Como is not the toughest competitor in Serie A even if they have scored 8 points from 7 matches. I think the problem wasn't the missing defender, but the weak performance by the Juventus Turin strikers. Vlahovic is still not playing as well as they thought he would. He scores goals every now and then, but it's not often enough that he scores massive goals like he did against Leipzig in the Champions League. Too many penalties and often too many missed chances. Cagliari should have never been able to steal a point away from home.
