I don't know if this is a good place to have a unbiased opinion. This forum is full of bitcoin enthusiasts so they will be more prone to be buyers.

that is very true, but first you need to do a little self analysis and understand what you truly desire from bitcoin. If you are looking for a little profit, I think you should have bought btc when it had a major dump yesterday, its going up again now. If you are looking for long term profit, buy it soon and don't really cash it out. I believe that in future, you wouldn't feel the need to cash it out, you will be buying things with the same btc, only you will receive much more value than you do now.

I know that , as I said my BTC are from profit only and I have nothing to lose however I would feel bad if I didn't spend it and Bitcoin literally crashed and never went UP once again if you know what I mean and yes I'am holding for long term however I can't see see that "sort of" confirm that Bitcoin will survive years later because looking at the price and the panic right now , it looks like it's dying instead of going mainstream .

We've also been through multiple panics and crashes... "this time it's different..." Well it never is. Historically you buy crashes. I'm buying at this price. Also bought some futures contracts.

The problem is that when we look retrospectively it's easy to say "I should have ..." yes hindsight is always 20/20, but one rule of thumb I've learned is that the faster the crash, the more likely we will have a rebound on the way. With that said, seeing the price drop so fast yesterday was a really good buy indicator. Thats about the ONLY thing I've learned about btc price, the best time to buy is a "flash crash" of 10%+

Bitcoin is currently down to 230$ so i think this is the right time to buy it,and then sell it at 280 or 300$ i have a good feeling that it might jump

been hearing that for over a year and a half...still dropping, adn this may be the scariest drop yet becasue its not just some news, its people at the core of btc who cannot come to agreement. If you shake the foundation, this thing may come down hard. I'm sitting out for now, everyone "feeling" that price is going to rise isn't doing much

I think it is right time to buy as price is its bottom almost on long term investment basis and will rise up again sooner and this time may be we see stability for some period even over 300$.This is time to buy not to sell.

So, let me get this straight, it will be either: a) bitcoin forks, new coins are bitcoin XT but are still traded as bitcoin b) bitcoin forks, new XT coins are traded as a new coin.

Huh? What's the deciding factor to a & b?

a) No
b) Yes

No, man, the only difference would be that people with XT will experience faster speeds and it would not be a new coin, that would destroy the authenticity of bitcoin and if such a day comes when bitcoin XT becomes a separate coin and not a part of bitcoin core anymore, I will shut down all my crypto businesses, cash out whatever I get and leave this digital world behind and retire, I am too old for this shit

Bitcoin developers may say (and do) whatever they want, but once the Bitcoin owners understand that it is not them who has the last word, things will settle down. The recent commotion reminds me of what happened in Linux when some lead developers wanted to fork the kernel... They can create a new coin but can't change the existing one without consensus (true decentralization)

And soon this price will going up again, we just need to be patient, although it is just some speculation but most of people believe of rise of bitcoin. And from this time I will stack my bitcoin and wait until that time to dump so it is possible for me to earn more on both sides
