Question: Before PoA, do we need merged mining?
Merged mining is a good idea
We do not need merged mining
We need only PoA
We need both merged mining and PoA

How exactly can the PoW required to send a swift like message be used to secure the Ducknote network? Isn't the whole point of PoW competing to solve blocks to process transactions? How can out of network PoW contribute if they're not trying to make a block?

1. SWIFT like messages will be onchain messages.
2. Social messaging platform will be based on out-of-chain messages (like we have self-destructed messages in XDN)
3. Are you familiar with Bitmessage? They use pretty the same technique against the network flooding. To send message you need to perform PoW. In our case this will be CryptoNight that will be used for additional XDN blockchain protection. In other words, to send the message, you will need to submit PoW. To be very clear: take your smartphone, launch the XDN messaging app, write a message, press the send button, wait a few seconds (doing PoW), Profit!

EDIT: They "will try to make a block".

So you're saying that someone sending a SWIFT-like message might get lucky and solve a block? Do they need to be running a full node then? I am familiar with bitmessage, but they basically run a blockchain that prunes blocks older than a few days, right?

Hm, seems llike you are not very attentive Smiley 1 is not 2, 2 is not 1.
Someone sending a SWIFT-like message will pay a fee as usual.
Someone who is using the social messaging feature will "pay" with PoW and yes he might be lucky and his submitted share can solve the block. They don't need a full node (like other miners don't need it). Social messages will be out-of-chain messages and will not affect the blockchain size. We even may perform a separate message pool not to keep everything in tx pool. I hope it is clear now.

The problem is on the side of polo, xdn and polo are currently not best friends:p And i think it has to do with the update. Hope it will be solved soon!

The problem with relatively large transactions, is solved in the current version.
You are not the only one there get the coins not out of polo, look a few pages back. They only need to reset the wallet and update to the current version.

In the older versions it could happen, that a too big transaction was rejected from the network.
At your wallet home, the coins would be always displayed to you.
In your gui wallet at home, the coins where unconfirmed for a while, and the transaction is marked with a question mark, but the coins are still in the wallet.
Polo just have to reset and update, and the coins would be displayed to you again.

I regret not buying more at 7 satoshi but more dips is likely, i am not willing to pay more than 0.0001$/XDN considering how long time it takes for PoA to be implemented.

I actually hate trading and i am never happy.
