Yes Asensio still has one year left on his contract with Real Madrid.  Many rumors expressed AC Milan's interest in him.  The Rossoneri are reportedly also speeding up the transfer process.  The news could become a reality because he is starting to be marginalized from the El Real main squad and Madrid are ready to accept a suitable offer to let Asensio go.  Apart from that Asensio's style of play is also very much wanted by Pioli because he can play on both flanks, Milan also really needs players who are quite experienced on the European stage.  But Milan's efforts do not appear to be as smooth as imagined, as Manchester United and Juventus are reportedly also interested in the Spain international.

I have also heard about the news regarding Asensio to Milan in this transfer window. Asensio hasn't been able to give what is expected from him to Real Madrid. Considering that I think it would be very good for him to join a different team to try to shine again. He isn't still that much old so he can play nicely for Milan for a long time as long as he adapts to the team quickly. He has a good talent and he needs to bring it out. Milan need this kind of transfers to consolidate their squad for the Champions League especially.

Just my opinion, but i feel its best if Madrid do not offer Ascensio a new contract; there are quite a few of Real Madrid players that their developments have stalled over 2 seasons, Jovic is one, Marianno, even Hazard. His performance is clearly quite good even though for a few games towards the end Asensio's position is mostly filled by Valverde but I think for next season he will still be very useful especially if you look at the rotation of the midfielders then Valverde will be placed in attacking midfielder.

Spanish media reported that Real Madrid had not get what they expected from Asensio's performance, indirectly meaning Madrid were not satisfied with Asensio's performance, so when it comes to the contract I don't think Madrid will extend or make it difficult for other clubs like Milan to get Asensio. yes it's true, all this Napoli did out of necessity otherwise they won't get anything when the player leaves because his contract runs out.
I think this way is better. Napoli can earn money by selling some players who don't want to deal with new contracts and after that Napoli can spend players with the transfer money, it will be very worth it.

AC milan really understands how they have to keep ibrahimovich even though Ibra is no longer as good as he used to be in playing, nowadays Ibra seems to have become an icon for Milan and as we know the influence of ibra outside and on the field is quite large for the milan players, especially young players, Besides that, Milan really needs Ibra as a leader who is able to awaken the mentality of Milan game so far, so the new contract given by Milan to Ibra actually has a bigger meaning than Ibra has to play in field  and it seems that even if Ibra retires later, Milan will definitely continue to use ibra services as one of the management staff.
