I perceived towards the end of last season that Napoli will struggle this season. Towards the end of the season, they began to struggle to win games which made them wait for several games before they finally won the Scudetto. The departure of Luciano Spalletti and the erroneous signing Rudi Garcia . The French coach has never won any major trophy in his coaching career. I was surprised that Aureli De Laurentiis had to settle for a coach that was sacked by Al-Nassr due to his poor tactics when there were options to get coaches like Luis Enrique, Roberto De Zerbi, Thiago Motta and Vincenzo Italiano. this season Napoli are experiencing a lot of problems so that failing to get the Scudetto is a risk that must be accepted and yesterday I said about the problems that occurred and most importantly the change of coach will have a negative impact in the next few matches because the new coach will not possibly be able to understand the character and the instant skill of each player definitely requires a lot of time spent adapting because the coach plays a very important role in improving a team's performance and this is the mistake of Napoli management in replacing the coach quickly without thinking about the long term.

I totally agree with your point, defending an is not an easy task, especially when you are in a league that is not usual dominated by one team, Italian this season is a very competitive one, and having major team contenders such as Inter Milan, Juventus, and AC Milan ahead of you and with such a gap in point 14, it definitely would leave the title defender with no option other than to fight for the top 4 spot and to play to qualify for the Champions League competition next season. And this is the fact about what Napoli is facing right now, I kind of think the title this season would no longer be in their favor looking at Inter Milan's performance this season, who are currently at the top of the table.

Maybe last season will only be the history that Napoli will make as they were able to win the league, because from the look of things, I don't see any motivation in the players this season and the coach us not that type of person that has the spirit of lifting trophies. I believe that from next season if they continue in this performance, a lot of their players will go for bugger clubs so that they can win trophies.

Napoli is currently still very difficult to maintain its current consistency and performance even though there have been several improvements including the change of coach that has occurred but indeed this is still a fairness when talking about the Scudetto in Serie A.

Bologna just got it after winning over AS Roma in the last match day of Serie A. From Bologna to AS Roma, from fourth to eighth positions, there are only 3 point difference and there are five clubs are fighting to get that position in a next match day. They are Bologna that will have to defend the position and four other clubs: Napoli, Fiorentina, Atalanta and AS Roma.

Bologna are playing well and the position is a recognition for their good performances but with big challenges from other four clubs and with their limited power, it's very difficult for Bologna to defend that position for a long time.

If we look at Napoli's recent performance it is not looking very good. They keep dropping points here and there while Bologna just beat the top team, Inter Milan. Bologna's performance is too good at this moment to ignore. Napoli just lost 4-0 against Frosinone.

Napoli has an upcoming match against AS Roma and Bologna has a match against Atalanta next week. Bologna is currently 1 point ahead of Napoli right now. That win against Inter Milan is going to make Bologna more confident. I think Bologna is more likely to finish in the top 4 than Napoli is. Napoli has the players and class, they need to bounce back really fast from these defeats if they want to play in the Champions League next year.
