I think you are right that holding bitcoin for a long term is very profitable but now bitcoin price is $900, i wish i can go back to 2015, buy bitcoin and forget about it, and sell it today.
But there are so many people start making new coin, maybe bitcoin price will go down and replaced by another cryptocurrency in the future.

Bitcoin is good for short term and long term investment. We can make money in short time because sometimes the bitcoin price moves fast going upward, so traders do it everyday. But I don't close my doors to look forward to earn money in a long time just by holding cause I believe the value is increasing.
to me i will chose long term investment only, although some people may have good experience in short term investment. but to mr i think long term investment is the best option, in long tern investment there is a little chance to lose money, but if you want to go for long term investment you need to invest a good amount bitcoin, because little investment for long term will never worth you. |

to me i will chose long term investment only, although some people may have good experience in short term investment. but to mr i think long term investment is the best option, in long tern investment there is a little chance to lose money, but if you want to go for long term investment you need to invest a good amount bitcoin, because little investment for long term will never worth you. Even if its just a short term investment, You always need to have a huge capital because if your capital is only a small amount then you profits will also be like that. The price fluctuates everyday so i believe that both long and short terms has an equal value of risks. Day trading requires a great skill of observation and experience and nobody knows if bitcoin will keep increasing , It can go down to $500 and start again to increase that will take years that's why long term investments is not safe either. |

then i think you need to be patience to waiting for increasing the price and it will increase soon. holding bitcoin is a good decision but we can also use our bitcoin for another purpose like trading, investment, gambling, just to make sure that our bitcoin can grow more than what we have now and it is what many people wants. |

You can also make a lot of money from the altcoin market - people are mining altcoins and selling them as soon as prices rise - this is known as pump and dump. If you can get into it early you can make a proper profit since these altcoins dont last for long. As far as gambling is concerned, I am a very unlucky person and never like to depend on my luck for earning money rather prefer to work hard to earning so I cant suggest anything for that. |

Yeah holding bitcoin for long term is really a good way to make money because bitcoin getting more powerful and few month before bitcoin price was $500+ and now bitcoin price is about $900+ so i think that bitcoin will be more increasing its price .

It is a way to make money but IMO at the moment not a good way unless you have years to wait. Investing in bitocoin takes so much time. Before your wallet grows bitcoin has to grow bigger and this is out of your hands. But overall if you invest and hold it down 3+ years then you'll see profit for sure.
Around October last year bitcoin was trading around $697 if you buy bitcoin then and sold it January 2017 you could have make over 40% profit within three months. Depends on how you play your games and smartness. You can even buy bitcoin and used it for trading: Because in trading you make money when price go up and move down. Though trading is very risky and you should not going into it without proper skill and knowledge. |
