I don't think that Union Berlin is a placeholder in there top of the Bundesliga table. I feel that they are here to contest for the title.We know that it is difficult for them to achieve it when there is Bayern Munich in the league but I am having this feeling that if you Union Berlin will be at the top of the table till January they will buy good players who will help them to maintain the title race till the end. I am so much supporting them and I will not bet against them. Instead I will avoid them in my bet.

If Bayern Munich's game is still not good then Bayern Munich should not be an important problem because the previous few games they often lost, but recently they managed to get a lot of wins against Augsburg, hopefully Bayern Munich will not bounce back so as not to be a threat for Union Berlin.

Bayern Munich have an away game against Hoffenheim three days later and their opponent is not much different than Freiburg as well.

I mean that their position in the standings is also quite high which is 4th. However Bayern Munich couldn't beat Hoffenheim in this stadium for two times recently. As Hoffenheim are having a good season now Bayern Munich might not be very comfortable as much as in the Freiburg game. I just see both teams to score as the best option to go with for this one @1.45. Bayern Munich still have weaknesses in offense so Hoffenheim would be able to score at least one goal here. Bayern Munich shouldn't have much problem on scoring with the help of the momentum they got from the Freiburg game.

I would guess that Bayern wouldn't really have any type of trouble, it looks like there is a case to be made about what could be the key right now, but that doesn't change the fact that they are doing better than how they started, so they should be getting a win out of this. I am guessing that the reason why they were bad at the start of the season is unknown (or at least unknown to me) but they seem to fix it, and playing a lot better these days. If they can keep this up in a sustainable way, they should be beating most of their opponents once again.

Hoffenheim would be in trouble in that case, I remember even last year when they were good, they got a tie, and I am guessing that Bayern will want to get revenge of that game this time around.

DFB-Pokal games started today with 1.Bundesliga winning or leading their games as usual, apart from Darmstadt 1-0 M'Gladbach (25')...

Looks like that Frankfurt , Leipzig , and Mainz has done there homework right as they have won there games already.
Gladbach against Darmstadt is already 1 : 1 now and i guess at least Gladbach will win this match.
Im excited about the tomorrow games and what Dortmund , Freiburg and Bayern Munich will be doing.
Hopefully we dont see any surprise for them.

Currently, we have four matches in progress where all top teams are involved and having good time just Gladbach is suffering lost as Darmstadt is in lead with the score of 2 - 1 in another match Wolfsburg are also leading by this same score 2 - 1 against Braunschweig and Hoffenheim vs Schalke is also one side affair with the score of 5 - 1 Schalke is completely outclassed by home side in last match of today Bochum just have led against Elversberg now we can expect no change in these matches as we have just last few minutes of games.

Tomorrow could be another action packed match with many top order teams are going to face their minor opponents and few Bundesliga sides could be faced each other.

Well with the 1-1 in M'Gladbach at the first minutes of the second half, we might hope that they could win. Surprise no surprise with M'Gladbach, they failed

I hope so but anything can happen. Bayern can make its comeback drastically to change the situation in bundesliga. You can how the standing in bundesliga was also changing so fast. I have predicted if bayern gonna be competing with union to get the bundesliga title. Dortmund is not in good form right now. They have won just one of their last 5 matches and lost three matches. In these 5 matches, they scored 4 goals and conceded 10 goals. It is quite clear that their performance this season is due to the weakness of the defense. Attacking weakness alone was not the main reason for their defeat. I would say if Dortmund coach Edin Terzić is able to strengthen his defense then Dortmund's performance will improve. And they will be able to return to the truck again. However, without the improvement in the performance of the defenders, the Dortmund team will not be able to fight for the title.

In this season we have few German sides which are suffering badly and have decline in quality like Bayern Leverkusen and Borussia Dortmund but good thing happening for them, they are just three points behind from second rank team Bayern Munich which is giving them good hopes for going again at their spot around third or fourth but here they need good defence which is currently the biggest problem for them, and they are not able to stop conceding goals which are hurting them in last few matches.
Their attack is also not performing like they have done in their best hopefully now in coming transfer window they could be having some changes which will improve quality and their performance which must for them as they are second-best team in German League but now in this season they are going to have tough challenge for their spot because Freiburg and Union Berlin both are also doing good job.

Dortmund is really out of form and I think it eventually comes down to them not having Haaland on the team. Just like Bayern Munich is not in form without the presence of Robert Lewandowski. Well, at least not in the first position. I think you guys understand what I am trying to say.

I think a lot of fans will be happy if Union Berlin can win the Bundesliga title. Because we are tired of watching Bayern Munich win the title every season. Every season we only see the dominance of Bayern Munich. So we want Bayern Munich's dominance to end, and a new team to win the title. Union Berlin have started the season well. They have occupied the top spot in the table for a long time. They are also 4 points ahead of Munich. Let's see how long Union Berlin can maintain their dominance in the Bundesliga.

I am part of the unhappy fans if that should happen, you can't measure how good something is until it takes time and give you consistent result and that is what Bayern Munich represents. Over the past six or seven years, Union Berlin hardly makes it to the top 4, they either end in Europa or they never even make it all and the problem with most of the rest of the teams that see Bayern as a threat most of the time sign old players who have little or nothing to offer the club in the long run. As for Union Berlin enjoying the top for now, they should while it last because the rightful people are coming to take the place.
Dortmund are even more of a disappointment since they sold their Haaland for a piece of cake last season and now they are struggling and dangling to win common Union Berlin.  

I think I will have to slightly disagree with you on this point. It is with great pleasure that I am one of those fans who would love to see Union Berlin win the league this season. As a matter of fact, it's no wonder the German league is called the farmers league since, for the past ten years, it has been just Bayern who have won every single time. The other reason why Bayern are a bit behind this season is that Lewandowski has left them, and for quite a while he was their main goal scorer for them. After a decade, we might be able to see some competition in the German league after Dortmund also puts up a fierce fight. In the past, it was just a question of how many points Bayern would win this season. This has got to change.

Unfortunately Werder Bremen and Paderborn managed to make the game a draw and neither won nor lost, the game on the field was also dominated by Werder Bremen.
However, the game went to a penalty shoot-out and when that happened then Paderborn managed to get the win through a penalty shoot-out. At least Werder Bremen have tried their best to get the win.

 Bayern never disappoint when it comes to playing 5+ goals when it comes to DFB pokal games and even though they are still shaky at best, they at least destroyed Augsburg 5-2 yesterday after beating Freiburg 5- 0 in the weekend.

 I won't be quick to wave off their chances of climbing back to the top because they still have that fighting bone in them and could quickly become a threat to Union Berlin's reign at the top spot and it could be made possible as they are just 4 points away from doing that.

@Tony116 it’s not surprising to see Dortmund perform so bad this season, because Halland was a key player for them and without him they were always bound to underperform. Furthermore I feel that they need to buy at least 2 player’s in the January transfer window, and if they don’t strengthen then it’s quite possible that they may end up outside the top 6 by the time this season ends.

Both Bayern and Dortmund had good preparations for replacements of Haaland and Lewandowski. Bayern bought Mane from Liverpool and Dortmund bought Haller from Ajax Amsterdam. It's just Dortmund and Haller were unlucky because the player suddenly was diagnose with a tumor in pre-season training.

In this case I actually see the opposite.
Unio became one of the problems for Bayern in standing comfortably at the top of the standings.
Their performance at the start of the season was good enough that not a few big clubs had to bow down.
But look at Bayern's performance that is getting better over time and they clearly now have a big chance to stick to the top before really getting above it.

Müller has come to such an age (and the number of games for Bayern) that here and there sets new records. Yesterday's victory was his 52nd (in the German Cup) and now he shares the first place in this indicator with Mirko Votava (I have not heard of such a player). Let's take a look at their stats in this game, they're amazing. They even shot 15 shots on target from 28 attempts. It's something we usually see when Bayern Munich play. Now I think the strength of Bayern Munich's performance has returned. 10 goals in 2 games is a really great result. Moreover, their previous match scored 5 goals against a club that can be said to be strong, but they can do that easily. Union Berlin must be careful in the Bundesliga table, because the threat is now real.

Bayern during the week will score many goals after I took my time to check there head to head results they have a high probability of scoring more than three goals in that match. Hertha Berlin won five over the team they face so they can still score like two plus against bayern.

Sadio Mane is still difficult to adapt to at Bayern Munich. With so many hours played in all competitions he should have been able to quickly adjust to Bayern Munich.

Sadio Mane hasn't been playing very well for bayern munich, but it feels like people are not noticing it, he doesn't have so much influence in their games, and most times his goals are not so important for the team, because he mainly scores when the team are already winning and comfortable. I feel he will get better, though it may take sometime, but another thing is if bayern munich will give him so much time, Sane is their top attacker for now and he is having a better season than his previous ones, the coach will have to find a way to bring out the best from Mane, because if he and Sane are playing so well, the team will surely be stronger.

Union Berlin doesn't have the funds to buy top quality players during the winter break. We're not in the Premier League. They are playing an outstanding season, but IMHO sooner or later they will start losing games. Probably they will end up somewhere between 4 - 6 at the end of the season.

If they end up higher, it is not because of the money they spend, but the good teamplay and hype they currently have. It this once in a few years season in which everything goes well. They should be happy, but unfortunately this won't last forever.
