Two ODI series are beginning from today:

1. India vs. West Indies in Guwahati
2. Bangladesh vs. Zimbabwe in Mirpur (Dhaka)

IMO, both of these ODI matches are going to be one-sided; India will win in the first one and Bangladesh should be able to win against Zimbabwe easily.

Shows the lack of depth in the cricketing field. There are only 4-5 countries which are capable of giving quality matches, such as India, Australia, South Africa, Pakistan and England. Countries such as Zimbabwe and West Indies have seen their fortunes going down the drain irrespective of being test playing nations for so long.

This clearly shows what lack of funding can do to the sport. Both countries had their own issues. West Indies cricket board got in trouble with the players not getting their pay while Zimbabwe went through a total economic collapse. It's a shame that the International Cricket Council couldn't do much for them. I am totally against the concept of big three. They have a valid argument about the viewership but if we want to develop cricket in other countries, someone has to make a sacrifice. Else we won't see any progress.

To prove my point further, Just look at IPL. They throw away the money and the talent rises through the chains. PSL did the trick for Pakistan and Big Bash is doing for Austrailia. Any League with International Stars performing in them will yield the country some results. We hardly see players from these countries getting picked up in these leagues from around the world. What I was thinking was that ICC should introduce a sort of a law, which will enforce a participation of few players from these countries. This could give them a big boost iyam.

Anyway back to the discussion, India and Zimbabwe should win their respective matches quite easily.

India have manege to start well and are 104/1 n 17 overs. Kohli is playing on 65 . Should be interesting if WI can pick couple of quick wickets.

It's simply amazing the way Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma batted today and being experienced, took all the responsibility.

It was good to see the WI bat well for a change but it wasn't enough as India easily achieved the total with just losing 2 wickets. Sharma played an amazing innings to bat right through to the end and score 152 and another great knock by Kohli making another century. I just hope the WI can continue to score like the way they did and at least try and make a game out of it like they tried in this match, just their bowling let them down.

Kohli and Sharma steal the show from WI as WI made a good score of 322 considering their players but the way Kohli and Sharma started batting turned the things for India and in the end it was proved that 322 was not just not enough for the team chasing and winning it comfortably. Kohli played the captain knock and helped India to lead the series by 1-0. But this efforts of WI will help them to build confidence and come back stronger in second match.

Yes it was nice to see SL perform well in this match as their form recently wasn't that good. The Asian cup was a poor performance by the team so to see them bounce back strong against one of the top teams in cricket is great to see. We haven't seen him bowl on the decks of Australia and South Africa yet, I am sure he will be even more lethal where the pitches will assist him. The Lad sure does have some genuine swing which he gets from his bowling action and his Pace is decent too. I recently saw a tweet from Dale Steyn in which he said Abbas will most likely dethrone the current Number 1 test baller. You have to be special to get that sort of compliment from him. I hope he doesn't go down the road of spot-fixing. Pakistan surely doesn't need another drama after what happened with sharjeel in the PSL.

A good match, and a great batting by WI. Virat Kohli 150+ went into vain I would say even if they didn't lose, because of the game was a win for them and it was quite easy. Bowlers underperformed I would say. 3 more ODI matches are left, maybe India will win the series, but today's match showed that never underestimate anybody. I am sure Indian players may not have done that, but their bowlers let it loose.

Lol, They got bowled out for 89. What were they thinking? I mean it was only 155 on the board and they were playing as if they were chasing down 200. Poor Batting by the Aussies. Nothing to blame except the batting. Dunno what caused them to panic. They only needed one good partnership at the top and they would have easily gotten over the line. But I must not take credit away from Pakistan. They are the number 1 t20 team for a reason and they just showed us again how lethal they can be on their day. Hopefully, we don't see a blunder like this in the 2nd match. Good Luck to both the teams!
