Could you do an average Joe-Version of this please?

I imagine my father sitting there trying to guess what "collateral" in that case means, how much he has to pay etc.

Can't you come up with s.th. like

Package A (1TB, costs = ca. 2$)
Package B ...

something like that? I think the $/€ connection should be there because not everyone is that much into crypto and just wants to store his files safely... Apart from that, great job!

no it give a 404 error, only work with 0.5.2, but you can use the open cl version, which is working, but worse in terms of hashrate

how many gpu you have? you need a small farm at this point, the diff is too high

the overall profit seems to be around 0.04 btc a day with a single 6 x 970 rig, but due to variance, you need many weeks to get that profit...

by the time this coin get a pool it will not be profitable anymore

my bad i was referring to the one incorporated in the wallet, not the defaul ctrl+c in windows

Sia's tech is focused on enterprise level use and it will be third party apps and hardware that will allow it to be marketed to the less techy crowd. Think of it as the engine. Car manufacturers need a good engine to put under the hood, but many drivers don't know the distributor cap from the alternator.

https://minebox.io/#features  Minebox is a piece of hardware that should be plug and play Sia farming once it is implemented. Bitseed may also be implementing it as well. This is where it gets exciting for little end users like you and I.

A likely scenario would be that many will be using Sia without even knowing just as many Dropbox users don't think about the fact that they are using Amazon S3 and don't have to. Your father would likely be using this third party storage service for the convenience and ease of use over using the Sia client directly.

Will Sia pitch to Anchor into Factom blockchain after they do Ethereum?

Ethereum is for smart contracts Factom is for data and Sia is for storage.

Is there a specific way to restore an old wallet.dat file?

I've tried copying it into folder App data/roaming/sia-ui/sia/wallet/

but that's not working.

Might be making some progress. I'm using the terminal to load and old wallet. But I cant enter the wallet password
as I'm not asked for it, it just skips over the password line? Do I need to use a flag after the filename?

./siac wallet load 033x wallet.dat

Wallet password:
Reading password failed: The handle is invalid.

Many have asked about a Nvidia optimized miner, it seems that KlausT has created a new CUDA miner forked from the official 1.0.5 miner release.
