Rad1

We could let the pawn unprotected for this moment. I think if we don't do this he could play Nxe4 and then he destroys our position.

The problem I mentioned last move still applies. Rad1 does not stop it:

22.Rad1 Rxd3
23.Rxd3 c4 (forking our queen and rook which will be captured next move)

I still vote for 22. Ne5

Rad1 2 votes (Hueristic, dre1982)
Ne5 1 vote (xmrpromotions)

you're right. Then Qd1.   Grin

What does Qd1 stop? After he takes our rook on d3 we will have traded 1 pair of rooks and lost our d3 pawn for nothing. We will probably lose more material shortly after that due to our weak pawns and position of his pieces.

Shocking 3rd game for sure. No major blunders in the 4th game. Big surprise to see him lose after being up 2 to 0.

I will vote Nxd7 too because I can't see anything better. Its too bad because our knight on e5 seemed well positioned to both attack and defend. It is just hard to find a better option. Our d3 pawn remains a target and our bishop on g2 is not doing much to help.

By taking his Knight, we allow him a free move of his Rook.

Let him come to us, we get to move our Bishop into the Knight's position.

In the mean time,

23 Rc1

4 votes Nxd7 (foxpup, languagehasmeaning, goltmilk_ boolberry)
1 Vote Rc1 (Timelord2067, )

It's meaningless to "vote on the next move" given how many times participants have said "I wasn't expecting him to do that!"

24.Nc3 loses the d pawn.

I'm thinking it might worth looking at the ugly move f3 after he recaptures on d7.

I'm thinking it might worth looking at the ugly move f3 after he recaptures on d7.

23. Nxd7 Rxd7 24. f3 Rxd3 25.Rxd3 c4 still seems to work.

How about another ugly move? 24.Nc1 maybe? We are not doing well. For those that dislike 23. Nxd7 maybe 23. Nc1 could be another option.

I even looked at 23. Nf3 hoping he would play 23....Nf6 and we could repeat moves but 23. Nf3 c4 looks very good for him. After 24. dxc4 bxc4 we will end up losing our pawn on e4.
