Can I just complain about some aspects of the Sia wallet?

- I really dislike that the wallet automatically locks after you quit the UI, if I unlock it I'd like it to stay unlocked until I lock it again manually, I am not very worried about hacks or whatever.

- I think it's patronizing and silly that you can't create your own password for locking/unlocking the wallet. I think the ui-generated passwords are ridiculously long and unnecessary and I feel like it's kind of insulting to imply users can't create good passwords, especially if they're using a sophisticated blockchain platform like Sia.

-Unlocking takes a long time, or well, longer than the unlocking of almost every other wallet I've used before. There has to be a way to speed it up. Or, see above and let users have more control over keeping the wallet unlocked.

That's abut it. Otherwise I think it's a very cool idea and am very happy with the software in general. I can't be the only person who has similar gripes though.

My thoughts exactly. The Linux version also takes about 15 minutes to unlock.

I've added a Port for use with Claymore's Dual miner to the pool.

You can for example now mine ETC and SIA at the same time using Claymore's Miner with this string:

ethdcrminer64.exe -epool etc-eu.suprnova.cc:3333 -ewal suprnova.1 -epsw x -esm 3 -dpool sia.suprnova.cc:7777 -dwal suprnova.1 -dpsw x -dcoin sia -allpools 1

The claymore port is on sia.suprnova.cc:7777

I hope some more users will switch over as I've still have 20 % Bonus (per Block!) on the pool so that hashrate is split more evenly and we find more than one block per day on suprnova.

have fun mining guys !

There is still 20% Bonus per Block on https://sia.suprnova.cc

Miners for AMD, NViDIA are linked in the getting started pages of the pool, would appreciate if you spread the hash a little around and grab some free coins  Smiley

Bull SHIT!! - I've been hashing at your pool all frigging Night! I found quite a few blocks..... etc, yet my balance remained 0!

there is a version of cgminer (can't remember which) that proclaims you've discovered blocks like every several minutes, and this is either erroneous or is discovering blocks that the pool is not going to use. I encountered this and was very disappointing to learn that they were basically illusory. I think that might be happening to you.

Yeah - sadly that's the case! SORRY, OCMINER!

Honestly, I think those are low-hanging fruit in light of some of the other more broken user experiences the wallet offers.  Besides, something as trivial as picking your own password....those are security features which help strengthen the network as a whole.  What should be worked on as a top priority:
  • Bugs.  There are a few major ones already listed on GitHub involving hosting/uploading files.  These should be top priority.
  • Visibility into market rates when one is trying to host storage space. It would be nice to see a list of contracts that are already anounced to the network (both from hoster and buyer perspectives), so I can see where in the current market I want my contract to lie
  • Visibility into what contracts you're buying into when you decide to buy storage. Right now, the UI is not indicative at all of how storage space is bought on the network.

That's my opinion anyway.  I'd like to be able to host space and rent space, as that's the major feature of Sia, and I'd like to be informed about it all when I do it.

Pool suprnova .

You have to wait a few blocks for the coins to confirm as with every other coin,  there is no problem.

Ok thanks .

Sia requires usually 144 blocks for coin maturity, I'm already paying after 100 blocks, so you'd have to wait approx 100 x 10 minutes before your unconfirmed coins can be paid.

Each block has a block time of 10 minutes

Yes, Bonus is still available, however, the more miners come, the faster the bonus will be depleted, I hope I can keep it up until sunday.

You get the same hash displayed but your payout will be 20% higher.

Which CCMiner are you using? I've only tried with Klausts (which is also the one linked at https://siamining.com/help)

I can not operate on these 2 pools

There is a windows command on siamining.com/help:

Code:
EthDcrMiner64.exe -epool us1.ethpool.org:3333 -ewal YourEthAddress.YourWorkerName -epsw x -dpool stratum+tcp://siamining.com:7777 -dwal YourSiacoinAddress.YourWorkerName -dcoin sia

Save that to a .bat and Simply change the payout addresses and worker names to your preference.

And if you are looking for an even faster payout, SiaMining.com pays out balances greater than 2,000 sia every 36 blocks (6 hours.)  Grin

Hi,

I need help with the Sia wallet-UI. I have been able to send SC outside that wallet few weeks ago, but I am not able to do it now.

I am receiving error messages as follow (three screenshots I took):
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/6yzkt3qqv2hqtcf/AACG5h4NFewmvfJJBfQ5spYHa?dl=0

I would greatly appreciate an explanation on this, I dont understand why I can't send any SC out. Of course, my wallet is fully unlocked.

Please help!

Thanks

It seems wallet is not full sync. Ensure, it is synced well. And check your balance. If not, rescan the wallet first. It will rescan and update the right number of coins. Then try sending it will work.
