Unexpecting result from Dortmund. I don't know how this happened to this team but we can't forget that Dortmund is a team they are going to play against Real Madrid in the Champions League and this match is gonna be definitely much harder than the game they had against Mainz.
Dortmund losing this match was the last thing I could even predict to see. However, we can't forget that Dortmund used mostly the younger and inexperienced players in this match to save some potential.

I'm not surprised at all because Dortmund have already confirmed a place in the Champions League for next season, and it is also predicted to be an advantageous match for Mainz who have currently managed to get out of the relegation playoff zone, but the number of goals scored by Mainz is the big surprising because it was three goals without reply, even though Dortmund controlled possession of the ball, there wasn't much they could do.

Borussia Dortmund not taking their match against Mainz seriously doesn't mean it was as a result of the fact that they have already qualified for the champions league next season, it was just that the players felt relaxed knowing that they are in the champions league finals now so they don't want to overstress themselves which may lead to injury before the finals between them and Real Madrid so that was just the case because I know they will want to give Real Madrid tough play even if Madrid will win them but it will not be in an easy energy.

I get your perspective that Dortmund didnt play hard against Mainz. Avoiding injury and exhaustion is wise ahead of the Champions League final. Real Madrid is no easy opponent, therefore they must be at their best. The rotation of important players by Edin Terzic was smart. The London showdown is the greater picture right now. This win saves Mainz, right? Gaining those three points must be a relief after trying to avoid relegation. You can image the relief and rejoicing! Low-lying clubs' seasons can be defined by instances like this.

I dont know who is struggling the most and for now i would say Union Berlin after they was leading with 2 goals the lost against Cologne with 3:2.
As the game between Mainz against Dortmund is still running Mainz is in front with 3 goals and right now out of the relegation zone.

Basically, Union Berlin managed to score two quick goals in the first half, and Union Berlin should still be able to score another goal. But unfortunately, Union Berlin failed to make another score in that match because FC Koln really could still do their best because FC Koln was also playing at home. And it's true, the efforts made by FC Koln were not in vain because FC Koln managed to beat Union Berlin. It seems like the Bundesliga is no longer a priority for the Dortmonud team at the moment because if you look at the performance they played in the match against Mainz, the Dortmound players didn't force themselves to play to the fullest of their ability so that the Mainz team was able to win with a score of 3-0 in that match and were lucky as a result of winning in In that match they are now out of the relegation zone. Dortmound players chose to prioritize the Champions League final because they realized that the Madrid team was a very difficult opponent for them to beat.

The UEFA Champions League title is priority for Borrusia Dortmund and they would jeopardize their chances of lifting it with some random opponents in league matches. Mainz was clearly better and it could be as you said, maybe Dortmund felt reluctant because they have already secured a spot in the Champions League next season and they probably feel they should reserve some energy for the champions league final. Mainz took the advantage early in the first half and was able to score 3 goals as soon as Dortmund could realize and forced a mistake out of them. Mainz have now risen above the relegation zone and they are almost certainly not going to relegate this season.

Mainz were determined to win after realizing how lose Dortmund was in the game, they gave no room for exploit for Dortmund attackers and the got the result they wanted. Yes, I understand their position which prioritizes the Champions League over the Bundesliga now, but still the defeat they experienced was quite disappointing, because the team they faced was a relatively weak team this season and they had to accept a 3 goal defeat without reply.
With the quality they have, they should not have lost with a crushing score like that. Maybe I would accept if they only lost narrowly, like 1-0 for example. And in this match you have to lose and also without being able to score a goal.
Before they play the Champions League, in my opinion they also have to focus on moral preparation too, one of which is by playing well in their closest match.

Stuttgart also deserves to be discussed because their performance in the Bundesliga this season has been amazing, and they deserve the position they are in the Bundesliga table. With the goals Guirassy has scored this season, it is easy for him to get another contract from a big club, and his release clause is small too. Guirassy would possibly sign for a club that has qualified for the UEFA Champions League because Stuttgart will be playing in next season's UEFA Champions League competition.

In this season, we are having three massive surprises with 16th spotted Stuttgart is having place into top three ranks 6th spotted Bayer Leverkusen is ending their season with undefeated title and Union Berlin which was at the fourth spot is ending at the 16th spot even we are having few more surprises, but these three created good which needs to highlighted, but now we are also having good changes at the top like RB Leipzig is consistently giving good performance and having their spot into top spots Bayer Leverkusen is also good, but they need to stay at this level which will help them for having stay here at the top level.

Serhou Guirassy amazing player and his consistency and quality is also impressive with most chances he needs to stay here at the Stuttgart which will help them for having to keep this performance and consistency but still other options are also available.

I will not see Union Berlin finishing in 16th place in the Bundesliga table as a surprise. Union Berlin is an average club in the Bundesliga, so ending up this season in 16th place in the Bundesliga table is not a surprise for me. Even though Union Berlin played in this season's UEFA Champions League, that doesn't mean they can't finish in the relegation-threatened zone because they cannot maintain the same performance in the Bundesliga for a long time.
