The reason at Union Berlin is relatively simple. They are no longer a team. They have bought experienced players like Gosens, Bonucci and Volland this season. They were allowed to play immediately. Previously, they had always bought players who were not so well-known or had not played much. They built them up slowly and integrated them into the team. That was their philosophy. But this time everything is different (probably because of the Champions League). It is no longer a unit that has grown.

If all this is just because of the pressure of the UCL match schedule I think its a bit of a departure because even in the UCL Union Berlin performed very badly since the initial stages started I saw that their performance was not like the previous season and this poor performance is a worry for Urs Fischer who serves as the team coach this but there is no improvement whatsoever, in fact it is getting worse.
and if we talk about the signings of players brought in by Union Berlin, it does not seem like this is a problem, but if I look at it, its either just my own opinion or I really feel the same way Union Berlin always performs well in the first half, but in the second half the performance suddenly disappears like nothing there is any power.

Despite the bad results obtained by Union Berlin, they still deserve appreciation because it is not easy to reach the highest level in European competition and they also have to realize that their strength is still not enough to be able to go further. Last season, Union Berlin were one of the most consistent clubs in the German Bundesliga as they finished the season with just one point behind forth placed Leipzig but has really fell short of what we saw last season. The reason behind their deep decline in form is what I don't know.
Facing a Bayer Leverkusen side that's been very impressive since the start of the season will definitely be difficult for Union Berlin and I don't expect any result other than a win for Bayer Leverkusen in that very encounter.

I know that in this group, Union Berlin is facing against Real Madrid and Napoli. Both of them are really good. But I did expect them to be in front of Braga in the standing. They are currently in the last position. They can finish in the third position in the group. They have the ability to do that. And I will say that they should concentrate on the Champions League competition because they are not doing very well in the Bundesliga this season. They will be facing Napoli in the champions league, and I don't see Napoli giving them any opportunity to get a win the most  Napoli would do is a draw with them but Napoli has got the home advantage and would not give such chance to Berlin today.

Berlin will hopefully get better probably beyond the relegation but they currently don't seem like they are in any good form , loosing all their matches recently as compared to last season where they were able to qualify for the UCL having performed well in the bundesliga last season, personally I have not been able to tell what exactly could be the reason for this poor performance they have recently.

That's the key to the success to any coach whenever you win the dressing room. It's also lead's to the downfall of the coach whenever he loses the dressing room. I've also seen training sections with Xabi Alonso and the lads. He has been a great push to their various growth and success.

They Bayern Leverkusen will host Union Berlin who have just scored their first goal after conceding ten goals in all of these last five games. I considered it a bad one but the coach plans to make things right. With the Europa League match too, Bayern Leverkusen shouldn't use all of them quality players for that game only if they have contributed well to maintain tue top in their group.

It certainly didn't come easily because improving communication between coaches and players in order to build chemistry is not something that is easy but in the end Xabi was able to do well and the view of the Bundesliga which is certainly not something new for Xabi because he played for a long time when he was a professional player is very helpful in improving the current coaching performance.
Now Xabi is one of the best coaches in the Bundesliga and I don't think anyone can argue with that because no matter how they look at their current situation Leverkusen should thank Xabi's style which is quite simple but able to bring an increase in performance in a good direction.

Now they're on top after a dramatic win as Hoffenheim levelled the scores beforehand and of course looking at the upcoming fixtures it'll be even more convincing for Xabi to stay.
Union is still one of the good clubs as a dark horse but this season they are in pain so I think for next week against Union this can still make Leverkusen with 3 points.

Yes this season Union Berlin is really disappointing, honestly I am curious about what really happened to their performance, because obviously this season they are very much worse than last season. As we know last season Union Berlin were able to compete in the top five area of the standings and finish in the top four, previously I thought they would be able to do better this season or at least stay in the top five of the standings, but apparently my expectations and especially the fans were too high on this team.

Now we can see that Union Berlin is almost at the bottom, that's a basic position for a team that has a very bad performance this season and now Union Berlin occupies 16th place above Mainz, with conditions like this then I think it can be concluded that this season they have absolutely no chance even maybe to be able to finish in the top 10 area alone it is quite impossible. That's right, this weekend Union Berlin will face a very strong squad that this season is very surprising with their very good consistency in dominating the top of the table, of course as you said, there is no hope at all in my opinion for Union Berlin to be able to achieve a good result in this match, I think the fans will not expect more.

Union Berlin sincerely is underperforming in the league, not only is it affecting the club but also punters, should we say this team is more focused on the UCL than the league or should we say the problem with the club and it’s financial status, because their performance is really unexpected based on how they did last season to qualify for the UCL, left for me I think they should forget about the UCL and focus all their attention on having a successful season in their domestic league.

Bayern Munich have left another Champions League night with a victory. This made them guarantee their last 16 ticket at the leader position. Now they can comfortably go back to the Bundesliga games and concentrate on them more. I think they have enough time to rest before the Heidenheim game. Besides I don't think they are completely exhaused after the Galatasaray game.

I'm curious about whether we would see a similar score to the Darmstadt game.    There isn't a big difference between Heidenheim and Darmstadt right now. Both of them have very vulnerable defenses.
