It might happen. However, in terms popularity and acceptance global community, it remains btc still good than eth. After all, newcomers are trying to invest heavily in btc rather than alt.
Yes that's  right, bitcoin will always become a popular and leading in terms of value but when it comes to profit ethereum was often used in the ico as mode of payment after the end of the campaign. Before they get bitcoin, ethereum first was their profit. Wink

This is very true, not just Ethereum, but also NEO and generally Virtual Machines that work on a blockchain completely decentralized.
Bitcoin it should be only an experiment but people do not understand what really is and invest to it like that does something except to overprice 1mb block.

I think the both of the bitcoin and ethereum are really good coins of the cryptocurrency world. And also I think the both of them will have a good future. I hope that ethereum's price will rise as the bitcoin's price.

I think that it's much better to invest in Ethereum if the person wants to get much more BTC. If they want to get more fiat then they should invest in BTC.

if you would have paid attention when you have played sci fi video games,

then you would have kown that urban planets prevent wars between regional communal governments (china, us, north korea) by having borderless property infrastructure empires.

so similar like what we had in europe before the french revolution, but more sci fi like,

these will not have borders, only corporate and often urban property networks. and they will have their own currencies, similar like those european emperors and nobility

i am quite sure that this will happen.

its only logical, that or these communal national banker cartels and their parliaments throwing hate at each other, plus the world bank dictating the money,

but also maybe a huge mixture of these factors.

ethereum will play in such a world maximum the role of a certification or notarification system

so those cooperate infrastructure empires, and blockchain notarification system will play a huge role in the future financial system of crypto.

now some of you will say: but decentral cryptocurrencies, like bitcoin could still survive in such a world:

answer: no its unlikely because those corporate networks heads will simply not accept bitcoin as payment for products the are beeing assambled in their system, because of bitcoins damaging character.

you can observe a similar behavior today in vietnam and china, where payment with bitcoin is forbidden they have similar reasons.

regards

I think this can only be proven if ethereum already beat bitcoin. But as of now I think bitcoin is still the greatest crypto currency.

It is true that now Bitcoin is the greatest cryptocurrency and in future bitcoin will be more successful as compare to ethereum, so but I think as a investment both currency are very securable so those people are want to invest their money to no need to see the market cap because these both currency's are shows it's own features. So atlast , ethe and Bitcoin both are the future of good cryptocurrency.

Everything I see about ETH inspires more confidence than other altcoin.Perhaps both BTC and ETH can thrive together.

The future of bitcoin is in all these crap forks, bitcoins cash and a lot of others. This is really stupidity path. I haven’t expected that one day BTC will allow to do such things with itself. Ethereum is not bad, but it is falling now.

You can't say that so easily. Bitcoins have been very successful as of now 7.2 k dollars which is alot. Its price keeps on increasing( there is a bit of fluctuation which can't cease to exist). Its price may increase even more in the future so you can't directly say that bitcoins are not the future of cryptocurrencies.

Ethereum is going to implode soon when it switches to Proof of Stake... It is centralized and the supply is unlimited, and it's chain is absolutely not immutable. The DAO smart contract that caused Ethereum to split is proof of this and therefore there is no long term potential with Ethereum at all. You are probably trying to pump the price one last time before it all comes crashing down.

Development in ethereum is on going and very consistent. Unlike bitcoin, you do not have many faction that is turning both the currency and platform in different direction. The adoption for ethereum might be faster than we think because of this.

Leaving personal feelings about bitcoin, I agree with that. Bitcoin was just a pure, amazing beginning of something a breakthrough. But that's it. Future is coming with the other

I think both will stand strong depending on what circumstance you're looking at.

Did anyone else see this chart comparing eth to cmt? https://medium.com/cybermiles/cmt-vs-eth-c7eea2b03632

A very interesting concept indeed that gives us insight into the future of ethereum

FYI - Ethers are as different from bitcoins as oil is from gold.  Ethereum platform is as different from the bitcoin platform as banking is from law.   OP is stupid.

But.  If bitcoin doesn't get it's political & scaling shit together it will eventually be overtaken.

"Bitcoin is supreme because it's been around for six years.  Your shitcoin will never replace it - bitcoin is better."

"Why is it better?"

"Because it will always be the leader since it's always been the leader."

Bitcoin maximalists as a general rule give arguements that're as sound as the OP.
Definitely yes. Bitcoin is the heart and king of cryptocurrency, so its not good that one altcoin will compare to it. Ethereum is just depending on the price of bitcoin so they could not yet stand alone. Aside from that, the platform that ethereum has was different to the platform that BTC have. And even if the ethereum has a potential in digital world it couldn't surpass bitcoin.
