HedgeCoin
A tribute to X13 algo, MaruCoin and Darkcoin

BASIC SPECS OF THE COIN

KGW + DGW
This coin combines Kimoto's Gravity Well and Darkcoins Gravity Wave, Darkcoin Release.
DGW starts from Block 140.

Automatic Checkpointing
Protects against 51% attacks, broadcasts the checkpoints around the notes, its a "self healing" network - not dev intervention is needed.

Time Warp Resistant
We've already included the Time Warp Limitiation.  Blocks submitted more than 15 minutes outside of the blockchain's time will be rejected and other nodes cannot affect blockchain time by more than 14 minutes.

DNS Seed Nodes
We have multiple DNS Seed Nodes running - your wallets should always sync up without the need for adding nodes by hand.

Numbers

Based on Darkcoins payout scheme, early adopters/miners of this coin profit most

  • Ticker updated to HEDG
  • 180 seconds Blocktime
  • Block reward is controlled by: 444444444/(((Difficulty+2600)/9)^2) starting from block 2000.
Before Block 2000, reward is higher. Start mining as fast as you can !
  • Est Max. 33M coins

NOTE: Throwing huge hashes in the beginning will give a lot of rejects due to difficulty Wink

Wallets

FAQ

Q: What about the 2.5% forced block reward to the dev?

The original source held a forced 2.5% of the block rewards towards the dev. (aka 'charity fund')
HedgeCoin removed this feature. There is no charity % for the block rewards.

Q: How much is the premine and how will you spend it?

Block 1 has a 2% premine for funding the developement and promo campaings.
The premine address is HP4guzc2jcsaWpj7t53KDcdCt2MTbiq5zE

Q: So you just cloned the whole thing, and you took the logo to?

No. The logo has been redesigned to look more agressive. This is our way to honour MaruCoin.
Rebranding of the logo will happen in the near future.
The code has been examined thoroughly, and many modifications have been made to the original code.

Q: Why should i even mine this shit?

If you have to ask yourself that question, you most likely got locked up during a few years in outer space.
It's also possible that you just got into crypto and never heard about MaruCoin / Darkcoin

Q: Why the name HedgeCoin?

HedgeCoin is a subtle reference to the original coin, who's logo was a hedgehog.
On of our great roadmap features is the HedgeFund. More info about this soon.

★★★ Premine update ★★★

Following to our HedgeFunds whitepaper, 500.000 HEDG will be moved to the funds.

The remaining premined coins will be destroyed.

Yup. Ninja launch is a scammer's technique especially when the first few blocks are large reward. Its so obvious they will dump the instamine and then later the premine.

// With hedgecoin, 0% of all of the block subsidy should go to the charity address. (thx to einsteinium)
      int64 reward = GetBlockValue(pindexPrev->nBits,pindexPrev->nHeight+1, 0);
      int64 charityAmount = reward * 2.5 / 100;

I does take 2.5% from every block; the block reward was 487.5 instead of 500.

more scam shit....

ninja + huge initial rewards = joke coin

Yup. Ninja launch is a scammer's technique especially when the first few blocks are large reward. Its so obvious they will dump the instamine and then later the premine.

The reward scheme is the same as MaruCoin.
The explaination for that is "Block reward is controlled by: 444444444/(((Difficulty+2600)/9)^2) starting from block 2000, we expect CPU's before Block 2000, so reward is higher"

Since MaruCoin was the FIRST x13 coins, mining with a GPU was out of the question.
Now this implentation makes sure even CPU's and smaller GPU's can profit from the first few blocks.

Code:
Block reward is controlled by: 444444444/((([u][b]Difficulty[/b][/u]+2600)/9)^2) starting from block 2000

Do you even get this part of the code?
