a store of value.

It's not competitive as a payment system, so maybe its value is as money. But it makes terrible money.

Bitcoin is money, just a little better and cheaper than the alternatives.

Therefore, we conclude that Bitcoin is a currency that makes terrible money.

As for me there is no much difference between these two words. Both terms mean that you can use this money or currency to get something, this means that it has a certain value and this makes sense

In my opinion, Bitcoin is a digital currency. But Bitcoin will not be the money. Bitcoin can be transformed into virtual money from the virtual world. Bitcoin will be used instead of money in future.

You said money is a current medium of exchange in the forms of coins and banknotes while currencies are a system of money in general use in a particular country. If you ask me I would say that Bitcoin is not currency, but rather it should be considered as just money. No country makes use of Bitcoin, it’s being used globally just like Gold and stocks, but not widely accepted in any country, so it is money. Currencies are like dollars, euros pounds sterling and like of them that are being used by countries in the world.

True because what matters most here is we profit well enough and we can utilize even for many years. But of course, bitcoin will remain a dominant digital currency even if will the government acknowledge it as become a legal tender in purchasing offline. Likewise, bitcoin is meant to ve a currency but it turns out to be a good asset for everyone.

I think bitcoin is more suitable to say money, this is because with bitcoin then the function of money can be replaced, I hope that someday bitcoin be used as international money so that global transaction easier.

Why is money or currency being brought up just to be confused with each other and bitcoin is even added to it? Everything in a currency is money in general. And bitcoin is money in digital form. We don't have to confuse everything. If it is used to buy then it is money. In the older times they have the barter system and their are no real medium of exchange not until when they created money.
