As I have always said, Serie A is a super defensive league and not many goals happen here and when it's between two big teams and no one is clearly dominating, the score remains very low on goals. But I have the same thoughts as you. Mourinho's management actually did surprise me. He is basically known for his park the bus mentality but yesterday he had 58% possession.

You are right and I always like how clubs in Serie A play defensive ball and they are known as a team that is quite strong in defense. Ball possession at 58% is something new that I have seen because when Jose Mourinho faces a team that is much stronger he will usually try to defend fully and rely on counter attacks to steal goals from his opponent.

But possession does not matter when you can't create chances, get shots on target, and all that. Juventus had more shots, shots on target despite having less possession. Either way, they have won the match and got the 3 points so it does not really matter how they got them. Roma's defeat put them on the back foot in the top 4 race. There will be no burden anymore for juventus to play in the UEFA champion league next season coz it has removed all of the potential sanctions. I can see how juventus played even more freely without any burden like last season.
