Probably a typo somewhere. Check if you have the right pow in the .conf file, right port etc. Try a different pow algo just to check things. Might be that just this algo doesn't work (and hence the low difficulty).

okay i have a bag with uis. How can i burn them into BARR?
Message us here with the amount you're burning, then send your UIS to the burn address: UMz1xPGbHGWacUUtfXefyXWVoJX9Q2kNtF This address hashes to a string of zeroes and is considered provably unspendable. Then message us with the transaction ID and your NXT address. We'll verify on the blockchain that you sent the UIS to the burn address, we'll multiply that amount by .02, and we'll send that amount of BARR to your NXT account. Don't use a NXT deposit address from an altcoin exchange, but you can use an online wallet at trade.secureAE.com. Or a desktop NXT client of course. Full details in our ANN: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1219460.0Can you please point to a clear explanation (or better yet working code) of how that address was generated?

Yes, that address hashes to a string of zeroes, has no known private key, and is considered provably unspendable.
The address was not created specifically for Unitus, but will work with any qt wallet of the same version.

Development UpdateI am planning a major update (i.e. Hardfork), including the following changes: - Increasing the limit on same-algorithm sequential blocks to 5 (currently 3)
- Changing the chain work calculation to use a geometric mean, same as done in myriadcoin and digibyte
- Implementing Digibyte's style of difficulty change so that every algorithm's difficulty is changed every block - regardless of the algorithm that solves that block
- Lastly, replacing the Blake algorithm with Vertcoin's Lyra2REv2
The last item will no doubt be the most contentious, however the Blake algorithm would be the most insecure currently due to the relative low number of miners (as an example a single R9-270X will hash at about 1.6GHs). Additionally we have never had any blake parent coins merge mining Unitus, mainly due to the incompatibility of the Blakecoin coin families. I have chosen to go with Lyra2RE2 as Vertcoin has a consistent hashrate, so Unitus will benefit from that plus Vertcoin gains a stable and fairly distributed merge-mined coin. I am also considering replacing Skein, again the hashrate on this algorithm amounts to very few GPUs. Initial code for about is committed into the Unitus github tree ( https://github.com/unitusdev/unitus), feel free to take a look in the dev and lyra2re2 branches and comment if warranted. Comments & thoughts on above welcomed.

Lyra2v2 is great, cpu-mineable, and is also being used by Lyrabar.

EDIT : blake miner on the site is always with old unitus.info url Good catch. Fixed now. Re Skein replacement, I was considering Quark, but open to other ideas. Ideally we want something that has plenty of parent coin choices, but I'd prefer to steer clear of Scrypt and SHA256

Update
OK, code is looking pretty stable now, most of the issues ironed out. Lyre2RE2 will happen, Skein will stay in place unless you guys can start to offer a couple decent alternatives.
Timing: I'd hope to get the new version out within a couple of days from now, with the hardfork occuring in about 3 - 4 weeks. Given the significant changes involved, best to allow a good period of time before we break the network.
Request: I'd like for a couple of people to be able to run a seed node. Nothing more involved than having a static IP address, allowing inbound connections on port 50603 and be willing to update to the latest version when released.
If you can offer this please PM me an IP address.
Thanks

sounds good! glad to see you have found some time to tinker with this little project of yours again RE: coin supply, probably worth to deduct burned ones on the info page. More then 7M burned already, making UIS even more rare.

Am I counting right, this is 20% of total coins?
